I love this.
We live directly across the alley from a church with a made-up religion.
I recently installed a gigantic flagpole on the Crow’s Nest (yar yar yar) of our garage and every Sunday morning we proudly fly the pair of FSM flags shown in the attached photos.
It’s our humble attempt to save the souls of each Sunday’s arriving flock of misguided Methodists. Hopefully they will look up to see the light and pass over to prefer Pasta to Pastor. Thus will they begin to Walk the True Plank, experiencing the Creamy Richness of our Hollowed Noodly One.
RAmen.
Bruce and Susan

Wonderful.
The Good Word is indeed spreading.
And it must be driving them mad. :-)

however awesome this may be i suggest flying the flags on Fridays as well. This way you not only advertise to the churchgoers, but also celebrate Fridays

I just got done posting a message regarding “Canadian Pastafarian angers Catholic church. The point of my message was that it is best to just gently make our point, without intentional cruelty. Bruce and Susan exemplify exactly that approach. They have profoundly been Touched by His Noodly Appendage! In turn, I have been touched by their gesture toward those lost (and, it is hoped, future Pastafarian) souls.
May Brother Bruce and Sister Susan be forever bathed in the Warmth of His Sauciness.

I believe that all religions are “made-up”. Except of course for Pastafarianism.
Also, I also believe that it is time for the Pastafarian faith to be included in the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives. They have excluded us for far too long. I am an old man and have not the energy and stamina to undertake this myself, so I am calling on individuals like yourself to take up the sword against those that oppose our participation.

Well done, Bruce and Susan!
Your demonstaration is peaceful, non confrontational, and yet so in-your-face! It is not an attack, just a display of faith which is clealy visible from the front of the church.
While I suppose most of the congregation may ignore the flags, or don’t know what they mean, I can imagine some kid, who’s only going to church because his parents make him do it, is looking your direction upon entering the church and thinking, “YEAH!”

Ron,
You are right in demanding the inclusion of our Faith in the Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives. However, your point of “made-up” religions is not complete. All religions are “made-up” including Pastafarianism. The difference is that Pastafarianism has been made up under our very eyes by Our Hendersonian Prophet and his Baked Accolytes. The important point is that our made-up beliefs are no a bit lesser to the “mainstream religions”. Even that, our faith on a Creator heavily drunked in the very moment of creation has more empirical evidence that “intelligent design”. “Intelligent design” is conservative because it assumes that our world is just perfect as it is. Contrarily, “drunked design” assumes that some perfection can and must be done. This is the Word we need to spread. (Of course, the idea of a Heaven full of beer volcanoes and strippers’ factories from both sexes plays also a role in spreading the Word)

Ben, both flags can be purchased here:

(They’re kinda expensive, but think of it as an Offering.)

The flag on the bottom makes me hungry. It reminds me of a really good salmon dinner.

Dear Brother-In-Pasta “Jason”,
Thank you for your concern, but don’t worry or fret for us–the church across the alley is full of peaceful Methodists, so we don’t fear any kind of misplaced wrath from them.
(Now, if it was some kind of Fundy church, your warning might have some merit–but we are still appreciative of your thanking us for “bravery” lol.)

Christian, you don’t know much about your religion.
1. Your god is supposed to be omnipresent; he doesn’t have to reach.
2. Jesus asked us not to smite each other but to “turn the other cheek.”
You have so much to learn about your religion. Why not save time and join ours instead?
Smile, don’t smite!

We have taken down the flags.
After two threats here and NO defense from ANY other Pastafarians on this site, we ask you to please not hurt us.
We won’t fly the flags again.

My fellow Pastafarians, it is a sad situation when not only is one’s freedom of religion threatened, but when free expression is met with threats from so-called “believers” in organized religion. I was raised Catholic, and would never think to threaten anyone with physical harm, in part because that is what my “religion” taught me.
Alas, it has become obvious that these days, those who cling most tightly to their orthodoxy display behavior that is the polar opposite of the scripture they regurgitate and pretend to defend.

Oh wow–Buccaneer Banzai–THANKS for the comment of support! I hadn’t checked this thread lately because I thought nobody cared about the threats we have gotten over this.
If just one more Pastafarian speaks out against “Jason”’s and “Christian”’s threats, we will fly the flags once again!
RAmen to you!

Thanks, Naomi! I just hope that when you fly them you don’t get threats like we did.
(also, thanks to my fellow Pastafarians who are giving “thumbs down”s to “Jason”s and “Christian”s evil comments.)
