I am concerned. This is a joke, right? I mean, people cannot seriously believe in a zombie and an invisible cloud man. I believe that this “Christian-ity” started as a joke made by a lost soul who is against pastafarianism. But reading this letter, this has gone too far. I will not swear, but I will try to mock your unique form of entertainment, like others have yet to do, but please, stop this madness. Direct your hypocrisy, judging, and habitual concern for us sinners away from pastafarianism and into your own personal life. Let us not poison the minds of the innocent people that inhabit the earth. Thank you, and we won’t be needing your prayers.

Dear Concerned Christian,
Having read your letter, I believes it goes too far. I won’t curse you but stop this madness. Please direct your anger away from people who think differently than you do and into your personal life. Let’s not be patronizing to innocent internet users. I will pray to His Noodly Goodness that you will have fresh beer in your afterlife.

Anger? Almost all of the anger on this site is directed towards us Pastafarians by good, church-going people.
This site is a form of entertainment, but it has a serious purpose: to prevent the poisoning of minds through the teaching of (un)Intelligent Design in schools. We don’t need a theocracy setting science back to the Dark Ages. Thanks for your concern, though!

Dear Concerned Christian:
It’s not Christianism it’s Christianity. If you had been properly reading this site, you would have known that since it’s mentioned 20 million times.
We have the right of freedom of religion or freedom FROM religion. It says so in the Constitution, which I’m willing to bet you haven’t read either. Our choice is to place trust in the Flying Spaghetti Monster just as your choice is to worship a god that stuck his son to a cross to “save you” from your sins. I would love to watch your god stick our god to anything. It’s like nailing jell-o to a tree.
As for directing my anger toward Christians and not my personal life, I’ll do that as soon as you stop poking your head in my personal life. Yes, you do. Same-sex marriage. You tell me I can’t do that because it ruins the sanctity of marriage that god ordained. Well, that’s punching your faith into my life. So, in turn, I am going to punch into your life by telling you just how much you suck.
As for poisoning the minds of people on the internet, Christianity has already done that. A little corner of the internet reserved for Pastafarians isn’t really hurting anyone. We aren’t telling people how to live their lives or what they can or cannot do. It’s ridiculous that you even bring this up.
I hope you find your happiness somewhere as I have found mine in the FSM. At least here I know what to expect. I also look really good in pirate regalia, so I have that going for me.
RAmen.

Heh. Seriously, these letters are all coming from just a few people, right? Either that, or there really is an FSM-hate-mail gadget on some site where they just hit radio buttons to select boilerplate text, and which words will be horribly abused or misspelled, right?
> people cannot seriously believe in a dinner option.
Sure, there’s a lot of starvation in the world, but many of us do believe we have options for dinner. Or… what is it you were trying to say?

Madness seems a harsh description of an entertaining joke.

Again!? Look, at least learn the name of the religion you are attempting to defend. And then learn that this site isn’t intended to attack it. After that, learn that the hate mail posts by self proclaimed Christians are the worst possible attack on Christianity here.

The idea that creationism might be taught in a Science classroom is no joke. That is what this site opposes. Many of us also object to the way Christianity “poisons the minds of others” and this site is an effective way to discredit them as well. It’s also funny, which is a nice bonus.
I don’t lead people away from Christianity. I lead them to think for themselves, which commonly has the same end result.

Our church is no more a “form of entertainment” than is yours. Of course, we Pastafarians do enjoy Friday with the obligatory grog and pasta.

In your letter you state that you ‘[read] this website’, and that you ‘believe that this ‘pastafarian-ism’ [...] against christianism’
Obviously, if the first statement is true, the second one cannot be. Had you read the open letter, then you too would be chanting the prases to the Noodly One.
Secondly, what is ‘christianism’? I’ve heard of ‘Christianity’, or even phrases like ‘all of Christianity…’, but I’ve never heard christianism. Is that some breakaway splinter faction?

You claim to believe things about the site, and other matters, like prayer to _your_ personal sky-dwelling Doer Of Big Things.
Written evidence also shows that, rather than christianity, you profess to follow an obscure faith called “christianism” (is that anything like those “islamists” I’ve heard about?).
Anyway, I’m happy for you in your faith. Now please be happy for us in ours.

Dear C.C.,
If you read and comprehended what you read, then you know that followers of the FSM think that most Christians are mad for slavishly believing everything told to them by their ministry. I don’t think Bobby is a “lost soul” as you claim, we believe our minds to be free, and that we have no souls to lose.
“Poison the minds of the innocent people that use the Internet.” WTF are you talking about?! Apparently, you’ve been surfing the Net with the filters set to High! There are not very many innocents on the net that I have seen. And if they don’t want to be contaminated by alternative views, I’d recommend that they sell their computers and go back to using tin-can telephones. Thank you for the polite letter!

Dear Concerned Christian:
You are an idiot. Click the “about” tab. Strangely enough, it will open a page that will tell you about this religion.
Some other information you may find useful as you blunder forward in life:
1) There is no such word as “christianism” in the English language. In general usage, people say “Christianity”. Most followers of that particular version of nonsensical mythology tend to capitalize it out of respect. I’m temporarily forgoing my usual use of “xian” and related words in the (faint) hope that you’ll be able to understand what I’m typing.
2) I haven’t lost a soul. I don’t think anyone else here has lost one either, because I just checked the lost-and-found box at the front desk, and there are no souls in it.
3) “I will not swear or mock … but please stop this madness.” Can you spot the contradiction here? Take your time.
4) Shut the hell up. Who are you to tell us what we should and should not think about your foolish religion? What gives you the right to unilaterally decide that our views, beliefs and opinions are invalid? Do you remember anything in the First Amendment about freedom of religion? Do you go around telling Hindus and Navajos to stop their “madness”? Did we come to your xian website and tell you to turn away from the evil influence of the buy-bull? We didn’t?? Whaddaya know. How about if you return the favor and beat feet out of here.

“I believe that this ‘pastafarian-ism’ started as a joke made by a lost soul who is against christianism.”
Um, no. You really haven’t grasped the gist of Bobby’s argument, have you. It started as a reaction to attempts to insert intelligent design into public school curriculae. I.D. is a thinly veiled attempt to insert (christian) religious doctrine into public schools, but if you’ll remember:
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof” . . .
Evolution is not unconstitutional; I.D. is. Therefore, if an unconstitutional doctrine is allowed to be taught in schools, then the Church of the FSM humbly submits our own doctrine to be given equal time with evolution and I.D. Our beliefs, logically, are equally as valid as I.D.
Proponents of I.D. often use the argument that evolution is “just a theory”. This is true, but I.D. is an untested hypothesis, not a theory.
*****************************
“Let us not poison the minds of the innocent people that use the internet.”
Are you serious? Wow. Are you contending that FSM is a bigger danger to society than plans on how to build bombs, videos of jihadists cutting people’s heads off, porno (which constitutes the largest volume of internet traffic), hate groups, and people webcasting their own suicide? No, people need to learn to think for themselves. If you don’t like what you see at this site, then go surf somewhere else; it’s just that simple.

Nice to see a message that ISN’T hate mail once in a while. But seriously, “direct your anger away from christianism and into your own personal lives”? Firstly, you spelled christianity wrong, second, directing anger inwards won’t do anything productive, unlike this which already has (gave ID a beating in Kansas) And though I may agree this may not be the best place for young minds to visit (there’s a pretty sizeable amount of hatred here too) it’s better than what christianity will do to a mind (remove it).
I have to give you credit though, most christians that post here don’t seem to realize that this is actually a joke.

So i ask this here and now : Why christians , because i never saw any members of other relligions writting hate mails here , write hate mails and insult not just the mighty and powerfull FSM but us , the pastafarians too ?

Christianity is not being singled-out here, though it was a catalyst (see the “Open Letter To Kansas School Board”).
If you want to talk about poisoning the minds of innocent people, please see the documentary “Jesus Camp,” where young minds are trained for a “new army of god” in North Dakota. Maybe then you will direct some of your concern towards your institution and the direction it is going.

Why not? Okay, let’s look at a different belief system. Let’s believe that a snake talked to a woman and made her do something really horrible, something she shouldn’t have—she ate a fruit. After which a supreme being who created everything got ticked off and decided not to forgive the woman or her children or her children’s children or her children’s children’s children (and so on), even though the poor kids hadn’t done anything wrong…
…until…
…the supreme being split himself in two, made a virgin pregnant, then his other half became his son. After the son became a zombie, people had to telepathically commit themselves to this zombie, while symbolically eating him and drinking his blood in a solemn ceremony. After you’ve done this, a ghostly part of you gets to live forever and be happy and you also get to watch the rest of humanity (henceforth labeled as “bad people”) get punished forever in a horrifying fashion.
No… I think I like the plate of pasta and the beer volcanoes and the strippers much better. Thanks anyway.

Don’t pray for me as I really don’t want to be in your gang.
If I was going to pick one of the many pointless religions to follow it probably wouldn’t be yours. I’d more likely go for an original one like the many that yours stole it’s story from.
It’s a good thing there were no copyright laws`all those years ago as christianity would have been sued into bankruptcy for rehashing bits of just about every religion that came before it.
Everything from 25th Dec, virgin birth, 3 wise men to crucifixon and returning from the dead with pretty much most of the in between bits were copied from older religions.

Sure! sounds like you truly understand the potential evil of having fairy tales shoved down the throats of those who don’t beleive in the fairy tales.
I’m sure we can get this site taken down as soon as the strongest fairy tale starts to take a back seat. So I would completely agree with you as soon as we see some action involving:
Removing references to God of fairy tales off of our money
Removing references to God of fairy tales from our pledge of allegiance
Removal of christian proselytizers from our military
Removal of religious holidays as national holidays (you can of course take time off to celebrate whatever holiday you choose, we do)
Removal of national day of prayer (you can of course pray all day every day if you like)
Discontinue funding faith based programs that are not evidence based for their efficacy.
Discontinuing legislation banning actions solely based in religious world views (think prop 8)
This is a start. I’d join in with you on getting this dangerous site taken down as soon as I saw some action on your part.

Dear concerned Christian,
I am concerned about the frequent abuse of the English language by the majority of you Christians who choose to post on this site. It seems to me that while your church(s) teach you all to believe in illogical nonsense and fairy tales, it also seems to be working very hard to also teach you all how to not use proper capitalization when necessary, along with the incessant misuse of punctuation marks. Before you get your panties in a wad about our website, I would suggest instead that you start a new website devoted to proper grammer/punctuation usage for you and your fellow Christian cohorts. And at the same time, I will pray for you all to see this through by the grace of the mighty FSM. May you soon be touched by His Noodly Appendages with the success of your new venture.

We are not against Christianism. We do not oppose religions that do not exist.
Perhaps you may be referring to Christianity? Whatever the case, we do not just limit ourselves to disbelieving only one religion, so don’t think yours is so special. Besides, we are just following our own personal beliefs. All religions oppose all other religions by saying that said religion is the only correct choice. So, we could say Christians should stop opposing Pastafarianism.
A few quotes from Richard Dawkins for extra thought:
“Like computer viruses, successful mind viruses will tend to be hard for their victims to detect. If you are the victim of one, the chances are that you won’t know it, and may even vigorously deny it. ”
“We are all atheists about most of the gods that humanity has ever believed in. Some of us just go one god further. “

Christianity – The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree…
Yeah, that makes perfect sense…
Where as you people are basically cannibals, we Pastafarians enjoy knowing that the FSM will love us, even if we are gay or something that your god frowns upon.
Can I interest you in some beer? Or is drinking against your rules? Is happiness against them? Must we all love what some carpenter did thousands of years ago, or we will have eternal pain? What is wrong with different beliefs? What makes YOU right and us wrong?
Bottom line: You can believe in your god, but we also have the right to believe in ours.

Ok. I really hope some people read this comment.
YOU = FAIL.
First of all, anyone with brains could tell that this isn’t a REAL religion. It’s a joke.
Second of all, anybody who has the time to even GO to this website and post hate mail has time to READ what it says. This is a website created as an example in a lawsuit against the Kansas School Board, who wants to teach intelligent design to children in school. Their new law would have stated that teachers can teach whatever alternative they want to children in school. The point of this ‘religion’ is just to illustrate that the law is a bad idea, because people could teach stuff like this.
Third of all, quit trying to sound so sophisticated, “Concerned Christian.” You’re clearly something like, maybe, 9 years old? You don’t even know the name of your religion. IT’S NOT ‘CHRISTIANISM”. It’s CHRISTIANITY. Get a life.
Fourth. Your religion is just as stupid. I mean, if you want to say “who could believe in a dinner option”, go ahead. But first, realize that your religion consists of eating bread and drinking fermented grape juice while you pretend that it is human flesh and blood. Bread = not a deity. And when you’re talking about poisoning souls, your religion promotes cannibalism with your communion.
I would type more, but i’m going to new york now. I hope some of you actually take the time to look at your own religion.

My sincerest gratitude for being polite and relatively intelligible.
There is nothing about Pastafarianism that is against Christianity, or Christianism as you put it. We are simply trying to point out the fallacy of creationism and intelligent as being an alternative theory of …, anything really. It just seems to be that those who push for creationism and intelligent design almost always tend to be Christians.
You pray for me and I will eat pasta for you.

Yes, this is a joke (at the expense of ID and prehaps a few hardcore christians). But it will not stop; nor should it – and further, when I look at every religion, I think: this must be a joke – no one could be that damn stupid – but sadly, they never are a joke, sheep like you are just that damn stupid.
I do admire your lack of capitalization of the work christain. I don’t capitalize that one either. I also refuse to capitalize the word god.

a) yes, this is a joke
b) we are not at all about mocking christianity, we are actually about mocking creationism
c) by the way, evolution does NOT go against anything in the bible (if you don’t read it completely literally – and it isn’t meant to be read literally anyway), so don’t say it does
d) mocking christianity is just a side effect because most stupid creationists tend to be christians

Your entirely misguided post breaks my heart. While I do agree with you that “this” is very serious(after all, who would want to see their religion dismissed as a joke), I do find your statement that “innocnet minds are polluted” a sign of deep-rooted insecurity in need of urgent psychiatric remedy. As for the rest of your message, which doesn’t quite make sense, I can only guess you are talking about evolution, in which case you have made a full display of the depth of your ignorance.

In fact, we aren’t really protesting anything really… we just choose to believe in our Holy Noodlieness- the Flying Spaghetti Monster. It just happens to have drawn the attention of Christians more than anything else. It is they who are writing and bashing us. We pastafarians are on the defense. After all, you have come to our site- not the other way around. We really believe the world would be a better place if everyone read books such as the book of recipes. Could you imagine a world where everyone is too full to kill innocent children??? Or protest a man’s funeral when the reason he is dead is to apparently protect his fellow man (and then there’s that whole oil thing)???

“direct your anger away from christianism and into your own personal lives.” Well, no. I am angry with the way Christians insist on preaching their faith to children. ID in schools, schools run by churches – to me it’s simply brainwashing the next generation. As long as Christians target children I’ll target Christians
“Let us not poison the minds of the innocent people that use the internet.” So, stating that the FSM is true is poisoning the innocent? How arrogant of you to assume you’re right and people deserve protection from us. The FSM has as much much hard evidence as the christian church and that’s the whole point. The internet is about free speech; keep your closed dogma for the pulpit.

Very curious insight into christianity. They are not espousing controlling anger or getting rid of anger but rather harnessing it and pointing it inward at ones self.
Such self loathing is certainly the source of their endless sin. Their endless sin must create more self loathing. What a vicious cycle. No wonder they are so violent and lacking of a moral compass.

Hey. Here’s to all you Christians who keep bashing this fabulous joke (not religion, it’s a joke, people don’t seem to get that), listen to yourself. your religion tells us to weekly participate in cannibalism, eating the flesh and drinking the blood of the son of god. however, logically, the son of god cannot exist…
Christianity tells us that God is male.
Therefore, god has a penis.
Christianity tells us that God is perfect.
This reaffirms that he has a penis.
Christianity tells us that God is unique.
This tells us that God cannot use his penis for either reproduction or sexual release.
Therefore, God cannot have impregnated the ‘Virgin’ Mary.
Here’s something else.
Since God impregnated Mary without consent, without telling her, and without any other type of permission, he is therefore a rapist.
So.
Let’s go over this. You worship a rapist and his illegitimate son, who cannot exist according to your religion, and one of your rituals is eating his flesh and drinking his blood, which seems to actually be a mixture of sugar, fermented grapes, and other ingredients.
That sounds just as fucking impossible as a flying spaghetti monster.
Get over yourselves, stupid people.

What a coincidence. God’s comment #122 here and John Denver’s comment #119 under the “this Booby Dude needs to get a Live” thread are word-for-word identical.
If you’re going to post comments here, have the decency to retain a consistent identity. I’ve posted quite a few comments, all under the same name, and when I screw up, I take the consequences. John Denver was in the movie “Oh God”, but he didn’t play the title role. That was George Burns. Do your homework and have some pride in your individuality. Some of the names chosen by the more serious posters here are downright profound. And some of the wenches are downright titillating, in both name and attitude (especially when they’re serious posters). *wiggles eyebrows*

After taking a short hiatus abroad and coming back and looking at the hate mail on this website, I can see things never seem to change. How sad.
I remember in the 1980’s when a particularly potent form of cocain called crack was introduced in the US and women who smoked it had babies born addicted to the stuff. It was all the rage for social commentators to expound on what the national landscape would look like when these “crack babies” grew up and we had a nation with them as part of our social landscape.
Well, I have news for anyone who so wonders, we do have a nation in which upwards of twenty percent of our citizens are addicted as children to a toxic drug and the consequences of that addiction bedevils the citizens of this nation without cessation. That drug is of course Fundamentalist Xtainity.
Fundamentalist Xtainity is every bit as addictive as crack, promises physical and emotional ecstacy, makes its followers irrational when their source is threatened (ie their delusions about the nature of the universe), leads to violent impulses like the murder of gays , the bombing of abortion clinics, and the conduct of unnecessary wars such as the one in Iraq.
Fundamentalist Xtainity has created a large, obnoxious group of people who have no respect for the rights of anyone but their fellow travellers, and it encourages the impoverishment of its believers, just like drug addiction, by fighting against quality science eductation.
And just like the drug dealers, who are wealty and well dressed, you have a Pablo Escobar class–the televangelists, a cynical lot who chase hookers, boys, drugs, and cold, hard cash.
Yes, we know the consequences of having a nation of crack babies, it’s called the Bush Administration which was elected largely thorough the support the Religious Right Fundamentalist Xain base. And we are all going to suffer the consequenes of it.

Five million ‘witches’ killed, two crusades, the war in Iraq and countless racist and xenophobic actions; compare that to the number of people who die from choking on pasta or pasta-poisoning. Pastafarianism is a peace-loving religion, followed by a passive people. Nobody here is asking for your blood, we don’t even eat pork anyway. Listen, the person who wrote this specific hate mail did not do this, but many others have. Simply because you have very strong belief in the literal translation of the bible (which i do not) does not mean you need to try simple and harsh means of converting others. it simply wont work. In fact, your harsh words are pushing away from Christianity those who are simply pastafarians because of joking and fun (no offense to those who are strict pastafarians, of course) your ranting and hate mailing wont do any good, i can guarantee that. Simply leave others to their beliefs, and for all you bible quoters, “they will know we are Christians by our love.” are you really Christians if you cannot love your neighbor, be he of another faith or not? Did you know that they eat the flesh of their man god and drink his blood. How sick and revolting is that. At least our god was meant to be an entree. I think they fabricated this belief just to poke fun at how we devour the image of our god.

Its not an attack on any religion I can assure you. Its merely a religion that was underground for a while, but when the super natural science of Intelligent Design came into light we found that we could have our own super natural science (or super science) taught along side the theory of evolution, and Intelligent Design. Its only fair that if one super science theory is taught that all should be. Our astrology friends are working hard to have their alternative theory taught with astronomy as well. Soon children will be able to learn all sides to all theories, such as flat earthism, intelligent falling (to counter balance that ludicrous “gravity” theory) etc…All thanks to the super science of intelligent design. We have no beef (or meatball) with your religion, we do however hope one day you will see the noodely light and accept His old world style pasta embrace.

Double-blind prayer experiments by real-life scientists (the ones who made your PC) reveal that subjects only improve when they know they’re being prayed for, the ones who weren’t told didn’t get better, therefore prayer must be a placebo effect or a noodly appendage, supporting the common belief that the Lord’s Prayer is an adaptation of a mantra from some other philosophy, in which one should look into one’s self rather than to an external source for the answers you long for. Furthermore, for it to work you have to be somewhat fucked in the first place, which we’re not.
Go on, do some research before devoting your life to it, it’s okay to ask questions, no doubt you’ll just be forgiven anyway.

It’s not that one person with a different belief gets us riled up. It’s when one person tries to stuff his belief up our collective noses, and attempts to ridicule reality by throwing a 2000 year old fairy tale at it that we get annoyed. If dingalings like you and Concerned could keep your nonsense opinions to yourselves, we wouldn’t bother you. But if you come into my house and try to tell me how I should think, I’m gonna have a few things to say about it. If you take the time to read the site and understand what Pastafarianism stands for, you might notice that we’re not fighting against religion. When you have read enough to understand that, I’ll be happy to have a nice, civil, low-blood-pressure discussion with you about science education. Until then, I’ll consider you to be just another idiot.

Joke’s on you and everyone like you. You’re trying to have the last word like a told-off little kid, because after educating yourself at this site you’ve seen the light and are too feeble to admit to yourself you’ve been wrong your entire life. A big step to take, so embarrassing. If you have to devote yourself to some fantasy through your own insecurities pick a more modern one like ours. Get with the times and look at that shit book of yours and how it applies almost romantic connotations to unthinkable acts then blaming an external party for leading you down the wrong path thus removing all responsibility for your own actions. COCK!
All Hail His Noodly Lordship The Flying Spaghetti Monster.

This is hilarious, not the idea of FSM…. a great place for Christians to come and make themselves look more ignorant. I found god without the christian doctrine to guide me. My own life experience brought me full circle to the fundamental Christian belief in Faith. I believe in myself, and I am an extension of god as all things are.
Pray for your selves, and maybe consider expanding your belief system beyond your Grandparents.

DO NOT PATRONIZE US. Through the thousands of people who have posted their hateful message on our website, a good portion of them are the “concerned Christians”. It is almost like you think your something better than us. Like spanking a small child you think you know better. Like you have the truth (disgusted sigh)…
Congratulations you have made a fool of yourself.
And just for shits and giggles, what makes you think that your god is anymore plausable then ours? If you have any anwser other than “because the Bible says so” I would love to hear it.
Once more, like I tell every other hate-mailer, come back a bit more mature, and a bit less ignorant PLEASE.
Heretic
And just for clarification, I am willing to accept any idea, no matter how against my previous notions, if it has verifiable evidence based information that has been tested, retested and tested another 50,000 times. GIVE ME PROFF. Christianity will not be let off the hook on the rigors of the scientific process, so don’t BS me.

By the way #168 ET you have an incredibly enlightened view of the world and I am privileged to be a fellow Pastafarion of a person such as yourself.
And for the record, low-pressure discussions are incredibly fun, enlightening experiences. I can say this from experience because I have been in one for the last 6 years with my best friend, who happens to be a much more moderate person (along with myself) after our positive interactions that we have had.

You should be VERY concerned! Every day, more and more people convert to Pastafarianism as they realize that His Noodliness is a far superior god than yours (or any other god for that matter). In fact, while Jesus may or may not have existed, we know that our Prophet is real. So if you really want to have a consistent-real-life-type-of-belief-system join us. It is easy, it is cheap, it is fun and if you do not like it you can always go back to your older dogmatic life style.

First of all, it’s not “Christianism”. It’s “Christianity”. Get it right. And while we’re on that topic, it’s not “Pastafarian-ism”, it’s “Pastafarianism”. That shouldn’t be too hard to understand either.
Second, I love how Christians are always “concerned” whenever somebody believes anything other than what they believe in. They also call anybody besides themselves “lost souls”. They’re so narrow-minded. “Direct your anger… into your personal lives”? What the hell does that mean? Anyway, I will “pray for you” too. RAmen.

Actually, most christians arn’t ID’ers………
Please don’t judge all christians by actions and words of a few, most of us just want to live and let live, and have no problem with the concept of a flying spaghetti monster……. On the other-hand you have put up what is the equivalent of a lightning rod, one that draws the worst elements to it.
That being said, you all do realise that atheism is in of its self a religion.
Top definitions of Religion as defined by Dictionary.com
1. a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.
2. a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects: the Christian religion; the Buddhist religion.
3. the body of persons adhering to a particular set of beliefs and practices: a world council of religions.
Athiesm is the belief in the abscense of a god figure…… which can’t be proven any more than existence.
If you wish to truly be nuetral on the subject, agnosticsism is the way to go.
a. One who believes that it is impossible to know whether there is a God.
b. One who is skeptical about the existence of God but does not profess true atheism.
after all, just as christianity doesn’t have concrete proof in the existence of a god (any kind of god), niether do you have proof of his non-existence, absence of concrete proof, is not proof of absence. This is leaving aside the non concrete circumstances (emotional evidence, coincidental evidence, circumstantial evidence, and my personal favorite… things that fall into the “we don’t know wtf happened” ie inexplicable by all modern means evidence”.
Your brother in Christ and FSM
Michael

“That being said, you all do realise that atheism is in of its self a religion”
This is ignorant and simply false.
Athiesm is not a religion.
We have no standard beliefs, practices, or moral code.
Being an athiest simply means to lack a thiestic dogma.
A/an, is a root meaning not, or without.
Examples: atheist, anarchy, anonymous apathy, aphasia, anemia, atypical, anesthesia.

If there’s to be any praying here, let’s let it be for the poor, whom you won’t clothe, and the hungry, whom you won’t feed, and the sick, whom you won’t insure, presumably because of the astronomical rent on your megachurch.

When I first came to this site years ago I laughed so hard, laughed harder when I came back. It gives me hope for humanity that we’re not all so stuck in the ways of what we’ve been told. It’s good to see there are so many free thinkers out there. Then I read the hate mail and get depressed all over again. How can there be a positive future for humanity when so many of them are hypocrites who get angry if you question their beliefs, or just believe differently. Personally I’ve always hated the WWJD bracelets because they’re always worn by people who never heed them. I’m guessing all the hate mailers have one on. To everyone else on the site who has a brain and can think for themselves, good job. I hope everything is going well in your lives, and I hope you continue to challenge the cussing Christians. You would think cussing at people is a sin.
