Hilary Matheson of The Journal-Standard has written an article about Online Worship. He covers The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster and The Church of Google.
I’m quoted a few times:
Pastafarianism is a sensible alternative religion for some people. We offer spirituality and community, without the traps of dogma; no one has ever killed in the name of Pastafarianism, for instance.
And this one:
Some people feel mocked, but that was never my intent. I’m all for freedom of religion. I have not problems with Christians or creationism ideology, to the extent that they keep their beliefs out of public policy. There is no state-sponsored religion-some people don’t want to accept it.
And the best one:
Religion doesn’t have to make sense. You have to have faith. There’s all sorts of things that don’t make any sense in FSM. It’s fine. I contradict myself all the time. You can get away with anything in the religion business.
Here’s the article, you may find it interesting.
(By the way, my Physics degree is Bachelor of Science, not Arts – not that it matters).

wow, i must say the scientific evidence in favor of googlism is quite outstanding. I think it is our duty as Pirates to draw more graphs and fine-tune data to point in the direction of His Noodleness if we want to maintain the illusion of a scientifically backed religion. Or we chould just buy some celebrities.
.
I would go further and say making sense is a positive hinderance for religions.
I was moved by this part of the article:

Boulton wasn’t always an atheist; he said he rarely gave much thought to religion or others beliefs until he began military service in Northern Ireland during the “Troubles,” – violence between Protestants and Catholics from 1963 to 1985 according to BBC online.
“I personally became sick to my back teeth of people professing their faith and belief in a loving God who then went out to murder and maim people because they went to the wrong church,” Boulton said.

I’m so proud of us. Excellent representation!!
RAmen!!
Hahahah, that last quote of you is epic. Nicely versed.
“”We believe that God created the world, but we don’t have to believe it was seven, twenty-four hour days, at least not at my church,” Hill said.”"
.
That’s the funny part of Christianity:
“we believe the bible… until we realy think it doesn’t make sense, then we don’t believe those parts. We give it another meaning and there you go.”
I killed a whole plate of linguine tonight, and then I went back for seconds and killed that serving too. Would that mean I’ve killed a couple of times in the name of Pastafarianism?
@All Free Do
Depends on interpretation, but most pastafarians will say no.
