How many believers

how many believers of the fsm have died for their belief when they could have simply renounced that belief and lived?

I’ve noticed that atheist and / or FSM “believers” don’t have any really original arguments either.

To my knowledge no Pastafarian has been threatened with death for belief in the FSM. many others before have been killed by X-tians for not believing in the crazy delusions in the bible. are you attempting to suggest that a faith is only valid if there are martyrs? sounds like islamo/judeao-christian fascism to me. the FSM does not require sacrifice, and for a god that is, historically, a VERY original Idea.

I died for my belief in His Noodliness, but then was restored back to 100% health… No, wait a minute, that was when I was playing The Simpson’s. But does it really matter? The main thing is that I was brought back to life!

I’m not sure I understand the question. Is it a reference to the pagan Romans who killed Christians, the Christians who killed pagan germanics, the Christians who killed Jews, or the Christians who killed Muslims, or the Muslims who killed Christians? What about the Christians who killed witches? Or, could it be a reference to the Catholics who killed protestants? None of the above? All of the above?

Well, I guess it doesn’t matter. The answer no FSM believers have chosen to die rather than renounce their beliefs to my knowledge, yet. Also, FSMism does not require believers of other religions to renounce their beliefs under threat of death. Also, everyone has been touched by his noodly appendage, but none are required to believe it or die for it.

hahahahaha I died many times already, but our noodliness seems to think there is more work to be done.
Therefore i am now having my pirate ship build at the batavia werf in lelystad.
to do our noodliness bidding on the high seas and help reducing the warming of this planet

I think a couple of famous scientists of the rennaissance were forced to renounce their scietific beliefs by some religious body, but I just cannot remember who… oh yeah! Galilleo was forced to give up his “false” belief that the Earth revolved around the Sun by THe Roman Catholic Church. HE was forced to live the rest of his life under house arrest by orders of the inquisition.

“how many believers of the fsm have died for their belief when they could have simply renounced that belief and lived?”

Since the 9/11 hijackers sacrificed their lives for their beliefs, obviously Wahabiist Islam has much more credence than FSMism. Since the Holocaust martyred millions of Jews for their beliefs, the Jews have more credence still. Truth is measured in body counts.

So you realy think that the martyrs are what make the religion beleivable? if so my good sir your logic is very flawed. If i thought that if i died i would come back to life and live better than i did before it wouldnt be very hard to give my life.
Also atheists dont need original arguments, the same arguments that are used are logical, scientific, and in most casses disproove religion. They are just having to be used over and over again due to the christians who are being stuborn as mules.

Lots of times people have renounced their beliefs and Christians killed them anyway. Did you know that during the Spanish Inquisition, the game plan was for the Church to torture the “heretic” until he/she renounced his belief(s), then after forgiving them their sin, they burned the person at the stake before he/she could change his/her mind, thereby insuring them a place in heaven.

    Way to go Jesuits.

Er, correct me if I’m wrong but I think the answer is “absolutely none”. Anyway, if I did try to die for the FSM, I am sure he would snatch me out of harms way with the touch of His Noodly Goodness. He is such a loving mass of spaghetti, meatballs and sauce that dying in his name is actually impossible. I would encourage you to try it, but that would be a little mean. Oh what the heck, give it a go anyway.

OMFSM Neal, that’s terrible! It’s also quite interesting.
For one thing, I don’t know any Pastafarians whose lives were at stake, and even if they renounced their beliefs, I’m sure they would be killed anyway, just like Neal said.
We have plenty of original arguments!!!!!!! You don’t call a religion involving a Flying Spaghetti Monster and Pirates original?!?!?!?

Why , oh why, should people have to die for their religious beliefs? If there is such a thing as “the one, true god”, is he/she so demented as to take delight in the carnage that results from religious conflicts? Kinda like a video game, I guess. I think I’ll go wail at the wall.

To paraphrase Gen. George S. Patton – “The object of religious wars is not to die for your religion, but to make the other bastard die for his.”

Theory of evolution – pretty damn original.

As opposed to some other unproven and yet widely touted theories.

Theory of personal abrahamic god – copy of earlier zoroastrian beliefs
    Theory

Theory of virgin birth – one word – Hercules.

Theory of life after death – not very original given everyone who is alive will eventually die. Fortunately you wont experience disappointment if the theory doesnt pan out.

Hitler kills billions of jews, and shoots himself. So does this really mean he fucking died for christianity? I thought not. Now what? because methinks that was an argumaent!

    @ Amalric: OMG SERIOUSLY!!!

There you have it, Henry.^^ There’s our devotion.
BTW, dying for your religion is stupid. The FSM would say, save yourself, as long as you believe in me in your heart you don’t have to scream it and get killed. How foolish the Christian God must be, to tell His followers otherwise.

One more thing: Shouldn’t you think more about the people killing us on account of our religion? Hmmm… like that guy who sent a hate-mail telling us he beat up a bunch of Pastafarians? Or the one who wants to hit us over the head with a metal pipe? How about the guy who threatened to “take legal messures [sic]” against us for using our freedom of religion? (Hint hint: I’m talking about Bible/Koran/Torah/Something-thumpers. Mostly Bible.)

Shouldn’t they be called into question, not us?

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
