Pastafarians claim the Galapagos Islands

Pastafarian Marc sent us this picture:

Perhaps the Charles Darwin Research Station will see fit to fly the Pirate Fish flag?

Some of you may remember this flag from the Pastafarian invasion of Catalina Island:

I can’t imagine many evolution-rejecting Christians visiting the Galapagos Islands on purpose in the first place, much less noticing anyone has hung a FSM flag there, so why not put one up?

Very cool. Now I want a flag.

And if you insist on giving me tickets to the Galapagos Islands, I suppose I’ll take those too.

The Galapagos Islands are the most incredible living museum of evolutionary changes, with a huge variety of exotic species (birds, land and sea animals, plants) and landscapes not seen anywhere else.

Hurray! It is our Holy Pilgrimage!
We can fast on a light diet of simple pasta dishes and wine until our arrival. Then a feast in honor of the Great Noodly One. To be joined with our faithful family and fellow worshipers where we need not be persecuted anymore for our kind FSM will then be even nearer to us.

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
