Why sir do you dislike Christians so much

Why sir do you dislike Christians so much that you would create a site willed with such sarcasm and spite? I appologize for all the “Christians” who have found their way onto your hate mail section of your page. Thier actions are not representations of Christ-like living. I mainly just want to know what it is that spurred your actions?

-Ryan

Note from Bobby: I don’t dislike Christians or the religion of Christianity. I dislike dogma and formalism. And I dislike that subset of Christians who push their beliefs on others. And especially those who do this in our schools and government, and then claim that’s not what they’re doing. We are not stupid.

    @z
“……..promoting christianity as the _only_ religion when there are other perfectly valid ones out there……………”
    .
I assume that was a typing error and should have read ‘when there are other perfectly invalid ones out there’?

Well, it depends. Religions aren’t really valid in a “that might almost make some inkling of sense” type of way, but they can be valid in the religious sense (remember, when talking about religions, you have to lower your standards, a lot).

    @El Peatieablo
Ok, I see your point, hahaha.

    greetings to all the pastafarians,

His noodly appendages have reached India too. though now i am in USA, i will be going to India this dec. I want to spread the teachings and love of the flying spaghetti monster. i am sure i can spread the word of FSMism as i feel Hindus will more readily accept him than a christian would do.Come on they believe in so many gods they surely might have place for one more and as time passes they will realise his is the only one. may everyone in this world be touched by his noodly appendages.

I’ve been reading your posts…I’m not in yet but I love the rhetoric. One thing…you seem to not like the way some religion treat others but you seem to be doing your own bashing. What’s up with that? “I’d really rather you didn’t!”

  7. 247 Red Dutchpasta Wench Sep 5th, 2007 at 10:49 pm

Ilovenoodles, read the fourth one. “Eat, then go after the b*****rds”
Well, I’ve eaten rather well, so I’m ready to go! And besides, we’re pirates!

    .
Ours is justified as our religion is supported by hard science: we have the graph.

You’ll have noticed by now that Pastafarian bashing is based on a delicious mixture of varied humour and deep thinking, tied together by profound disliking of stupidity (but approval of some silliness). It may take a while to get used to that (fundies never do), but once you grasp it, you’ll learn a lot about that strange breed called “humanity”, and you’ll probably contribute to that learning too.

    Isn’t that magic?

    Ilovenoodles.
    .
A lot of Pastafarians are mirrors. They reflect other peoples attitudes.
If people are nice to us - then we’re nice to them.
    If not…
    .
    .
One thing is for certain though. The regulars here are the most open-minded, tolerant bunch of tossers I’ve ever had the (mis?)fortune to meet :D Got a few Brights here.
    .
Sure we do a bit of bashing. Often in jest as some of the fundies are Pastafarians having a laugh ( or so I’ve heard). Other times we challenge people’s opinions. Perhaps some of us (again - I include myself) can get a bit over the top. It’s usually warranted.
I’d rather face an electronic flaming than a real one.
    .
Finally - the site’s unmoderated, no power structure. What do you expect?

@ JB and Alchemist - RAmen my pirate friends! Brilliant posts, both.

    I’ll second Rowdiest on that.

  13. 253 A Sad Panda Sep 10th, 2007 at 3:11 pm

Bobby… What is this blasphemy?! You say you dislike dogma?… This is getting dangerously close to breaking character….

  14. 254 Alchemist Sep 10th, 2007 at 4:20 pm

    @ A Sad Panda.
    .
Sadly I agree with you. Not Bobby or the regs - some of the recent posts in favour of us have been as bad as the fundies! I think it’s time for the old guard to reclaim CoFSM.

FINALLY! A church I AGREE WITH!!

Has anyone seen the Eye Idols of Tell Brak? They bear an uncanny resemblance to FSM.

    What do you think?

Purchase the Gospel

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
