Can’t take credit for that one, I hear it everyday on the local 80’s tribute station at work! Plus Xzibit used a sample of it for the ‘man Vs Machine’ album.

I can’t be bothered reading everything since my last post, so i’ll just go with where i left off. Hate is a wonderful, magical thing. it’s what drives us to enact vengeance on individuals which drive us to suck an act. when the antagonist learns their lesson, say from their light bulbs being filled with napalm, they have successfully learned not to piss you off. Vengeance is like house training idiots, delinquents and general arseholes, therefore making society better. the driving force behind the embetterment of man, is hatred.
Pluto, you also pointed out quite rightly that all of the best inventions were created in a time of war. i don’t like war, but yes that is an upside. it also gets the world economy going again, as shown by WWII bringing us out of the great depression. That boost has kept the world economy going strong ever since. Thankyou hate, i love you.

  10. 560 - me - Oct 11th, 2007

    Dear Pluto and people,
First Pluto I would like to correct you, I am not a he, and I am indeed a she. I would also like you to know I did not come to this site to argue or try to push my beliefs on you or anyone else for that matter. I was told about this site by a friend of mine who said, “It is a pretty cool thing they are doing to fight the system.” Like I previously stated in my blogs was I agree intelligent design should not be taught in schools and “Christians” coming to this site should not bad mouth or make such angry statements. Like I said previously, to be a Christian is to be “Christ-Like”. Unfortunately not all people claiming beliefs follow what their teachings tell them. When Iron Bess asked me questions regarding what I believed I assumed Iron Bess wanted an answer.

Now I think all can agree that people have a tendency to be cruel and unreasonable. All evil things done in this world need excuses, Hitler wanted a pure race, and vengeance. 911 was to rid the world of infidels and fight back against the wrongs done to them. Spanish Inquisition: God and Country, whatever people suck, that’s kind of the whole moral behind spiritual belief, we suck but God can make us better.

I, once again, I believe in Yahweh, the Lord and God, creator of heaven and Earth. Why? Because He feels real to me. Once again Faith not fact, but fact to me.

Now when people say God is cruel and angry and mean. It is because of Christians not the God of Christians. If these Christians followed the Bible this is what they would know and do:
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35
“I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you. To him who strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic either. Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back. And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise.
“…if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. … But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.
“Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.
“…And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not perceive the plank in your own eye?” Luke 6:27-41

Now wouldn’t the whole world be a lot happier if everyone followed this rule?
As far as what Jesus tells us to do, our most important commandments:
When Jesus was asked by the quarrelling scribes, “Which commandment is the first of all?” He had this to tell them, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with your entire mind, and with all your strength. The second is this, You shall love you neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these” (Mark 12:28-31).
There is no other greater commandment than these; to love is the most important, how can you argue with that?

    Science aspect anyone?
Why God Won’t Go Away: Brain Science and the Biology of Belief
In Why God Won’t Go Away authors Andrew Newberg, M.D., Eugene D’Aquili, M.D., and Vince Rause
Researchers Newberg and D’Aquili used high-tech imaging devices to peer into the brains of meditating Buddhists and Franciscan nuns. As the data and brain photographs flowed in, the researchers began to find solid evidence that the mystical experiences of the subjects “were not the result of some fabrication, or simple wishful thinking, but were associated instead with a series of observable neurological events,” explains Newberg. “In other words, mystical experience is biologically, observably, and scientifically real…. Gradually, we shaped a hypothesis that suggests that spiritual experience, at its very root, is intimately interwoven with human biology.”–Gail Hudson
    Anyone care to explain?
“A six-inch-high porcelain statue began weeping tears of blood. The liquid staining the image is genuinely blood, and human at that. The Santiago coroner’s office pronounced the substance is type O-4 human blood. The statue weeps regularly, particularly in the presence of children.”
(Source: The Guardian, UK, 4 December 1992)
It was confirmed by doctors attached to the police Criminal Investigation Department that the mysterious red liquid, which flows from the eyes of a statue of the Virgin Mary belonging to a Chilean woman, is indeed human blood. It was stated by Dr Inelia Chacon that three samples of the liquid examined in a laboratory were shown to be blood.
The small blue and white porcelain statue belongs to Olga Rodriguez, a housewife from the working class La Cisterna district in the south of Santiago. Since 14 November, when the tears of blood were seen for the first time, the modest home of Mrs. Rodriguez has become the main attraction for residents of the district. The Church has refused to take up a position concerning this strange phenomenon. (From: L’Impartial, Switzerland)

The use of the term ’son’ was often used in the sense of a ‘descendant’ or a head of a household’s relative living under the same roof. An example of this in the Hebrew Bible would be Manasseh, who was described in Numbers 32:41, Deuteronomy 3:14 and 1st Kings 4:13 as the ’son’ of Jair. However, it is revealed in 1st Chronicles 2:21-23 and 7:14-15 that he is actually the distant son-in-law of Jair. Thus calling Jesus the ’son of Joseph’ could be interpreted to mean Jesus was a member of Joseph’s household without being a biological son.

In reference to your previous question Pluto

@Me – sorry but I don’t actually recall asking you about your beliefs or asking you any questions. If I did and did not acknowledge your answers I am sorry. I know that annoys me when it happens to me. My recollections of the posts were an exchange of points of view.
    .
I do want to tell you that you are more than welcome to be here. And you are even more welcome to quit regurgitating biblical pharses. They do not mean anything to a person who does not believe most of the crap written there. It is a poorly written and poorly edited book of short stories and fairy tales.
    .
I also want to advise you to be careful about what you post as science. This site is rife with people who are highly intelligent and fanatically commited to all things scientific and will give you both barrels when you try to bullshit them. Or post bullshit not well researched.
    .
You seem to be a lot more reasonable then some of the fundies that come to this site, so it makes me sad that you are so deluded with fantasies that it affects your everyday life.
    .
When you say that people have done many things evil in the name of god, it gives god and xians a bad rap, don’t dispair, people will use any excuse possible to try and justify their actions. You xians definitely do not have that market cornered. Shitty teachers give teaching a bad name, bad cops give police a bad name, shady lawyers give lawyers a bad rap, etc. You get my point. My only hope is that if we can finally rid ourselves of the evil that is religion, people will have to try a little harder to do some of the really horrendous things they do now, in the name of their particular brand of invisible sky fairy (god). And it may end up being a lot less justifiable to the masses.

People I really hope we aren’t getting into arguing about the inconsistancies of the bible again? I’d rather get into discussions about almost anything else. Next thing you know we’ll have to drag forth the million megabites of scientific data on why it would have been physically impossible to cover the earth in water higher than Mount Everest again. Or even worse, why jeebus loves us.

  16. 566 - Noodly Servant - Oct 11th, 2007

If anyone is really wanting to argue the inconsistencies of the Bible, the oh so many of them, I would stress the point – Christians don’t care. They will believe what they want and little could change that because most don’t rationally approach religion.
    .
Example: Bill Nye gave a speech in Waco and was booed because he, using science and fact, stated that the moon does not produce, but rather reflects light. This fact questions the literal translation of Genesis 1:16 and yes he was booed for that reason, by irrational Christians.

So if your compelled to argue please know that it really won’t do too much.. I know it is fun though :)

@Noodly Servant – ‘Bill Nye gave a speech in Waco and was booed because he, using science and fact, stated that the moon does not produce, but rather reflects light.’ Thank you for that Noodly. Can you imagine people being so bent on belief that they would choose to ignore fact over fiction. It gives me a chill down my spine to think how close this world is to the superstition and dark ages. Do we start burning the scientists if they come to contradictory conclusions over some religious script?
    .
Let us hope that reason will be victorious over idiotic religious ideas.

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did.
