Let us put aside christian’s poor spelling for a minute and consider that this may not be the same ‘Christian’ who has already been such a fertile source of discussion on this site. It is possible that two people, in different locations, with different but similar ‘pressure’s may form similar opinions, and also use the sign ‘Christian’ (or ‘christian’). In fact, the lack of correct grammar etc would suggest this is indeed the case. Therefore, ‘Christian’ (with the fairly accurate spelling) and ‘christian’ (with the poor spelling and grammar) are a prime example of parallel evolution.

I have dry skin and a wonderfully pale Irish complexion that lends well to the red hair and green eyes. And three, while I thoroughly support the Pastafarians, the FSM and the message they support, I’m actually a witch. If you’re going to try to convince anyone to become a Christian, than you might as well use better grammer, as I would only worship something/someone with at least the writing skills of a 9th grader, and not someone who capitalizes every other word. The sad thing is, most of the Christians I’ve met seem to have the same problem, of course, this is not only limited to Christians, most of the people I’ve met have horrible writing skills. Of the few people I know that don’t, most of them worship The FSM. No I am not afraid of stating my name and firstly I would like to apologise on behalf of all the self rightious idiotic so called christians out there who are shouting profanities at your face while supposidly trying to witness to you and your fsm fanbase. I understand your concern for the education system is this: that if you introduce something that doesn’t make sense then what is the point am I right? Are you a devout atheist or an agnostic? Because I don’t really know why you would want to knock the idea of teaching alternate theories for the creation of the universe. Because even in science there has not been a clear answer for the very beginning of the big bang. If that is what you believe. Also evolution as it is stated is not able to come to a conclusion when it comes to the beginning of the universe. All we have is some scientists telling us that the universe just is. Plain and simple. Now does that make any sense to you? Or would you rather believe that because evolution is based on the idea of tooth and claw. That in order to become more advanced we have to fight our way to the top. Now if that is really true we wouldn’t have the united states as it is today with all of it’s moral background based in people comeing over from europe because of the ostricisation of the puritans and the quakers who had a different belief system and the desire to break off from the church of england. And why then when the united states with it’s obviously flawed concept of our “right” to spread our land from one coast to the other or manifest destiny. Did we not go from the northern part of the contenant to the southern too? Wouldn’t that be evolution in the workings? Now I know you are probably sitting back and laughing at this but I would like you to take a serious look at what you are considering. Christianity has a basis in thousands of years of history and if it weren’t true from the begining then why would so many people be willing to die for it every single day? And then if it were just a religion and you didn’t have to believe it then why are people arguing so strongly against it? Not to mention when is the last time you believed in something so strongly you were willing to give your life for it. And if there is somthing consider why you would be willing to. Because without God there is no reason for us to be even capable of wanting to die for any reason. Let alone make one up. My problem with organized religions is their depiction of God. The way they depict God is to show him as a petulant 5 year old throwing a temper tantrum because he is jealous (play my way or I will kill you). All the major religions other than Buddhism depict God in this light; can’t anyone else see the disconnect between an all-knowing all-powerful being and this kind of behavior? This takes a Supreme Being (God) and gives him the worst of human emotions, not the best. Why would a being of such power even care what we thought? Such a being would not require worship; he already has all the power and knowledge. Such a being would be completely beyond our comprehension so assigning him human emotional characteristics is just a form of anthropomorphizing that has gotten out of control. It is an attempt by people to make God in an image that justifies their behaviors. I’m sorry but I can’t logically believe in that kind of God. I am not atheist I do believe in God, but not the one that organized religion wants to push down our throat because their version doesn’t make the least bit of sense. I have too much respect for God to be able to see him in such a juvenile light.
Christians will argue that the Bible is the proof they need. Well then they need to learn the history of their Bible. You can’t be a true believer if you don’t even know the history of your regligous text. For example the Jesus story, shows up in many older religions for their important people. A lot of the parts of the story are the same. Many have a virgin birth, there are others that have a resurrection (same time frame and everything), and etc. The list is pretty long. Only when you can look at the complete history, like the editing, the translations (many languages to don’t translate well into each other) the copying errors made by monks copying the Bible (a good number who could not read), etc. can you know your religious text. I won’t even get into the fact that nowhere in the Bible is there mention of fiery hell. The in the Middle Ages adopted a fiery hell to strike fear into their congregations. The version of hell we are most familiar with was adopted from Dante’s work by the Catholic Church.
I think people who feel that others must believe as they believe are actually that way because they are insecure in their beliefs. The more fervent the less secure they are. They need others to believe the same as them to give credence to their own belief. They justify it a number of ways to themselves the most common one is that they are ’saving the non-believer’. The truth is they are trying to save themselves, so they don’t have to think through what they believe and why, because once they started questioning they might find they were wrong, and that would be too much for them to handle.
I don’t know where I heard this from but someone once said that ‘fundamentalists have more fear of the devil than love of their God’, and I think that is very true.
