You must be fucking kidding me

You must be fucking kidding me :| i came across this site while i was googling for innocent “i’m sorry” messages… but the whole idea of having a wad of spaghetti as a god whom you all look up to, is like, sorry to say, disturbing. I know god has no physical form and it is just a state to help people understand better what is beyond our brain capabilities to understand certain matters, but a wad of spaghetti, well, just doesn’t cut it for me.
-Andrea

[and a little while later…]

In the about screen quote: “…mostly fundamentalist Christians, who have accepted that our God has larger balls than theirs”. So this is what it’s all about? It’s all a big prick-waving dick-fight? I’m Christian as well, and as I have stated above, I don’t believe our God is in a human form. Our God got his “human” form because it was much simpler to preach to people about our religion without having to go into detail of what is and what is not a “god”. Simply said, our religion is flawed. Big time. But still, I see beyond that and I see beyond the bible and beyond all the preaching, and form my own opinion of what the representatives of God are trying to tell us. So far, I got to “Love one another and love yourself”. The rest is an elaboration of that statement.

I really have nothing to say here.
Stupid Andrea not making fun of us directly… Pah.

Hey, what can I say, it was a reasonably nice note compared to what some others leave here. I, personally, don’t care what you have to say about Pastafarianism, as you could care less about what I have to say about Christianity, but I respect that you are able to at least form a competent sentence. Andrea, all religions are flawed (and to an extreme degree, I might add), but so is mankind and everything that mankind spawns. Nothing is without flaw, even God. (that’s right, at least I have enough respect to capitalize it) I might not care for religion, but that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy it. I love the Bible, wonderful book it is, but I also love the Torah and the Vedas. I know that in the Old Testament, God is a maniacal, easily-angered, smite-machine. If you take my point of view, God is a creation of man |=| Man is flawed |=| God is flawed. However, if you choose to take the religious standpoint, you must see that God changes constantly, so however perfect he may be, he still has flaws. Let’s reverse the equation now. God creates Man |=| Man is Flawed |=| God is either, A.) flawed or B.) sociopathic.
There is my stand on the subject.
    .
    .
I leave you with one conundrum. “If God is so perfect, then can he make a boulder that he himself cannot lift?”

I don’t see what’s so hard to believe. Your “God” is some invisible guy that hasn’t showed his face since Jesus was born and his miracles have been apparently lacking during this modern era. FSM on the other hand is always there for us, we can’t see it either but we’re pretty sure he’s there too. It’s the only logical explanation.

And we know your religion is flawed, it’s religion.

Jimmy- I’m Irish, so if you could elaborate on all types of pastas (I’m assuming you’re high up in the Pastafairian church) that’d be really awesome.

“came across this site while i was googling for innocent “i’m sorry” messages… ”

Now THAT is disturbing; why the hell were you looking for i’m sorry messages?

“I see beyond the bible and beyond all the preaching”
    .
I am wondering if Andrea really is a christian as she claims, since she doesn’t believe in the bible, or what other christians say about god.
    .
“Our God got his “human” form because it was much simpler to preach to people about our religion without having to go into detail of what is and what is not a “god” ” thinks Andrea
    .
Actually the bible is pretty inconsistant about gods opinion on the matter, but nowhere does it suggest that God was trying to avoid getting caught up in a discussion of his fundamental nature when he urgently needs to get his point across, although this would explain why he never did the burning bush thing again as that just raises more questions.
    .
Jacob (Genesis 32:30) claimed to have seen God face to face in human form, wrestled with him all night and lived, somehow i doubt Andrea would have believed him. Later on in the bible God tells Moses, “You cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live” (Exodus 33:20). But God did permit Moses to see his backside (Exodus 33:23). No wonder muslims don’t allow him to be depicted.
    .
Eventually God gives up on appearing in visions and avoiding going into detail, prefering to send his son to earth in human form to go over some of the finer points of Gods message which clearly hasn’t been getting through to everyone. There also appears to have been a change of policy since the days of Moses as Jesus tells us “Blessed are the pure in heart for they will see God” (Matthew 5:8).
    .
I sypathise with Andrea, unlike other Pastafarians I think that our supreme being is a Levitating Linguine Creature and the fundamental message of Pastafari is “Never eat anything bigger than your head”. Everything else is just elaboration.

uhm.. YES WE ARE FUCKING KIDDING YOU….

We are pointing out the massive flaws in religion and why they shouldn’t be pushed on people.

If you can’t READ THAT on the site, you are about as dumb as they come.

After reading all these brilliant responses, and contrasting them with the intellectual capacities of the folks who send us hate mail, I am thoroughly convinced that homo sapiens sapiens is evolving in diverse ways that will eventually lead to disparate species. Thinkers and non-thinkers.
    .
If you think about it, it’s already become a mating trend…

Fizz: “You will be pleasantly surprised at what you can pleasurably accomodate with the right partner.”

LMFAO! Brilliant post. That made my day.

    Cheers.

You quite obviously need to watch the two most important Christian movies ever made.
Dogma, and the Life of Brian.
    All will be explained.
Also; please continue to love yourself.

    Can I watch?

    1. You believe in your own god
    2. You don’t care that charlatains are using your god to con people(since you’re past the bible and all that, and didn’t mention this point)
    3. If you’ve seen past all the stuff that makes up your religeon, then you’re “Displaying your own morality standards”, not anything else.

As a fourth point, you should become a Pastafarian. You get to keep your own moral standards, and you get to put all religeous artifacts on the same level, and it would let you preach raw morality instead of one based on a deity, in addition to preaching that would reduce the false standards you’ve seen past.

Someone has probably said this already, but you think god is not human form? Didn’t the bible say somewhere that “God” made us in his image? Some contradiction there.

I’m not fucking Kidding Me,whoever that is, i’m fucking my wench!

Dudes, the reason good little Christian “andrea” is a potty mouth is because (most of) Christianity reveals its own secret desires through its prohibitions/rules. Like Larry Craig.

I just think it is wonderful and perhaps profound that the FSM and followers exist. It doesn’t seem like we are deliberately trying to mock christianity. Dear god, it does that to itself everytime you turn around (that statement, not sponsored by the FSM, was in fact intended to mock christianity). Let us all live al dente,

The sad thing is that a thousand years from now people will actually take this stuff seriously. As I look back in time I can see a similar thing having happened before….. “Just put it in the story, no one will take it seriously. What dumb ass would actually think he can walk on water?!?!?”

  18. 138 Jeebuz Apr 28th, 2008 at 10:08 am

So you see beyond all the flaws of your own religion, yet you can’t see a simple satire when slaps you upside your pretty little head?

  19. 139 Gnocci Man Apr 28th, 2008 at 10:46 am

I can really see nothing wrong with a belief like this. As far as I’m concerned, the general belief of “just be nice,” if one really follows it, pretty much makes up for any ridiculousness found along the way. If the Bible lets you reach that conclusion, then by all means, read it. What bothers me is when people start trying to force their beliefs on others, which, in case you didn’t know, is what pastafarianism was formed to combat. I myself am an Atheistic Pastafarian Discordian Unitarian Universalist, but I arrived at the “just be nice” part without religious intervention.

Wow. Andrea is soooooo divine in her godliness.

I think I’ll bathe in tomato sauce tonight.

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
