Yet another concerned, hypocritical Christain. Isn’t one of the main parts of Christianity “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”?

Amusing when the use of the word “stupid” comes in close proximity to the improper use of an apostrophe. Mixing too much beer with a bible produces posts like this.

I really do love these notes from the idiots who think they have a right say as to what individuals believe.
Personally I believe in both the FSM and God and that crap.
However, I know how to take a joke.
And most of the time believe in the FSM more.
I really wish people would just lighten the hell up once in a while, maybe then they could see the error of their ways.

I wonder if the foam flying from his lips causes the keys on his keyboard to get all sticky. It must really suck going through life stupid and angry.

I think this also qualifies as corroborative proof of my evolving theory about the incompatibility of proper spelling and grammar with xianity. I may decide to modify the theory to include other religions, but I’ll have to see some evidence first. Unlike SOME people I could mention, who seem averse to basing their conclusions on evidence (or the lack thereof)…

    Peace, fellow Pastafarians.
There are many zealots who have been indoctrinated into their particular religious beliefs from their very young childhood. Not taught. Indoctrinated. There is a difference between learning and brainwashing (indoctrination).
To challenge that which they believe, is paramount to them questioning their very existence, their core values and unlocking the emotional baggage tied up with well meaning parents shoving this stuff down their wee throats and into their heads.
This process of ‘teaching’ children about imaginary and vengeful and all powerful beings almost entirely removes the choice these children have. They have not made a choice to believe it, they were just usefully unwitting recipients of that particular belief system. The fear of being cast to hell has bound them in a noose of fear, martyrdom, guilt and obligation with images of a bleeding (and quite unlucky) Jesus, a beast with horns, the apocalypse, etc.
No wonder the unnecessary anger, no wonder the CAPSLOCK, no wonder the attack when no attack is necessary.

Spaghetti is indeed something to take in via the mouth and then …ahem…’poop’ out later. The bible is something you take in via the eyes and ears and then vomit out along with bile and hate. I know which one I prefer.

Since I do believe the Bible and believe that God created the universe, I am grieving over c’s attitude. There are many who are Believers who don’t have the “bile and hate” exemplified here. I agree that he probably has not examined his beliefs and made them his own. You all FSMers, please remember that people who call themselves Christians are imperfect, flawed human beings. We all have our own baggage to deal with. And since God is a Gentleman, He lets us deal with it in our own time, while He does what He can to encourage us to do something with it sooner rather than later. You might try reading the Bible–start with John’s Gospel in the New Testament. Examine Jesus Himself, not the imperfect humans who follow Him. :)

    .
Welcome to the church of the FSM. You might be surprised to learn that many of the atheists here have read the bible. And can sometimes run circles around ‘christians’ when it comes to their knowledge of it. There’s not too many that are raised as strong atheists (personally, I grew up in a Catholic family). Many would have come to an atheist stance exactly because they read the bible. And they read what it said, rather than the sometimes hugely creative interpretations that christians will come up with to work around the incorrect or very ugly parts of it.

    Re Biblegirl48:
You could also start with the Gospel of the FSM. If you’re touched by his Noodliness, you not only go to Heaven (there are Beer Vulcanoes!) but your life will be much better too.
Example 1: the FSM doesn’t need worship. Go hug your mom instead.
Example 2: You will be open to other ideas, they’re not that scary. Really.

Biblegirl48, I applaud your ability to use complete sentences, a spell checker, and proper use of the caps lock key. We know many christians are kind, caring, respectfull people such as yourself. However, you are the exception to what we usually see. “c” is an example of the average Christian that posts on this sight. Despite what you think, many of us have read the entire Bible. I used to be a Christian myself up until 2 months ago.

Purchase the Gospel

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
