Probably the same kind of men who came up with Jahweh and Allah.
    .
All we ask from you is to proof the Flying Spaghetti Monster does not exist and we’ll drop our religion on the spot. That’s it.

  3. 23 perverted sicko Feb 18th, 2008 at 3:45 pm

right on! saying a flying spaghetti monster exists is like telling stories about someone walking over water or something like that. :D

Is this guy for real? I mean, SERIOUSLY. Virgin births, talking snakes, magical fruit, zombies? Where did he come up with that?

For hate mail, your spelling and grammar are great! And-
-You didn’t quote from the bible
-You didn’t tell us we were going burn in hell or to go burn in hell
-You didn’t even mention Christianity in anyway!
-You even somewhat noted that you may have understood that this is a satire!

But it is still somewhat idiotic, you didn’t even raise a point.

May you find his way some day. I propose that you begin by reading the open letter to Kansas School Board on the site!

Seriously man, at least have a look at the open letter page and the about section of this website. It’s all there.
Essentially FSM was something Mr Henderson pulled out of his ass. It could have easily have been Swimming Meatloaf Fairy, or Burrowing Couscous Gerbil. Who knows, in a parralel universe it may well be. Grab a dictionary, look up ’satire’.

Hmmm huh, wow, what an attack, where did he come up with that…
Where did moses come up with the amendments?
How did Abraham mistake a crack of lightening for the voice of god?
How do Christians come up with with the concept of heaven!?
Considering what people come up with, I don’t think a Spaghetti monster is any worse then most of the theocratic BS lingering about these days….
The FSM makes me laugh at lest once a day, that in itself makes it a lot better then the rest.

    Ramen!

string theory stands up better than an old white man with a long white beard loving us yet condeming us to an eternity in hell. SERIOUSLY where did you come up with that????

  13. 33 Johnny Landlubber Feb 18th, 2008 at 11:06 pm

These this ain’t been ‘come up with’ so much as divinely revealed, matie!

  14. 34 Keyblade Feb 19th, 2008 at 12:15 am

Oh, this is funny. I dont know what is funnier, the pagans praising the “Great and mighty pond scum”, or the Italians out there who might be praising their own dinners. Bet you didnt think about it long enough to realize that, did you?

    Duh!

Obviously the religion was created to mock organized religions that exist in the world.

It is nothing new. I assure you that the “followers” of this religion are atheists that are trying to prove a point.

And they DO have a point. Which is the same point that atheists have had for many years: The fact that we do not know nor have factual proof of the existance of a God, nor do we have factual proof that the Christian God is real.

Of course by factual, I mean scientific.

I personally choose to believe that there IS a God. Ironically, for very similar reasons than the atheists who don’t believe. The FACT that there is an unknown infinite dimension that our dual brain (a brain incapable of measuring something infinity, due to not having a logical “limit”) cannot comprenhend, indicates to me that there is an unkown “something” out there that does comprenhend all this. Which I choose to call God.

Also, the fact that scientific dicoveries have all been made within the capabilities of the human mind. However, there are things that cannot be explained with our mind capabilities because they clash with our human logic. For example, the FACT that everything must have a beginning, and an end. The studied theory of evolution starts at one point, and therefore should end at one point. But, using this logic, it is very hard to situate the “beginning” of time….. as even at that particular moment when humanity was created, there had to be something “before” that. Our logic does NOT comprenhend nor visualize a big cement brick if you tried to travel back through time…… there has to be a before…. Always! Or else, what’s there? Nothing? Does “nothing” exist?

Even if “nothing” exists, and by saying nothing we can imagine an empty place without any matter, or a lapse of time where seconds don’t count the same way that they count in this world: Well guess what… even at that particular place or moment of “nothingness”, it becomes “something”. Because it is something outside of what we know. Just the fact that we attribuite it with a name, such as “the unknown”, means it is “something”.

I choose to call it God. That’s what makes LOGICAL sense to me. Of course, just with logic, it is not possible to conclude the existance of a Christian God, or a Jewish God, or a Bhuddist God…. or the spaguetti monster for that matter…. but the important thing to understand is that neither of the mentioned can be proven or disproven…… Consider that ONE of them COULD be right. That is up to you to decide, based on history and your own faith and beliefs.

Purchase the Gospel

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
