I was in margies (you got the right spelling) month before last… touring breweries, choccie factories, and getting as drunk as uni students do. However, according to said widget, I’m in the very specific locale of… Australia 0_o

So anyway, any good debates? I noticed krony was still around but anyone else? (Incidentally, HP and PL seem to have vanished off their little website… so hard to chase a good christian down :| )

    Other than that,
@RDPW, any plans to visit Perth? We may be isolated, but we at least have an interesting cit… wait, no… we have a flowing cit… no… we have a beautif… screw it, I got nothing. If you come to Perth, its because you’re going for the economic extravaganza of the mining boom up north, or the gastronomic delights of the Margaret River wine region down south. Still, we have alright weather…

Yes, next year June. First a convention, my husband is a member of IRSE (international railway signalling engineers)and next year the convention will be in Bangkok. Well, as we are halfway by then it seemed a shame not to visit :) I am SO looking forward to it.

Jingles; sorry no plans for Perth. Probably start in sydney, go by train to brisbane (meet some fellow engineers on the way) then take a car to cairns. By then we will have been away nearly four weeks which we think is lang enough :)
But you never know, if we really like it we just might come back :)

I don’t particularly think OZ is better or worse than anywhere (we do have Bush’s most loyal lapdog for prime minister …… remember?), but if you wanna see unique nature ( possibly culture too :p….umm..that’s a definite ..well you just have to come ehere really…..!) Garrr ☠ me maties, I have a product idea perfect for a Christ-crazed nation of overweight people: low-calorie communion wafers! I call them “I Can’t Believe It’s Not Jesus” and expect to earn large sacks of galleons, swag, and pieces o’ eight when I begin distribution to heaven-bound chubbies and faithful fatties.

Also, regarding the creationist appointed head of the Texas State Board of Education: has it not occurred to any other pirate that we could dramatically improve educational standards in two countries at once by giving Texas back to Mexico? Think about it. Garrr ☠

DPG, just went to that BBC blog, on one of the threads you were in the usual discussion with PB. Unless I’m reading it wrong, but to me it sounds as if he more or less concedes to evolution of birds geatgers! He says to have found an article that feathers did not evolve from scales (and then blabs on about the intermediates). The interesting part is that he and the article do mention evolving, differently, but still evolving! Might be interesting to see his response to that :)))

Which thread was that, ‘Belfasts biblical flood’? I had some very good help there from Dylan Dog and John Wright. Together we took him apart rather well I think. Poor blog moderator who has to read through it all.
But pb is unlikely to ever see sense. He has of course contradicted himself and put up things that actually support evolution as you say, but logic and knowledge were never part of his waste of posts in the first place. Why start being bothered by them later than?

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
