I find this sad

I find this sad. And this is coming from a 14 year old girl that has been raised as a Christian. This is stupid. If you wanted to attract attention then do something else. But make up a religion and trying to find information to back it up is just sad. I wonder how you even thought about such thing. Was you bored in your room or something? I wonder how your parents think about this. And honestly why would you want kids or young adults to learn about such thing? Do you want to brain wash them or something with your made up theory? Seriously, just drop the whole thing & find something else to do.

Good day, anonymous

    “Do you want to brain wash them or something with your made up theory?”

    The irony is killing me.

    Tell me, can I ask what evidence you have that the writers (or possibly just one writer) didn’t also make up their own religion?

    Another 14 yr old “I’m a christian, with very firm beliefs in my chosen faith. I also have very firm beliefs in what I dislike about others of my faith. I dislike people who take the bible literally, taking the word of man as the word of god”.
    .
    .
    I could understand if you disagreed with people who take the Bible literally, but what have they done for you to dislike them?
    .
    .
    I agree that the Bible is the word of (many more than one) man, in which case, whose word are you basing your faith on, and how did you come by it?

    REPLY TO ORIGINAL LETTER:
    “But make up a religion and trying to find information to back it up is just sad. I wonder how you even thought about such thing.”

    Have you ever read about intelligent design? Kind of what that is doing.

    “Seriously, just drop the whole thing & find something else to do.”

    Why? It makes people smile every day. Brings people together across with globe with fun, laughter, and pasta.

    I would not tell people to drop Christianity, so why are you telling people to drop pastafarianism? I think the world is large enough to hold people of different colours, faiths, cultures, and interests.
    You say you are a Christian. Thats cool Whatever floats your boat. If you get something out of it and your not hurting anyone else then I’m happy for you. I think this Jesus chappy said something about not judging others. I would say that is a very good rule to live by

    @Everyone:
    Quite posting about her grammar. You were in 9th grade before. It can be odd.

    @Guy above me:
    Everything Jesus says is a “good rule”, including the only way to get to the Father is through Him (Jesus)

  11. 451 Adam Sep 28th, 2007 at 12:28 am

    and why do you attack their person? We are not (well, the real Christians) doing that to you! Please respect her enough and refer to her in proper gender. Thank you.

  12. 452 Commodore Angryy Sep 28th, 2007 at 1:43 am

    @ Adam
    Everything Jesus said was a good rule eh. What about, may he who is without sin cast the first stone? that’d be right, the one person guaranteed to get into heaven is now going to do something violent, and jeapordise his position. Real clever one. Maybe it should have been “May he who is without sin commit a sin, and *quit* making everyone else look bad”. notice i outlined quit there, or perhaps you prefer “quiet” as you posted, ironically in defence of someone else’s grammar. Intelligence is a gift, but not from god, from nature. We’re naturally smart, and correct to point out the follies of others.
    Btw, i could spell in the 9th grade, it’s not that hard.

    @Adam “Everything Jesus says is a “good rule”, including the only way to get to the Father is through Him (Jesus)”
    Thats just your opinion. And you have every right to it. Personally I think the best way to the creator is through pasta, loving, and being kind to each other. Hey, its just as silly as the stuff in the bible and it just might work!

    I guess I was pointing out the rule about not judging others as this seems to be the least favorite for a lot of Christians. The judging of others and telling them how they are going to hell is the most fun part of being a Christian isn’t it? Also that one about giving your money to the poor. Not one of JC’s most popular rules is it?

    @Adam - did you ever read the NT? Jesus and god are supposed to be aspects of the same deity not separate. however, if you think that god and jesus are separate, you are worshipping a false idol when you worship jesus. jesus would be the son of god and not god, ergo, you should not worship him, but god. If you are going to post on your religion, you should actually understand it a little.

  15. 455 LJGrem Sep 28th, 2007 at 6:53 am

    If people want to believe in anything, it is their right to be as silly as they please. I however believe in the following quote:
    After coming into contact with a religious man I always feel I must wash my hands. - Friedrich Nietzsche

  16. 456 Booty Sep 28th, 2007 at 6:58 am

    @Adam - respect is earned, and I don’t see much evidence of her managing that!

  17. 457 Adam Sep 28th, 2007 at 11:31 pm

    @Commodore Angryy:
    I did not spell “Quiet”, nor did I spell “Quit”, I spelt Quite, so get it right before you attack someone else. Now, though Jesus said “Let he who has no sin cast the first stone”, I do believe, rather, I know, as it says in the Bible, that he told her that she was forgiven and not to do that again. (She was in the act of adultery)
    .
    @Davros the Dalek’s chum:
    In your heart, what makes you say that Christianity is silly. Please explain why, in detail, before you ask me to explain why the FSM is silly. Thank you.
    .
    @One-eyed Wonderkin:
    Have you ever heard of the Trinity. They are the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They are all separate, yet one. Jesus is God in flesh, and he was sent so no man can say to God ‘You don’t know how I feel’ or ‘You don’t know the pain I’m going through’. So technically, you are incorrect on your theory.
    .
    @LjGrem:
    uhhh….. k?
    .
    @Booty:
    You seemed to see fit that she deserved none, right from the start. She wasn’t even bashing you.
    .
    Adam

    btw, “Quite”

    1) To the greatest extent; completely: quite alone; not quite finished.
    2) Actually; really: I’m quite positive about it.
    3) To a degree; rather: quite soon; quite tasty.

    Those are the defin. of the word. It is a real word. Thank you very much.

    You say that Pastafarianism brainwashes? I for one believe that all religions are equally valid. Also Christianity brainwashes also I mean if your born into a Christian family your most likely gonna be a Christian. How the heck did you stumble upon this site if you hate it so much anyways? Did you just decide to go out and bash some innocent peoples beliefs? Seriously other people need to just leave other people alone.

Purchase the Gospel

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
