Have fun with your nonsense

Have fun with your nonsense because I am going to destroy all that crap you people spread. There hasn’t been a single evolutionist or atheist that has won or ever will win against me. Don’t believe me, see how many forum discussions on evolution that you can find on aol. Check out Adrienne Curry’s blog. I just started there but that’s just for fun. If darwin knew of me, he would have never come up with ridiculous theory that doesn’t have a single gram of sense in it. I will single handily take on any and all evolutionist and atheists in a nationally televised public forum, discussing evolution. And I will single handidly win. So enjoy it while it lasts, because it won’t last much longer.

ALL HAIL THE ALMIGHTY! Asetrian you are an example to us all, Lord Jesus is with you my friend, you cannot fail. I know of a way to vanquish darwins theory. First we must get it out of schools. The way to do this is to convince the government that evolution is a religion. The proof that its a religion is that it has 1.an origins story(the big bang) 2. it has an apocalypse (the big crunch) and 3.a religion doesn’t have to have a God(buddhism) based on these 3 facts we can destroy this. Do not be afraid of these bumbling idiots, The LORD is on our side. AMEN!

@ The Assetrian(Yes,I intentionally misspelled you tag!)

One question; can you-oh pompous one with infinite wisdom- explain to myself and a motley gang of Pastafarians, the existence of hermaphroditic animals? You know, Moses didn’t need two of them, and if gays are an abmoniation, why he would make such animals. See if you can find the explaination in your holy book.

Let me know how that turns out!

Some of the best people i’ve ever met were christian people. but i’ve also met some of the most narrow minded people in the world. Have you ever thought that it might be possible..some way, some how…that the bible is not true? that maybe its just a bunch of stories passed down for the past thousands of years? show me the proof of god. show me hard evidence of things in your religion actually existing at one point in time. although there is no way of proving they didnt exist, there is also no way of proving it did. there is no way. its impossible!! Try to prove that the flying spaghetti monster does or does not exist. that is also impossible. let people believe what they want, if it gives someone hope in their life then let them believe whatever god they want. i have seen people get so mad because others dont believe in their god. thats not fair. this is a big reason for the creation of the FSM book and website. Not to mock christianity but to get point across to many narrow minded angry christians that they should understand that other religions were created and other people find their hope and faith from those religions, which is why i am in support of FSM.

hello ET, i am indeed a real person, and am indeed a christian. As to being close-minded, i am allowed to be close-minded so long as I’m right. For example, if you told me 2+2=5 i would call you stupid. And no matter how long you made fun of me, or said 2+2=5, i would never agree to something so stupid. I wouldn’t even lower myself to saying 2+2=4.9999 because its wrong and its dumb. It is much better to be closed minded and know the truth, than to be open-minded and smother your mind with pointless lies. May the Lord Jesus rule over God’s people forever Amen.

It is much better to be closed minded and know the truth, than to be open-minded and smother your mind with pointless lies.

Okay, just a couple of notes here:

    1) If you close your mind, how will you ever know if you have been wrong?
    2) If you never consider that you may be wrong, how do you learn anything?
    3) If you knew that the truth was that 2+2=5, how could you ever discover otherwise?
    4) The difference between “truth” and “reality” is that the first is subjective, the second objective. Truth is something you carry with you in your mind; reality is what’s there.
    5) Happy to have “the Lord Jesus rule over God’s people”, so long as he sticks to ruling only them.

Just waiting for that Celestial Hoover to suck y’all up to your reward… and hoping it comes soon.

    Hey Mr. Christ-ian

I hardly think pointing out that 2+2 does not equal 5 would qualify you as close minded. Clinging desperately to unproven beliefs and trying to force the rest of the world to accept them…now that is coming closer to the mark of close mindedness.

I’m supremely curious as to how one can be close minded and know the truth, unless the truth was inside your closed mind to begin with. However, that would imply that your ‘knowledge’ of ‘god’ and ‘truth’ is entirely self-created, and thus no better (or worse) than any other human invented notion.

Hmm. Delusions for fun and prophet. (yes it is misspelled – purposefully)

    cheers

@Christian, whether you are indeed a real person or not and not simply a troll I don’t really care. But for the sake of argument I’ll assume you are real. There is a major flaw in the argument that you made in your previous comment.

    1. Darwin’s theory has nothing to do with the Big Bang. The theory of natural selection, and the extension evolution makes no claims about the very beginning. Some people do try to explain it with abiogenesis, but that is not part of the theory of evolution.

    2. The Big Bang while being a theory about the origin of the universe is not mutually exclusive with religion. You are still free to believe that it was God that started off the Big Bang. In fact, in 1951, the Catholic Church officially pronounced that the Big Bang theory was in accordance with the bible.

    3. The Big Crunch is not claimed to be fact. The universe as we understand it now is based upon the Friedmann model. In one of these models, the expansion of the universe is not sufficient to overcome the force of gravity that acts on all matter. In this model the universe will eventually stop expanding and begin to contract back down to a single point. The second model is a universe in which the universe is expanding so rapidly that the gravitational attraction can never stop it, though it does slow down a bit. And the third model is a universe right on the edge where rate of expansion is just enough to outpace gravitational attraction. That universe increases in size forever, but the speed decreases but never quite reaches zero. According to the best scientific knowledge currently available, adding up the mass of all the stars we can see and other galaxies we only have about 1/100th of the mass needed to cause a big crunch. Even adding in dark matter which is speculated to be there because of its effect on the gravitational attraction on stars and galaxies we only get about 1/10 of the matter needed to cause a big crunch. So current scientific theory does not support a Big Crunch as you suggested.

    4. You’re quite right in saying that a religion doesn’t need a concept of God to be a religion, however there is a key component that separates religion from science. Religion, with the exception of the CotFSM, is based upon certain doctrines. These are believed to be correct and unchanging. Religion tries to explain questions such as why we are here and what our purpose in life is. Science tries to explain how the universe works. Yes, sometimes it gets it wrong, but the strength of science is that when experimental data is shown to not correlate with current theories, those theories are modified or abandoned to account for this. Aristotle believed that everything was made up of 4 elements, Water, Earth, Fire, and Air, but we now know that to be incorrect. The ancient Greeks also thought that the atom was the smallest unit of matter, then we thought that atoms were made up of protons, neutrons, and electrons and that those were the smallest units of matter. We now know that to be incorrect as those are in turn made up of quarks, which come in 6 ‘flavors’ and 3 ‘colors’. Who knows perhaps someday we’ll find a smaller unit. And when that time comes we’ll alter our theories.

Anyways, I could continue to rant on about the scientific process, but I grow tired. So I will leave you with a question. Why are you so against science? Why is it that you feel that science is such a threat to your religious beliefs? Evolution does not say that we came from monkeys, and it makes no claims about how life on earth started. You can still believe that God created us in his own image. Maybe he started life and set it in motion knowing that the process of evolution would eventually create us. Maybe God set off the Big Bang knowing that the evolution of the universe would eventually lead to us. Since science makes no claims about the supernatural, it neither says there is a god, nor that there isn’t.

    Peace and Long Life,
    Zane

“I am allowed to be close-minded so long as I’m right.” That’s one of the most close-minded statements it’s possible to make. How do you determine that your chosen belief is correct if you refuse to examine alternate possibilities? I was educated as a scientist – I have a BS from Rensselaer. One of the things you learn as a scientist is to accept the possibility that virtually anything you think you know MAY be proven wrong by new evidence. Evidence is crucial to the pursuit of science. Evidence is completely lacking in religions. Evidence is what we base all our everyday decisions on – whether it’s safe to cross the street, is the roast done yet, does the lawn need mowing, etc. To decide that it’s safe to cross the street based on the idea that “I know it’s safe because I’m right” would be potentially fatal a discouraging percentage of the time. Plate tectonics was first theorized in the 1800’s, and roundly denounced as absurd by a scientific community that “knew they were right” about it’s absurdity. Yet today the theory is accepted universally, and the associated movements are measured daily. But those scientists KNEW they were right! Using christian’s reasoning, it doesn’t matter about the ongoing measurements and the associated potential for predicting earthquakes – because they knew they were right they were therefore right, and nothing else matters.
Open your mind to the world around you. You’ll be amazed at what you’ve been missing.

    @Christian,
Just what is it about evolution that you have a problem with? Forget about the religious diatribe; just the science.
Being descended from apes? The concept of man figruing out how nature works without asking for divine intervention? Whats the problem?

All you do is talk about being right. Period. You’re right, the bible is right, and you have the right to be close-minded. Only on the last point can I let you off the hook. A belief in god isn’t science, guy. God doesn’t come into labs and do creation studies for humans. You can believe what ever you want, but for you to knock real science, that has done more for humanity than religious belief has, simply because you and others like you insist on being hard-headed is pathetic.

Yourself and the Assertrian are the kinds of people who burned people at the stake because they didn’t kowtow to the Catholic Church, went to foreign lands and told the native people that their dead relatives went to hell because they never heard of JC, fought crusades against the heathens who wanted to read bibles themselves, rather than have them recited by clergymen.

I was once like you, Pip. Believed that all I needed to do was read the bible and nothing else. That having a single independent thought contrary to christianity would send me to hell. Only the ministers and clergy had the right to speculate scripture. It is all a trap. To subjugate your mind and will, to make you not ask questions about the world around you, too keep you in the dark.

Socrates invisioned humanity as people living in a cave facing a wall; only knowing of the world by the shadows cast on the wall. And one day, someone has the courage to turn around. Its called enlightenment.

For your own sake, please turn around!
    rAmen.

What pathetic public access channel is going to cover a debate with ass train in it. Hating the theory of evolution doesn’t make it wrong. If I hated gravity it would still require me using an airplane, ladder, or forklift for me to get more than three feet off the ground you fucking tool. Would you hate us less if we believed in Scientology or were Mormons. I would call you a fag but I realize that homosexuality is not allowed in the Christian faith unless of course you are the one doing the talking on Sunday mornings, and because I would be demeaning gays. The FSM Church has yet to shame me or make me feel guilty in any way shape or form. I realize that shame and guilt are two of Christianity’s basic tenents. Take your third grade education and your inbred upbringing and shove them up your fucking ass. I look forward to a very civil and rational debate.

ET, always a pleasure to read your comments. I was particularly interested in your response to the statement, “I am allowed to be close-minded so long as I’m right.” You asked, “How do you determine that your chosen belief is correct if you refuse to examine alternate possibilities? I was educated as a scientist…. One of the things you learn as a scientist is to accept the possibility that virtually anything you think you know MAY be proven wrong by new evidence. Evidence is crucial to the pursuit of science. Evidence is completely lacking in religions.”

You are exactly right that evidence is essential to knowledge. I disagree, however, that “evidence is completely lacking in religions.” The critical element, here, is to define what constitutes “evidence.”

“Evidence,” as used in science, is not the same as “evidence,” as used in religion. I am not arguing that both uses will lead to knowledge, just that the people using the word ‘evidence’ in each sense, are employing different definitions of the term. Unfortunately, this often leads to misunderstanding. Just consider how people confuse “theory.” In one sense, “theory” means an established explanation, based on independent principals. In another sense it just means a wild-ass guess.

I’ll just make a very quick reply to 199 noodleguy – Post #199 October 29th – because I don’t have the time or energy to list the hundreds of thousands of cases of fanaticism and human rights abuses in Islamic countries regarding which for some reason noodleguy seems to have turned a blind eye… a factor which clearly negates his rather arrogant presumption to be an expert on these countries.
Noodleguy, you claim to be “someone who actually knows a thing or two about Islam”…
But then you say stuff like “there are countries out there that are actually quite nice, the UAE for instance.”
I personally don’t really see what is “actually quite nice” about a country where the following human rights abuses take place:

Migrants, mostly of south Asian origin, constitute 95% of the UAE’s workforce and are subject to a range of human rights abuses. Workers typically arrive in debt to recruitment agents and upon arrival are often made to sign a new contract in English or Arabic which pays them less than had originally been agreed. Visa and travel costs are typically added on to the original debt, and thus within hours of their arrival, workers often find that their debt-repayment time has increased significantly, possibly by years.
Confiscation of passports is officially illegal, but in reality the practice is accepted by the authorities, and employers retain the passports of all of their semi or unskilled employees. All of the workers interviewed by Human Rights Watch in a 2006 report had had their passports confiscated. The kafala system of employment, which ties an employer to one employee and prevents him or her from seeking alternative employment without the expressed approval of the original employer operates in the UAE. Workers are therefore dependent on their employer for housing, wages and healthcare. The lack of proper enforcement mechanisms of the country’s ostensibly strong labour laws means that in practice employers can break the laws with little fear of prosecution. Accordingly, non-payment of wages, cramped and unsanitary living conditions, poor safety practices, physical and mental abuse are widespread.
The issue of sexual abuse among female domestic servants is an area of extreme concern, particularly given that domestic servants are not covered by the UAE Labour Law of 1980 or the Draft Labour Law of 2007, which was heavily criticized by Human Rights Watch. The falling dollar has meant workers have been unable to service debts and the incidence of suicides among Indian workers has reportedly been on the increase. Worker protests have been heavily cracked down on with reports of collective expulsion and imprisonment. The government has ignored international pressure to introduce trade unions despite repeated promises to do so going back to 2004.
From the perspective of international human rights law, the UAE is in violation of its obligations under the terms of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, in particular where its treatment of non-citizens is concerned. It is in violation of its obligations under the terms of the International Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women, particularly where its treatment of domestic workers is concerned. Recent initiatives to stamp out the practice of child camel jockeys have headed off criticism that it violates its obligations under the terms of the International Convention on the Rights of the Child. There is also an argument that the UAE is in violation of its obligation to stamp out the debt bondage which is widespread in its territory and furthermore that the state is itself involved in and profits from that debt bondage.
Even though the UAE government has made some advances in the protection of human rights, the U.S. Department of State notes in its annual report on human rights practices that numerous fundamentalist practices and policies exist to the contrary.
Guest workers are brought in from South Asia, and a common objection is that they are grossly underpaid as their passports are held by their employers. There have been many reports of unskilled workers getting underpaid, and complaints of segregation abound.
The form of Sharia (the body of Islamic religious law) exercised in the UAE prohibits ’sodomy’, effectually outlawing any homosexual relationships. While the UAE tries to put on a public image of tolerance, homosexual behavior in public may get a person imprisoned and then deported.
The UAE also does not allow individuals past retirement age to stay within the country without a job. Upon retirement, residents must return to their country of origin. People with TB, Hepatitis C and AIDS are also discriminated against, any non-citizen found with these illnesses may be deported.
Discrimination in the workplace is common, prospective employers will specify religion, nationality (and even regional origin in some cases) and also specify the sex of required candidates within job advertisements. It is very common to have different pay scales depending on nationality and sex. Policies are in place in certain instances where state employers are required to fill in vacancies with UAE nationals, a process called Emiratisation.

And this is only a small part of the multiple abuses and political corruption that take place in this most advanced and enlightened of Arab countries… I happen to have a friend who was a journalist there, and I can tell you that the above mentioned abuses are only the tip of the iceberg!
But oh, if noodleguy the great expert says this place is “actually quite nice” let’s go there to be underpaid, exploited, sexual abused and beaten or even executed if we insult Allah or criticise His Great Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan!
I can only imagine that noodleguy wore a burquah or hijab which completely covered his face so he couldn’t see anything during his visit to this “actually quite nice” place… and he has the presumption to call my comments “blatant idiocy”… now that’s what I would call blatant idiocy (if I was into gratuitous insults like noodleguy!)
Maybe for noodleguy the fact that those who suffer these abuses are mostly mostly of south Asian or at any rate non-US origin means they are of little consequence??
I think he shows his true colours when he says “And I would watch out about insulting Saudi Arabia, they’re our third biggest supplier of oil. And Bush is like best friends with their princes”… Well, I’ve got news for you noodleguy. Bush ain’t the president anymore! And the fact that he was best friends with their princes strikes me as an excellent reason for “insulting” them (although I’d prefer to talk in terms of criticising them rather than insulting them… it seems that you’re the one who’s into the insults!)
Perhaps noodleguy thinks that just because “they’re our third biggest supplier of oil” and were best friends with Bush they should be supported and helped to continue with their fascist-style religious-based dictatorship and bloodthirsty fanaticism? Now that’s what I would call blatant immorality and a hypocritical defence of evil due to base economic interests (if I was into gratuitous insults like noodleguy!)
I could go on and talk about the “worst” Muslim states for hours and hours but this info about the “best” of the Muslim states (even noodleguy would agree on that!) should suffice for now… and I don’t want to scare the children before bedtime!

Once you’ve defined “religious evidence” (as opposed to the kind the rest of us are using), could you give some examples? I’ve heard wonderful things like: “The number Pi is evidence of God” and am curious if this is the kind of evidence to which you refer- things someone doesn’t understand so must be the product of the divine.

I have a thought that I don’t think you have ever considered, my friend.

I am sure that your faith is unquestionably solid as are the faiths of many people on this majestic creation of the almighty FSM, however, I don’t think you have ever seen the danger of this kind of fundamentalism first hand.

We all remember where we were and what we were doing when the towers fell on september 11th. Despite speculation as to our governments involvement, it is generally accepted that it was caused by fundamentalist extremists from the muslim camp. We all have seen the effects of this action.

What I would bet not many of you have ever experienced is the ordeal of being shot at by an extremist. Or having to shoot back. Or having to deal with the fact that you just killed a human being today. Or following that up with chow, a phone call home, and a killer Halo 2 match with your buddies before the next mission.

People ask where is god when this shit happens. People blame god for it happening, and people say to themselves that there is no way that god could exist because a loving god wouldn’t allow this to happen.

I say that it is people like you, asterian (whatever your name is), that make this shit happen. So just remember, when you finally get fed up with debating us, and realize that you can martyr yourself by blowing up a science class with a bomb, people like me are watching you. And we have quality weapons, with bitchin scopes. And we don’t have any reservations about making your head go POP.

Hopefully it never turns to that in the states, but until you start reading books other than the bible, or the koran, or any other holy book without a single grain of skepticism, your hatred for the rest of us will continue to grow, and I have seen the ends of hate. They only make more beginnings.

OK everyone. We can stop. 233 posts since early October and Asetrian has not bothered once to return to this blog and defend himself.

The evidence is clear. Somewhere in this blog he must have stumbled across a blog comment that convinced him he was wrong. He has been touched by His noodly appendage. We will all party with Asetrian under the beer volcanos and stripper poles. Well done to all who contributed for each of you played a part in his conversion.

“If darwin knew of me, he would have never come up with ridiculous theory that doesn’t have a single gram of sense in it”

That’s the only sentence in your mail that i can agree with. If Darwin had known about you, he never would have thought that humans evolved from apes

So I went to Adrienne Curry’s blog, and I read the does god exists part. I assumed that the name I should look for would be something similar to The Asetrian. If not it makes me wonder if you were hoping we would go and find someone’s compelling argument and just think hmm this must be him wow I am converted now! Even so I found no such argument there other then what she started. Seeing as hers was one of the few open-minded ones I don’t know how you can beat her, she pretty much admits that she doesn’t know for sure what’s out there but thinks there is more, sorry it takes more than your opinion to make her wrong (maybe some tangible proof, besides a book that has been written and rewritten so many times that who knows what its validity is). I am going to however assume that you being on a debate on National TV would be similar to an Evangelist. No matter how many people like your idea it still doesn’t make it right. That is kind of like saying, “Oh I don’t like this so I am going to pretend something else.” well good luck with your destroying and any time you want to set up that debate on National TV let me now I will be there. If you want your arguments to be awed in send us the name you post under or a direct link to the site, its a bitch to search for that stuff.

that guy wouldnt win an argument with my dear grandmother, who is lacking a few marbles…

how can you win an argument when you do not have evidence to back up your point of view? Or does he plan to win in terms of decibel level:

COLBERT TO O’REILLY: Some people criticise what you say but they never give you credit for how loud you say it.

Does your Bible explain why the Earth revolves around the Sun? Or why it is in fact the third planet of nine? And why our solar system is only one in billions of others?
Does your Bible explain why, if gays and Jews and Muslims and everyone else are evil and deserve nothing more than to be burned alive and dropped into a deep ocean, are they here? If your God is all-powerful, why doesn’t He simply damn all the rest of us? Why did He make us in the first bloody place?

    To sum up…

“If you’d have thought, you’d have thought that the king is hardly going to want other dragons dead, is he? They’re probably distant relatives or something. I mean, it wouldn’t want us to go around killing its own kind, would it?”
    “Well sir, -people- do, sir.”
“Ah, well. That’s different. That’s ‘cos we’re intelligent.”

The Impaler is right, Jay is somewhere out there afraid to admit to his previous mistakes prior to enlightenment.

    Jay,
Welcome to the true faith (or lack thereof), me hearty! Just speak up and you’ll find us a sharing group of lubbers. We’ll even spot you your first eye patch and grammar book.

Oh, don’t worry about the national televised debate. It wouldn’t have worked out.

If i met this guy in the street or on his never will be T.V show i would not be a pastafarian for the next 10 minutes. Facts can be proved like evolution, God cannot be proved and thus cannot exist also according to loophole in the bible that he can only exist through faith if we knew he existed he would therefore cease to exist as in the famous arguement in “Hitchiker’s guide to the galaxy”. “The argument goes something like this: ‘I refuse to prove that I exist,’ says God, ‘for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing.’ “‘But,’ says Man, ‘The Babel fish is a dead giveaway, isn’t it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves you exist, and so therefore, by your own arguments, you don’t. QED.’ “‘Oh dear,’ says God, ‘I hadn’t thought of that,’ and promptly vanished in a puff of logic. “‘Oh, that was easy,’ says Man, and for an encore goes on to prove that black is white and gets himself killed on the next zebra crossing”. So you still want to wind me up. And do you really think dissaprove Darwin you jackass he had hundreds of religious nuts like you (not all religious people are nuts just a small minority) and he still went on to prove this theory if the world was made of idiots like we would devolve and be stuck in the same position for all eternity and that is what really is dimbass.

P.S you cant win against me ever, ever, ever.

Thanks guys. I think Im gonna cryyyy.

In all seriousness, it is nice to have this “fellowship” with other people that see the world for what it is. This new “theology” is the perfect thing for bringing us all together against greater evil.

Pretty much, what Marcy Marc just said in the comment below is what I would have said. By-the-way, LOVE the Hitchhikers quote, favorite books. Anyway, it’s true, you are not a very intelligent person “The Asetrian”, for you would know that this entire site’s purpose is not to evoke believe in the FSM, but rather to incite thought on religion. We are not trying to insult your beliefs, but rather come across provable truth, and to analyze religions. God is as real as the FSM, who is, in turn, as real as a Vogon. (read Hitchhikers).

This might have already been said… but if history serves me correctly.. Darwin was ACTUALLY SENT by Christians to study and prove to people about God and him creating everything!

    It gets better.

When Darwin came BACK, the Christians LOVED IT. Here was irrefutable science that God was so smart that he created evolution to pick up the slack!

But then…you know… we Christians are fickle little idiots.

Yea, though I may be a Christian, if the FSM DOES exist, laddies and lassies, please allow me a spot a’tha’ floor t’eat tha crumbs that fall!

    To Marcy Marc, #241.

I do not know which school of science you use to “prove” things. Ordinary, positivistic science disproves and makes probable.
It is actually because of this ability to be disproved and the everlasting quest to do so, that science makes sense.
If we “know” instead of theorize, we become dogmatic and – in the end – religious.

    Kind regards,
    Bertram

to the writer of this and other disbelivers that would like to kill us:
Lemme start off with a little background, i was a roman cathloic for all my life and found it too hippocritical so i tried to find fulfillment in other religions and this is where i found it, in FSMism. So i know that it is the teaching of the catholic church that other religions are not bad, just as long as we are happy with that god. We are essentially worshipping the same thing with a different face, why cant u all see that!
you would rather cast us down like pontious pilot did to jesus then look at us and say wow those guys are happy and leave it at that, but no, instead, like the many opressors of catholocism, you decide to ridicule us for our so called “weird beliefs”. as you may recall that is what the early christians had to go through! see the similarity and again hipocracy goes to kick christianity in the balls.
So to all you disbelivers RAmen i say to you RAmen! maybe one day, when you are being denied your admittance to stripper factory and beer volcano heaven, you will remeber this and say why did we ridicule them why couldnt we just accept them and leave them alone!
All praise to his noodlyness and his great noodly appendage,

    Erik

As long as he doesn’t single handidly take us on in a spelling test. I know it’s already been noted but I just had to chime in. The new tactic of ominous threats is a pleasant change from the normal scream-until-your-pickup truck-can’t-take-no-more style, though.

This bloke is totally right. He is living proof that evolution is false and misguided. He still uses AOL and stands defient in the face of ISP’s everywhere. You go my little AOL friend. Let your voice be heard for you are the anti matter to Darwin’s matter. I bow before you and lay defeated by your prowess and bewildering intellect. You are the chosen one and your voice shall be HEARD ALOUD and Proud, at least to those still using AOL.

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
