Holiday festivities

These make me happy. I have lots more - I’ll add them asap.

From Sharon in Milwaukie:

I just wanted to email and share my and my fiance’s Holiday Tree complete with FSM tree topper. Please see the attached pictures. Have a Happy Holiday!

From Amy:

Greetings!
I wanted to send you pictures of the lovely FSM holiday tree my son and I designed and decorated today.

As has been noted previously in blog discussions, it is possible that Christian usage of the “ball”-type ornament to decorate their holiday trees actually originated as an homage to His divine meatballs and that the garlands or strands of lights used on Christian holiday trees are in fact merely a representation of His noodly appendages. With that in mind, my son Brian and I used white rope lights draped vertically to resemble pasta, and ornament-balls in several meatball-type colors (reds, browns, bronzes).

The tree topper is handmade by Brian, as are the other FSM ornaments on this holiday tree. FYI: I took the pictures today but intend to obtain a pirate flag tomorrow for use as a tree “skirt.”

We really hope you enjoy this. So far, the response has been positive and everyone has respectfully allowed us the freedom to express our religious beliefs at this special time of year.
Thanks for your time.
RAmen.

From Molly:

Under normal circumstances, there’s a pirate fish in my window. However, my roommate and I decided to decorate our dorm room for the holidays, and I felt obligated, seeing as we’re on the first floor and all.

Happy Holiday!

From Tiffany:

Hi, I just wanted to send you a picture of the Merry Christmas and Happy Noodle Year—FSM that I made as a holiday decoration. It’s hanging on the side of my house, holding a banner that says, “Merry Christmas and Happy Noodle Year!” The picture was taken before the banner was hung, but ENJOY!

It looks like the FSM gave birth to that bottle of vino - not to mention the balance of creation.

Purchase the Gospel

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
