Did Moses see the FSM?

A very clever man who I know only as Theologikos has made the claim that Moses did not see a Burning Bush, but instead our Flying Spaghetti Monster.

He makes the argument that Moses may simply have had bad eyesight. If this was the case, what looked like a Burning Bush could easily have been the FSM.

With perfect vision, it’s easy to tell the two apart:

But with bad eyesight, the two look very similar:

I’m convinced. Thank you, Theologikos.

Obviously that is what happened, as there is no other logical explanation. More proof of his existence.

I’m reminded of Ezekiel and the “flaming wheel” he saw in the sky. Isn’t it far more likely that he, too, saw Our Noodly Lord? In those days, before the advent of visual advertising media, there’s a good chance ol’ Zeke had never seen pasta, and so his poor little mind grasped at the first similar thing in his experience as an explanation. Truly, the FSM is omnipresent.

I loved that Yoda was the next step in the evolutionary line after Jesus. More powerful than Jesus, he is.

Unfortunately, both evolution and intelligent design both are outstripped by FSM on google trends. The good news is, at least evolution is kicking but overall (by several orders of magnitude)

Fiery bush, spicy sauce. A plausible explanation with pleasing symmetry. Works for me.

This seems entirely rational. People must often mistake his beautifully red sauce and and wiggling noodles as fire. I can’t tell the difference at all in the second rendition. Huzzah for the truth!

Sadly, I am afraid Moses was terribly misunderstood. What he actually meant when he said he saw a burning bush talking was this:

It was in the news paper that when Moses came down from the mountain and there was all the thunder and trumpets, it was just because the Jews had been snacking on a very potent hallucinogenic plant that grows in the area it supposedly took place, not God they were just stoned.

Purchase the Gospel

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
