LA Scientology protest

The FSM made an appearance at a protest of Scientology by Anonymous. These demonstrations are all over the place, but this one was in LA. The FSM wasn’t wearing a mask.

I think it is blasphemy* for His Noodliness to be shown with such cancer.

URGENT NOTE TO ALL LOUISIANA PASTAFARIANS:

As many of you may know, LA Governor Jindal is about to pass the Louisiana Science Education Act allowing Science educators in LA to teach the controversy in science topics. This would be an excellent opportunity to push for teaching the controversy about the much disputed theory of gravity, and even the presentation to the students of the rival theory of Intelligent Falling.

DO NOT PASS UP THIS OPPORTUNITY

My advice is that as soon as you notice a local educator or school board appearing receptive to teaching the controversy about other subjects (Evolution for example), you should immediately petition said educators to include the gravity controversy and the Theory of Intelligent Falling.

@ dan, I blogged about this on my windows live space.
I say ANON should also use Immortals masks.
oldfags would say that it is cancer, but what are the doing other than posting CP?
protesting is not cancerous. hacking and protesting is what being the final boss is about. people HAVE to deal with us. we shall pwn $cientology.
what is better, protesting the cult or hacking the myspace accounts of 16year-old girls?

I suspect some just disagree with the aims of Anonymous, or think that Pastafarians should stick to the evolution issue. IMHO I think joining in any action against religious fundamentalism is in the spirit of FSM-ism.

There was at least 1 Pastafarian at the London demos as well. Will try and find pics.

We’re not against Scientology protests, Mr./Ms. Enthusiast, we’re against Anonymous (i.e.: a bunch of bored kids from 4chan and various other places) wasting so much time and energy on Scientology when there are much more important things to be protesting.

Because they’ve become a place for people to wear masks and shout 4chan memes rather than actually confronting Scientology. At least that’s what I’ve heard. Haven’t been to any.

Actually we should not take sides against anybody in particular, but Tommy Cruise’s acting is not what it used to be in let’s say, ehh, I forgot.

Well Platipus scientology is Evil, thats right, Evil, the FSM is not evil, spaggy is nice, Tom Cruise, Evil, spaggy nice, so you see its important to protest against a protest to maintain the inverse proportions of the inner world, to keep order and make life truly fabulous, only through inverse protesting can we allow ourselves to accept something totally hideous and depraved like scientology, but we still honour them as ones who may come to the Church of the flying spagetti Monster, I hope that clears up any confusion.

@Dan, sorry to hear about Jindal and his antics. As you may know, he is being touted as a running mate for McBushCain to lend racial “balance” to the ticket. I wrote a letter to the Pinellas County School board in Florida which is posted under the Pinellas blurb on this site in which I suggested that they should teach “Intelligent Gravitation” a Wiccan theory that universal gravitation was “only a theory” and could be disproven by determined instruction in how to use a broomstick. I suggested as a final exam, one of the elementary schools could take and entire class up on the roof of a ten story building and have all the kids with broomsticks in hand step simultaneously off the roof of said building and fly to the roof of some neighboring building which would have to be more than 1000 feet distant from the first buildlng. Never heard back from ‘em.
Anyway, it is disappointing that this covert theology is being pimped by Jindal and his henchpeople and I hope the Supreme Court will remain committed enough to the First Amendment to strike this thing down. Probably will, unless we get another Scalia clone or two rammed down this nation’s throat. Better hope it’s Obama taking the Oath January 20, 2009 and not McBushCain.

Protesting against scilons is the best of ideas. Christians aren’t the only special interest group fighting to have their crap taught in schools after all. Mandatory e-meter readings and tech classes in every public school would be their preferred vector for spreading their garbage across the US.

Purchase the Gospel

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
