OK - for all of you who have missed the obvious. These are REAL pirates. The are not wearing their regular pirate regala is because they are all on their way to a fancy dress party. Pirates can’t wear their regualr day clothes to a fancy dress party, they have to dress up of course!

I think the desicive factor is that their boat is gasoline-powered, and Somalia STILL has the lowest carbon emission with oil-wasting pirates running amok. The FSM is pleased.
