it seems to me like your all getting very worked up. im seeing a guy who started a satirical religion to protest against only a single point of view being taught at schools. i agree with him, i think that people should be offered many points of view before making their own decisions. but this has gone too far. both the christians and the fsm people need to learn to respect each others opinions. if you dont have anything nice to say then dont say anything. i respect that both religions teach to try and convert but please be civil to one another. this has got to the point where it is no longer an intelligent discussion about evolution and intelligent design being taught but it has become a petty argument. stop insulting each other and be nice. christianity teaches that you should respect others and fsm is not about panning other religions. please see sense and at least be nice to each other and accept that different people believe different things.

The whole point is that religion and belief are NOT to be respected!
I don’t respect the opinion of a thief that I should leave my doors open and my alarms off.
Nor do I pay any attention to respecting a deist who tells me that I’m evil and am going to hell.
Respecting religion has led us to so may problems that we have a right to say “Prove it!” and when they don’t to dismiss them and to disrespect their beliefs.
The best way of doing that is to “laugh them to scorn.”

Well yes there are a number of fanatical atheists and anti-christians here; but what I’d like to think is the majority of us feel exactly like you, were not trying to attack christianity, and were not here to convert the world, we let people make their own minds up. We never start anything, sometimes you may see a bad word coming from us, but only ever as a response to something. I think your judging us as a whole, based on the actions of what is yes quite large, but still a minority. I respect what your saying however because if i felt you were right, and I see where you are coming from, it would be exactly what should be said.

Thank you for your thoughtful post. I agree that disrespectful banter is not productive but I hope that you also see that at least some of the postings in response to the “hatemail” page are thoughtful. I cannot passively accept ignorant and thoughtless statements from Christians or anyone else without correcting their mistakes; allowing misinformed information to go forward without correction is allowing the proliferation of lies. If someone wants to believe in god, whether the christian god or otherwise, they have every right to their beliefs. However, you forget that it is these people who come here and post against the wonderful FSM, it isn’t the Pastafarians going to their websites to denegrate their beliefs. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I don’t think that the teachings of Jesus are bad…there are many philosophical lessons of peace that people can learn from in his words, but no more so than Buddha, Confucious, Mohammed, Gandhi, and all of the other religious icons to live in the past. Christianity does, however, have a violent past and can be used to the detriment of humanity just as it has the capacity to lead to ethical treatment of others. My comments to posts on this page range from pleasant (like this one because you were pleasant and well-stated, though lacking capital letters in yours) to somewhat disrespectful due to the ignorant and accusatory nature of other postings.

I hope you see and understand what I, at least, see in this website and in the discussions that occur here. Sure, there’s a lot of banter, but then, there are a lot of stupid hate mail messages sent to Bobby! If there were more direct, informed questions posed, I think you would see more intelligent and composed responses to those messages. Most of us here really want intelligent debate…it just seems that it is generally lacking from the opposition.

Generally, when people from these other religeons post here, they get offended if you don’t immediately see their point of view. Most who post seem to be rather offended and aggressive before a single reply is posted.
While it doesn’t help much that, when asked to view the world from these people’s perspective, some people essentially say they can’t stick their head that far up their ass, there’s also a few people who post stuff worth responding intelligently to. The problem I see is that the intelligent opponents to this point of view are far outweighed by the people who just rant, piss, moan, bitch and complain about the very existence of the FSM. These are the people I antagonize delightfully.

There is no intelligent discussion needed. Evolution is Scientific Fact like 1+1=2 is Mathematical Fact.
Intelligent Design is just another word for getting Genesis taught in the classroom, where it does not belong.
