Author and blogger John Scalzi has posted an amusing report of his visit to the Creation Museum.
Some time ago he said that he’d visit the museum, which was built near his home, on the condition that his readers donated $250, with the added incentive that any extra money would be given to Americans United for the Separation of Church and State. His readers came through and donated over $5000.
So he went, took a bunch of pictures, and posted a very thorough report.
An excerpt:
Here’s how to understand the Creation Museum:
Imagine, if you will, a load of horseshit. And we’re not talking just your average load of horseshit; no, we’re talking colossal load of horsehit. An epic load of horseshit. The kind of load of horseshit that has accreted over decades and has developed its own sort of ecosystem, from the flyblown chunks at the perimeter, down into the heated and decomposing center, generating explosive levels of methane as bacteria feast merrily on vintage, liquified crap. This is a Herculean load of horseshit, friends, the likes of which has not been seen since the days of Augeas.
You can read his entire report here.

Yes but to be fair it is Nigeria! Not know for their education or recourses per say. I think it’s really inexcusable when it’s not a third world country.
DONE!
@ akai.senshi- “i was laughing so hard at the ‘adam’ picture, with his lamb loincloth…”
I thought he was meant to be fucking it!
Franchising FSM theme parks would be good as then we could reach out to as many people as possible, maybe have one beside the ‘horseshit’ museum in Kentucky as a compare and contrast piece?
Jean Bart makes a good point about Belgian beer- it is very tasty! and the best in my opinion is the monastery beer-could this be one positive aspect of religion and being new here do any disciples of the FSM make beer or other beverages?
Ramen
I got the impression not all of the comments were posted by people living there. Wasn’t one of the ones supporting the ‘miracle worker’ referring to being in the UK. I agree you can understand it from a third world country without education and resources but we’re getting a few too many over here too.
Um, well I haven’t quite got around to trying it yet, Dylan, but a guy I met over the summer gave me a recipe for mead.
.
Oh, and Pluto - maybe not meant to be, but perhaps they employed some non-fundie labourers to set the place up and they just couldn’t resist a spot of sabotage the night before it opened…
@ Dylan_Dog- Kronenbourg 1664!!! The only thing the French do right!
.
@ Jennyanydots - true, but you would have thought they would have changed it later. Then again all gods’ creatures are beautiful! Perhaps it was there for the owners own pleasures?
Hey- Pluto, can I help you build FSM world?? And can i get a job there once it’s built?
ok, I’ll have to sort out a fund(ei). Anyone else want to work for me?
Maybe they superglued it in place to stop people trying to move it to see if the doll was anatomically correct
@Pluto - What do you mean by sort out a fund (ie)?
I kind of enjoy my existing day job, but I could always do shifts in the park bar in the evenings. You were planning a few themed bars, I hope. Just think medieval re-enactment societies for the barmaid uniforms.
Good FSM—I missed a lot while I was writing my essay…
I would work…!
What was your essay, Pam?
WOAH. Anyone here heard of the band “The Mad Caddies”??
They do a lot of pirate-esque music.
It was about Relationships…Psycology class

was anyone aware of this book??
Dagnabbit, I missed so much conversationing. Again. Damn these time differences, and damn school. I wants to be able to function without sleep! It has become clear, however, that this leads to me falling asleep twice in maths, once in art and three times on the bus home. Stupid need for rest…
hahahahahahaah…you will rest when you die..Ayumi-chan
