Is the end near?

I did some analysis on global mean temperature vs. the number of pirates and have come to a startling conclusion: Pastafarianism will bring the next ice age!

As demonstrated in the attached graph, by extrapolating the data we find that only 135752 pirates would be required to bring about the next ice age. This number of converts is well within reach! We’re doomed!

@ ۞ - I’ve had problems with one post - and posted essentially the same thing later on with no trouble. I don’t know what’s going on…
    .
Bobby, I agree with DPG that you should pay attention to what is happening. You have a good thing here and it’s frustrating to try and post any more. Many of us have worked to get people to come to the site, but it’s getting harder to want to bother ourselves, let alone introduce it to more people.

I.e. When I said WTF! I meant WTF, is going on here,
that I can’t post under my normal ISP, yet,
when I use a proxy, ISP. No problems?
    Seems somethings amiss here?
Shoot! I’m not even a bad poster?
    WTF????

    “seasonal glitch”
    .
Haha, yeah! That’s the ticket! :)

Ok, how about this idea: Bobby opens up a thread for problem reporting. If he’s too busy to pay attention to all threads (somewhat understandable, many of us lack the time occasionally) then why not post any problems in a single thread that should only be used for problem reporting so that it doesn’t get snowed under with our regular fun.

It won’t work DPG, Shit, Bobby can’t be arsed with our emails.
He sure as hell dosen’t have time for that.

  6. 326 Loki Jul 5th, 2007 at 2:45 pm

This has failed to post three times under my usual IP - I’m now using a spoof IP, a false email and a different name
    - let’s see :)

DPG - good idea but one problem. He doesn’t respond. Not to emails, threads on the forum or here. Last time I said this I got slated - oooh, Bobby is busy, Bobby spoke to us last week, Prophet Bobby is spreading the work - etc.
    Yeah, well!

    Gosh - There’s a surprise!

I think somehow the title of this thread fits very well :(
Shouldn’t a filter go after the content and not after people posting it???

I’m taking over from my pals Rufus T. Firefly, Captain Jeffrey T. Spaulding and Prof. Quincy Adams Wagstaff, whose posts are being censored. If this doesn’t work, my collegue Otis B. Driftwood will have to try.

So, I can get through from a different computer! Is this a way of promoting the computer trade? Three computers for each citizen, no less! I’ll tell my pal Jean Bart about this!

You’re right, Dr., this can’t be the way to Enlighten the citizens’ spirits!

Hi Doctor Hugo - wonder if this one of mine will get moderated?

    Your comment is awaiting moderation.”

OK folks - Someone’s being nasty! Don’t like critisism eh?

  17. 337 Rufus T. Firefly Jul 5th, 2007 at 3:34 pm

C’mon, Hugo, let me use your computer, so I can see if I can post without having my posts moderated, like two days ago. In my next post I will put the quote that might have caused the moderation. It contains a word that shouldn’t be used under age four!

  18. 338 Rufus T. Firefly Jul 5th, 2007 at 3:37 pm

Here’s the quote with which I’d like to close my day:
    .
You’re a brave man. Go and break through the lines. And remember, while you’re out there risking your life and limb through shot and shell, we’ll be in be in here thinking what a sucker you are.

    Most serious post to Bobby…
Dude, you’ve got a good thing here,
you’ve got devoted followers who have gone way out of their way,
    and sold T-shirts for you.
    .
They don’t ask for much, just a little respect now and then.
    So far, you’ve ignored them.
Don’t fall over when they take the FSM (your idea)
and make something of it. Yeah, it could happen.
Just trying to help you here Bobby.
    .
    Your Friend,
    Peter Popoff

I have it on good authority that my evil twin *Alchemist* posted
    .
“What causes the moderation - thought crime?”
    .
It didn’t post! Whaaaaaa :) I’m shocked! Hands up all the cynics here.

Purchase the Gospel

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
