those of you who bash Christianity

Published January 21st, 2008 by Bobby Henderson

Those of you who bash Christianity by saying its fake are completely hypocritical by calling them closed minded. I can only imagine what radical Islam believers would say so lets not single out anybody. Live and let live instead of bashing one another why not accept everyone and do your own thing. There are radical conservatives in every religion. Also keep in mind if your a fact based person I would love to see these so called “fake” religions disproved.

Wait… W/C as in “Water Closet”? As in loo? Maybe you should be more tolerant, “Loo”, why single out Islam? Huh?! I mean, why radical Islamists? Why not radical Christians? Or Radical “Religious people”. Why, when someone says “radical” does the word “Islam” spring to some bigot’s mind? You need to be more tolerant! And by the way “W/C”, you need to see a plumber, because there is a whole lot of shit coming out of your mouth. It should be going in.

So, the idea of ominoptence, omnipresence, etc. is interesting. I always like to ask this of Christians at least, because it kind of becomes a catch-22. Does God do things because they are good, or His actions good because He does them? Which becomes an interesting answer, since if God does things because they are good means that God has to answer to a higher power, goodness, and is not omnipotent since he can not do bad things. Or are things good because He does them, which makes goodness arbitrary and up to God only, so if he does something which is obviously bad, i.e. allows a person to get raped and eaten alive, then that must be good. So, its an interesting question, and reinforces the idea of faith, since faith is believing in something even if you can’t prove it, or argue logically.

Just something short to say to the original poster. You say that if we just accept everyone for who they are and don’t bother anyone with this stuff the world would be a better place. When I can’t even count the number of times throughout my life that I have had religion pushed on me. Whether its people going door to door or just talking to people that believe I am wrong for not believing in Christianity. So I think it is a little hypocritical. Especially when you came to this site on your own.

Well I can say they’re closed minded. The Bible, the Quran, the Egyptian Book of the Dead…ect. They all have similar stories and all have similar contradictions.

The two dominant religions in the world (Christianity and Islam) use contradictions (along with science, and logic) to contravene the existence of pagan deities like Zeus, Poseidon, Santa Clause… I could go on… BUT if anyone uses these methods against “your” god, well we all know the result of that.

Aside from all that, the fact that you believe in one deity and not the other is solely based on the time and location you were born.

and I was born on a PIRATE SHIP….AAARRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!

may the rest of your life be noodly

    p.s.

“Live and let live” might be a nice personal motto but when it comes to the masses, it sounds more like “be thar on me ship or be there the plank arrrrr”

Ah, but it is not for “us” to disprove but for you who believe in it to prove.

    Ok, so now you believe.

    lol, again, now what?

Dumb. you have no basis for your beliefs and i hope the lord sends you all straight to hell

It’s not our burden to prove. It is your religion who is asserting the presence of something no one can see, and so the onus is on you to prove it exists, since you say it does.

And if you go and point to your books and say “this here proves it”. No dice. That’s just the assertion of someone long dead who wrote their unfounded assertions down. They haven’t proven anything either.

They had visions? God spoke to them, you say? Lots of people say that today. They are locked up and under medication. Back then, they were “prophets”.

Please, just a few things, prove one or two things, without circular logic, in a repeatable, objective manner. Is that asking too much?

Just read “The Age of Reason” by Thomas Paine and it does disprove the bible old and new testements and I believe the the same reasoning could be used to disprove the Koran and any other human made religious writtings ‘from God’. My God is bigger than writing.
