Coaster

Pastafarian Ed sent us this photo.

A craft made by one of my kids, not a nautical craft such as might be targeted by pirates, but an artsy-craft on which to rest a vessel of grog or other favorite beverage. BTW – ’twas inspired by looking at the pumpkin contest pictures.

I used to make pot holders and what not at Vacation Bible School, before I came to know the Truth of our FSM. So, will this coaster be the first craft model for the kids summer retreat FSM followers will come up with as an alternative to VBS? What will the FSM alternative to VBS be called?

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
