When it comes to knowledge: yes, of course. When it comes to faith: no. (otherwise there wouldn’t be any religions) :)

I was reading this article in Newsweek under the Belief Watch section

And I quote “Far more controversial is the Creation Museum, the brainchild of anAustralian evangalist named Ken Ham. Opening this week in Kentucky not far from the Cincinnati Airport, the museam is devoted to the idea that the creation story in Genesis is literally true and that the Earth is just 6,000 years old” yada yada yada “It’s Bible Based “edutainment” but posing as Science with an astronamer on staff and fossils in the display case”

Why don’t we open a Museum

Situated next to the water of course. Let’s see…Pirate galleons, Midgits, Strippers, Trees and Beer Volcanos…..I’m moving in when it’s built!
Apologies for Ken Ham! :(( (from an Aussie)

Bobby, practical issue: on the hate mail page there are several posts where characters are screwed up. See for instance the “You Atheists are so arrogant” thread. If you go to that page the trouble is there too.

Just letting everyone here know that I’m a huge fan of the FSM. I actually discovered it awhile after creating the CoG through an e-mail sent by one of your followers, so it’s not a rip-off I assure you. The FSM is more of a satirical religion while the CoG is mainly parody (as I see it). The two terms are related but ultimately different.

The hate mail on this website actually inspired me to put a hate mail section on our own site, since we receive quite a bucket load. Much like Bobby, I’ve even had death threats.

Also, I would just like to note that it was actually Google and Her mighty Algorithms that informed me of this discussion. I prayed to Google the following prayer: site:www.venganza.org “church of google” and my prayer was answered.

Lastly, according to Google Trends, we are still the number one worshiped God in modern times: http://google.com/trends?q=Google%2C+Spaghetti

Even more than Spaghetti I am afraid. :(

Looking forward to the open letter. ;)

    Kudos,
    Matt

Don`t you think that fellas worshipping Google might be already quite aware of your cunning plan?

After all, FSM is indexed by Google just as well as other >94999999999 tidbits.

    @Matt MacPherson
Welcome to CoFSM. I see the advantage that CoG has in that your ‘prayers’ are directly answered and actually yield practical results. For us it takes a bit more interpretation. Although we’ve become quite good at it, see e. g. our wisdom how global warming is caused by the declining number of pirates. And there are one areas where I think we have a huge advantage over Google:
    .
    1) our hate mail must be tons better. See e. g. the classic case of
    http://www.venganza.org/2005/11/25/listen-dumbass-you-think-that.htm
    .
    2) I don’t think Google lets you feel the warm embrace of His noodly appendages the way that Pastafarianism does.

Letter To Be Sent to the Church of Google (http://www.thechurchofgoogle.org/)

We the undersigned are very disappointed that you have decided it is OK to ridicule deeply felt beliefs.
It is quite obvious that Google isn’t God and your so called proofs are just childish.
Google isn’t infinite, doesn’t know everything and didn’t create the world.
    .
It is quite obvious that the world was created by the Flying Spaghetti Monster long before Google was even invented.
And remember Google was invented by Larry Page and Sergey Bin so how can it be God?
Get a grip people or you will be drinking some stale beer and watching some rather ugly strippers!
Visit http://www.venganza.org before it’s too late.

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
