The New York Times reports:
A woman who sent her Arab-American boss a threatening note that warned ”Remember 9/11” and ”You and your kids will pay” was sentenced Wednesday to eight months in a federal halfway house.
Kia Reid, who described herself as Christian, donned gloves to craft the note from magazine clippings and then left it in Nina Timani’s office, prosecutors said.
I’m surprised by the harsh sentence, but maybe this will curb some of the hate speech we see. You can read the full article here.

Racism at its penultimately worst.

“I think that woman sending that is digusting, and she should be given a custodial sentence – why didn’t she just change jobs?”
.
I agree! I don’t know about now, (havn’t heard a lot of the past complaints about light sentencing here lately), but 8 mnths would have been considered a long sentence for someone with kids here in the past. Lot of women who deserved to have the book thrown at them got very short sentences (month-two months) by pleading their parenthood! One in particular I remember was a mother of 4 selling hard drugs to 13-14yo school kids. Can’t remember her exact sentence, but there was public outrage over its leniency! Do the crime don’t bitch about doing the time IMHO! :p
Hate is by far the ugliest of all human emotion!
Too true.
“Hate is by far the ugliest of all human emotion!”
.
Shock can be pretty gross too.
.
…especially if it’s the kinda shock you get from a Number 59 Bus bouncing over you.
Fear is the smelliest human emotion.
