I’ll make sure I wish my Italian sugar cane farmer neighbors a Happy Pasta Day (today)… for yesterday…they’ll be impressed with me I’m sure :p

Do chinese noodles count? I just had a wonton soup.

  4. 4 Starbuckaneer Oct 25th, 2007 at 12:50 pm

No wonder it’s so cold outside today! All the Pirates are pAARRRtaking of the Sacrament.

  5. 5 Deelawn Oct 25th, 2007 at 12:55 pm

    lmao @ Starbuckaneer

Anyways… I hope this doesn’t mean I have to buy another updated gospel? :(

  6. 6 Starbuckaneer Oct 25th, 2007 at 1:03 pm

Well, if it’s anything like that OTHER gospel.. there will be many new editions… or ADDitions….

  7. 7 Scotty B Oct 25th, 2007 at 1:51 pm

Wait a minute… there are other editions of the gospel? Holy crap! How do I know which version I have and what am I missing?!

Also, there is no ’s’ at the end of the word ‘anyway’

    Thank you, that is all.

  8. 8 ptz911 Oct 25th, 2007 at 1:55 pm

My father is born on the 25th. He must be especially blessed by His noodliness.

  11. 11 Deelawn Oct 25th, 2007 at 3:37 pm

I’ll just put a post-it note in my gospel in the holiday section signifying the occasion (you know, just like how [typically older] people shove notes in their bibles until they are 2x the width)

  12. 12 Noodly0ne Oct 25th, 2007 at 3:44 pm

But the gospel is way cooler!

  13. 13 St John the Blasphemist Oct 25th, 2007 at 4:05 pm

FSMdammit!!! I missed it by a day. It’s the 26th in Australia!!!
    .
Oh well, I can still celebrate the Holy Day of Friday.

Hurray for World Pasta Day, but honestly for fucks sake, it seems people think they can declare anything they sodding well World this Day or International that Day.
We should declare one day a year will be World Not Anything In Particular - You Can Like Your Life Your Way - Day.
    .
Why not World Bleach Day or World Guacamole Day.

  15. 15 Wench Nikkiee Oct 25th, 2007 at 6:13 pm

    “World Guacamole Day”
    .
Yummmm…you have my vote. One of my usual contributions to party favours when hosted by family or friends. Let’s make that one “World Guacamole Day” tacos and nachos ect. once a week. Hmm… or maybe just have a weekly Mexican Day :)

  16. 16 Noodly0ne Oct 25th, 2007 at 6:15 pm

World Death-By-Poison Day. It would get rid of all the people who make up and follow all the stupid “Days”. Though Talk Like a Pirate Day, and World Pasta Day are pretty cool.

  17. 17 Wench Nikkiee Oct 25th, 2007 at 6:20 pm

    “World Death-By-Poison Day.”
    .
Would you care for some Kool-Aid? ;)

  18. 18 Noodly0ne Oct 25th, 2007 at 6:26 pm

Or maybe some nice, cold, lemonade?

  19. 19 Wench Nikkiee Oct 25th, 2007 at 6:29 pm

You think Lemonade will adequately mask that bitter taste?

  20. 20 Noodly0ne Oct 25th, 2007 at 6:30 pm

I typically use 250 mg’s curare to the half-liter. But it’s just personal preference.

  21. 21 Noodly0ne Oct 25th, 2007 at 6:30 pm

    Can’t taste it that way.

  22. 22 Wench Nikkiee Oct 25th, 2007 at 6:37 pm

Sounds yummy. Not sure if I can get hold of any curare in OZ. How bout good old fashioned rat poison?

  23. 23 Noodly0ne Oct 25th, 2007 at 6:38 pm

    Arsenic? OZ is what?

  24. 24 Noodly0ne Oct 25th, 2007 at 6:40 pm

eBay. You can get anything off there. Anything. And the Feds aren’t wise to it. Trust me.

  25. 25 Noodly0ne Oct 25th, 2007 at 6:42 pm

    Oh. Australia. Thank you Wikipedia.

  26. 26 Wench Nikkiee Oct 25th, 2007 at 6:43 pm

    “OZ is what?”
    .
A country…Australia :) Well curare would be much more relaxing but not very effective via ingestion.

  27. 27 lilwench Oct 25th, 2007 at 6:44 pm

Seems many pirates and wenches here have knowledge of Jim Jones and the People’s Temple. And the fundies call FSM-ism a cult. Arrrr.

  28. 28 Noodly0ne Oct 25th, 2007 at 6:44 pm

    See you.

  32. 32 The Donkey From The Moon Oct 25th, 2007 at 7:45 pm

MoonDonkey be proud to have eaten ample amounts of penne today for lunch…heh, i have also used today to post the official pirate-global avg. temp. graphs around my town/school as well as explaining the obvious superiority of out piratic ways to those who know no pasta.

  33. 33 Booty Oct 26th, 2007 at 2:26 am

    Way to go Moondonkey!
By the way - is what they say about Donkeys true? ;)
Sigh - I feel so blessed that I ate pasta without knowing it was World Pasta day - the FSM was clearly guiding me along the right path!

  34. 34 El Peatieablo Oct 26th, 2007 at 8:56 am

    @The Donkey From The Moon
Keep it up, just don’t overdo it and make an astronomical a$$ of yourself (sorry, had to be done).

  37. 37 Midget in Pirate Regalia Oct 27th, 2007 at 5:34 am

Hmm… it would appear that the US also has a National Pasta Day and Month.

  38. 38 Midget in Pirate Regalia Oct 27th, 2007 at 6:42 am

Arrgh: I’d like to disavow that link! I should learn to read things before I link them. That woman slices vegetables and then calls the result ‘pasta’. While I love a good veggie meal, I’m not at all comfortable with such behavior.
    .
And raw foodism is just weird.

    Hey, Thanks for this list.
I know I get two hundred paid holidays a year.
But damned if I knew what any of them are for.
Good to see some of them celebrate pasta.
    .
I thought they were all for Tequila and Beer until this list, thanks again.

my birthday is oct 25, am i blessed?

  44. 44 Midget in Pirate Regalia Oct 27th, 2007 at 9:33 pm

desertpunk: we, who have been touched, are all blessed: but you have been shown special favor. I’m not sure what this gets you, though. Maybe, when you die, you get to skip to the head of the line at the stripper factory.

Or maybe FSM is just screwing with you and you get a lap dance from Cedric the Entertainer.

  45. 45 Jennyanydots Oct 29th, 2007 at 5:54 am

So if I went to an Italian restaurant on Saturday night and didn’t have pasta, do I have to do penance of some sort? (I know, I know, but they had swordfish steak on the menu. That’s kind of piratical, surely?) If so, what would you suggest?

Purchase the Gospel

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
