it seems to me like

Published March 1st, 2008 by Bobby Henderson

hey

it seems to me like your all getting very worked up. im seeing a guy who started a satirical religion to protest against only a single point of view being taught at schools. i agree with him, i think that people should be offered many points of view before making their own decisions. but this has gone too far. both the christians and the fsm people need to learn to respect each others opinions. if you dont have anything nice to say then dont say anything. i respect that both religions teach to try and convert but please be civil to one another. this has got to the point where it is no longer an intelligent discussion about evolution and intelligent design being taught but it has become a petty argument. stop insulting each other and be nice. christianity teaches that you should respect others and fsm is not about panning other religions. please see sense and at least be nice to each other and accept that different people believe different things.

thank you for putting up with my ramblings

I agree with you, that Pastafarians as well as everyone else should be tolerant and caring toward other religions. But so far as I have seen, there are many serious Pastafarians on this website, including myself. Many of us face criticism and ostracism, and people thinking that we are kidding. But we believe in the FSM as surely as a devout Catholic believes in the Holy Trinity. (Some of us, anyway.) And we only ask that non-Pastafarians not mock us or criticize us. If you have seen the article about some threats made toward a Pastafarian group, you will know that there are people out there who hate us for some reason. They feel our religion is a satire, and although it may have started that way, now it’s a real religion, like it or not. I have seen far more non-Pastafarians being intolerant towards us than vice versa. I have plenty nice to say, even towards those who ostracize us.
May the FSM wrap His Noodly Appendage around you all, and may you bathe in teh warmth of his Sauce.
Peace, Love and Pirates to all.

I would like to add a few things.
    1. I’m not the slightest bit worked up.
    2. I never criticize people on account of their religion or any stereotypes.
    3. I totally respect Christianity and all other religions, but I have a bit of disdain for those who believe blindly what they want to believe, denying facts and proof.
    4. I am very civil!
    5. I disagree with “If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.” (HAHA total Bambi flashback!!) I think that you should be allowed to express your opinion, in a positive, kind way. If we only said nice things, the only conversations we would ever have would be exchanging compliments, and no one would have their opinions and beliefs heard. Nothing would ever improve, because no one would ever complain or give constructive criticism. I believe that if you are going to say something negative, don’t make it about something that can’t be helped and don’t be mean to people. But I don’t see anything wrong with disagreeing with someone. A much more helpful thing to me is the Serenity Prayer (besides the prayer part):
God (or FSM) grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to know the difference.

When did school become about points of view, English class isn’t about finding out if English is better than German, noone tries to claim that Pi is 4 in Maths, noone has to defend woodwork against computer design, so why should science class be inclusive of false theories?

Some classes, like “RE” should reference different cultures, and different philosophies, but not all theories are equal…

Dear anon. I love you. I think you are very beautiful even though I have never seen you. Your taste in clothes is impeccable and you are always on the forefront of style. You are the most talented person I don’t know. I wish everyone could be more like you. I’ve never met anyone as smart as you, and you must have a wonderful sense of humor. Please come over some time and I will cook you a nice bowl of pasta. Ramen to you, my new wonderful friend! [Sorry but I couldn't think of anything nice to say so I just said all that hogwash instead]

i agree with this person, i dont understand why everyone is insulting each other. I’m a christain and i don’t see why other christians are going around insulting other religions, everyone is entitled to their own point of view. I’d also like to say the same to the fsm people because why do you find the need to bag out christianity?
I’d also like to say im doing FSM for a studies of religion assessment!!! so this means that my (christain) school is considering it as a religion.
