Why sir do you dislike Christians so much

Why sir do you dislike Christians so much that you would create a site willed with such sarcasm and spite? I appologize for all the “Christians” who have found their way onto your hate mail section of your page. Thier actions are not representations of Christ-like living. I mainly just want to know what it is that spurred your actions?

-Ryan

Note from Bobby: I don’t dislike Christians or the religion of Christianity. I dislike dogma and formalism. And I dislike that subset of Christians who push their beliefs on others. And especially those who do this in our schools and government, and then claim that’s not what they’re doing. We are not stupid.

Is it possible that I’ll have the first comment?

  2. 2 The Sparrow Aug 18th, 2007 at 5:01 pm

It is! I can’t belive it. Me, little Dror from Jerusalem, grew to have the first response to something in the FSM site. I’m deeply excited.

I haven’t seen anything in this website that is particularly against the christian faith, but that may be because I wasn’t raised as a fundementalist christian nut.

Yes Sparrow, although the sport of claiming first post became less popular some time ago. But welcome to the church of the FSM anyway. Any chance you could convert your fellow country men in Israel plus the neighbours to Pastafarianism to give the region a bit of a rest perhaps?

  4. 4 The Sparrow Aug 18th, 2007 at 5:09 pm

Well, changes tage time to pass all the way across the atlantic ocean. I’ve been a pastafarian for almost two years, and I’ve even converted some of my friends. Unfortunately, people here are too concentrated on other things to notice his noodly appendage. Maybe a flying hummus monster will do the trick.

As I see this, FSM doesn’t interfere with any religion. It only makes fun of those who claim religion had anything to do with science or that science is a kind of religion!
Science a religion! As far as I know, science is just a tool to figure things out. To say, science is a matter of faith is like saying, you have to believe in a microscope to make it work!
So the real FSM is not against any spirituality, just against dumb fundies.

i like this hate mail. it’s actually well written, and without too much hatred. it’s like the hate mail you find when this site first began, but with little insight. but still, if the others aren’t representatives of christ-like living, why are they mailing in the name of christ? it seems ryan is a minority here.

  7. 7 DutchPastaGuy Aug 18th, 2007 at 5:38 pm

    @Lilith
You’re very right on the lunacy of calling science a religion. A bit look calling ‘bare foot’ a shoe brand.

Let’s hope we never fall into that trap! Eh?

Hey Ryan. It seems you haven’t delved too far into this website if you have to ask questions like “what has spurred your actions?” Try reading the open letter for starters.

This is the nicest hate mail so far.

    Wrong, but pleasant, at least.

Don’t take it too personal Ryan, I don’t focus on hating xtians, I personally loath and despise all religions equally, excepting of course the CoFSM.
    .
My views on the people who make up religions, you know, the general followers or congregations…sometimes I feel sorry for them, other times I am frustrated at their inablility to see reality, and many times I just think they are sheep, allowing their lives to be controlled by which ever particular brand of evil they allow into their lives.
    .
My views on the leaders of religions…I think they are a bunch of controlling scum eating, bastards out for their own personal gain.

Nice to see another christian claiming that th haters are not representative, have got it wrong etc etc. THEY are always the ones who know what christ would have wanted and how to behave…. But you see Ryan, thats exactly what the others claim too :)

I didn’t know claiming first post had lost popularity.
I just thought because Bobby only opens selected items for comments/posts our sport was restricted.
Congratulations The Sparrow, DPG and Lilith!

I don’t dislike xtians, in fact some of my best friends are xtians (sadly). But I do LOATHE christianity and it’s ridiculous claims and unhelpful influence over the lives of individuals and the politics of the world.

poor grammar - just ranting a bit.

  19. 19 Red Dutch Pasta Wench Aug 19th, 2007 at 8:12 am

It’s ok Beardyoldgit, we all have the need to rant a bit every now and again. The FSM allows that sort of thing :)

Purchase the Gospel

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
