Is the end near?

I did some analysis on global mean temperature vs. the number of pirates and have come to a startling conclusion: Pastafarianism will bring the next ice age!

As demonstrated in the attached graph, by extrapolating the data we find that only 135752 pirates would be required to bring about the next ice age. This number of converts is well within reach! We’re doomed!

But do we actually know that Dumbledore is dead, Zankou? In book one, Snape tells his first year class about what he’s going to teach them in potions: “I can show you how to stopper death.” Think about that… STOPPER DEATH. Could Snape and Dumbledore have had something planned to outwit Voldemort, and part of that was a potion Snape whipped up to help fake Dumbledore’s death in book six?
    .
    Just wondering… :)

“Stopper death” refers to placing a cork in a bottle of poison…I once took it to mean stopping death…IDK why.

JKR has confirmed he’s dead…believe me, i wish he was alive too..he was my favourite character…

Aloha..altho Harry Potter is a fine, upstanding example of junior mage-ness, and his past, present and future exploits are the warp & woof of legend..i’m just a little bit more concerned with the possibility that RW may have to trade in her jolly roger bikini..have you thought about faux-fur lining? Our ever-watchful FSM surely wouldn’t allow the wholesale extirpation of jolly roger bikinis..or any bikinis, for that matter..too many sad Wenches!so be of good cheer &, if possible, avoid de-bikini-izing just yet..RAmen & a respectful hula hip-shake to all..

Well, he mostly killed him because he had to to defeat Voldemort, but he didn’t know it at the time. That’s why so many people were upset that he dies too.

Snape cannot be Harry’s father. We’ve seen Harry’s father twice: once in the Mirror of Erised, and once during the “wand duel” between Harry and Voldemort.

  19. 269 - One-eyed Wonderkin - Jul 2nd, 2007

Of course, Snape could be Harry’s ‘real’ father. I don’t think it is likely, but not beyond possibility. That kind of twist would not fit into the writing style for the story.

It would be better twist if Serious Black was Harry’s real father.

    a) Rowling has told people repeatedly to not go down the ‘real father’ line and that they’ve watched too much blood star wars.
    .
    b) In the Prisoner of Azkabahn Harry mistakes himself for his own father he is such a likeness and his Patronus is in the form of Stag – his fathers animagus form.
    .
Face it. We know who Harry’s parents are and we know they are dead and we know that can not come back. Unless Albus Dumbledore is a stupid old man. Wait a minute…

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
