Somalia – Lots of Pirates, low Carbon Emissions

somali_pirates.jpg

Congrats to Colin for contributing the latest evidence in our Pirates Vs. Global-Warming link:

Somalia has the highest number of Pirates AND the lowest Carbon emissions of any country. Coincidence?

Yar, ’tis but a fluke, a coincidence if ye will. I see not a hat, nor a peg leg, nor an eyepatch on any of these Somalian scalawags. These vagabonds ain’t *true* pirates.

They’re on the road to becoming true pirates, so I think the FSM has simply given them an incentive to continue practicing their pirate ways until they’ve restored a respectable degree of true pirateness to their society. The FSM works in mysterious ways, except in cases that prove his existence, such as this one.

I must agree with Boatswain Z. These ruffians do not look like fun loving, giving candy to children, true pirates. They look like what the modern, unbeliving, world has warped the view of pirates into, criminals on the sea.

I think we need to advance as pirates, we cant use swords and single shooters anymore. look at that, an rpg, thats what we need. “this is what fsm would do…” BOOM!!!!

I dunno about you, but when I think about a pirate, I think peg leg, eye-patch, rocket propelled grenade launcher, you know, all the usual stuff. I think it’s great evidence, they’re doing their part to reduce global warming, aargh!!!

These Somalian “pirates” could be another smear campaign by the Hare Krishnas. They lack the panache and peglegs of True Pirates.

Of course not!!! They bring the FSM’s word where ever they go. But, as has been said above^^ these are not true pirates. Once they are wearing proper pirate regalia I will consider them so. yeah, Cap’n Ollie, you’re right. But there must be SOME reason that Somalia has the lowest carbon emissions. Perhaps the clothing doesn’t matter so much to the FSM, it’s more the actions. And those guys look like true pirates at heart. Or maybe it’s because the people in Somalia CONSUME LESS ENERGY!!! hmmm… interesting…LOGICAL!! Although not everything is logical in this world, as you can’t expect a drunk Flying Spaghetti Monster to create a world that makes sense!!!

    Peace, Love, and Pirates!!

May be they actually have peg legs? How can you be sure they haven’t? Furthermore, has anybody of the critics tried to wear a traditional pirate hat on a speedboat at full speed? I say, these guys are true pirates, just somewhat adapted to modern necessities. I am sure, after having collected the ransom, they will turn their attention to a fine bottle of rum!

    Arrgh!

These are nothing more than a fabrication by the Christians to cover up the real piracy in those parts. Of course they’re not the real deal(although one of them does carry a large stick). Their ship isn’t a real pirate ship, plus they lack pirate trinkets.
The real pirates go about consoling the berobbed afterwards and stopping the Shameless Heretics In Tiny Ships.

Furthermore, these S.H.I.T.S. have probably never even seen a peg leg. Let alone been touched by His Wholly Wholesome Holy Noodle!

No Yarrrr, you can’t deny that that’s definitely not a pirate ship. It’s small and engine powered. Using fuel! That guy’s probably stolen the peg leg from a real pirate, who was busy handing out candy and generally making the world a better place.
    .
By the way, is that guy holding a rocket launcher? While the other guys have to do with wooden sticks?
    That’s not a piratey thing to do…

OK – for all of you who have missed the obvious. These are REAL pirates. The are not wearing their regular pirate regala is because they are all on their way to a fancy dress party. Pirates can’t wear their regualr day clothes to a fancy dress party, they have to dress up of course!

It is debatable. The boat is not impressive. The RPG is.
I think the desicive factor is that their boat is gasoline-powered, and Somalia STILL has the lowest carbon emission with oil-wasting pirates running amok. The FSM is pleased.

Let’s say you were poor fishermen, just scrapping out a living in a lawless land. Since there was no central government to speak of, multinational fishing companies pillaged you fishing grounds. When you protested, you were met with gunfire. What to do? Two options come to mind. 1) Starve 2) Take it out on those rich foreigners.

Just goes to show you how the “good” people of the world can create pirates.

The critisim of pirates is itself a sin and can be regarded as Blasphemy. Shame on all of you who would condemn the fellow brethern. You must believe!!!!! Just look at the evidence……these are real pirates and they more than likely do distrubute candy to children in Somalia. This candy has to be paid for somehow…….booty!!!!! It is completely unfair how the are treated on the world stage by the western powers. This is a prime example of US and EU aggression against ordinary decent pirates. Please note also that the US and EU are primarily Christian countries. Once again the agressive Christian attacks the poor Pastifarian. The day is coming my fellow pirates when the world will be washed in a wave of hot sauce. When this happens it will be stale beer for the Christians!!!!!! Mark my words our lord the FSM is coming to judge us all and the wicked will behold his wrath.

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
