The 4-Hour Workweek

4hourworkweek.jpg

I just read this book titled The 4-Hour Workweek by Tim Ferriss. It’s by far the best business/productivity book I’ve ever read. It’s all about cutting out the garbage that robs your time, and pursuing the things that matter.

I think maybe I liked it so much because I’ve been trying to avoid a “real job” so hard for the last couple years.

There’s a lot of really important, counter-intuitive ideas laid out in this book. Like, for instance: Busyness is a form of laziness to avoid doing the important things you need to do. I have days where I check my email 10+ times a day, and get nothing done.

If you’re interested in this kind of stuff, and I suspect a lot of Pastafarians are, check out Tim’s blog here. Or go buy the book here.

People with impeccable spelling like you, Aristotle, are allowed the occasional typo. Of course, I myself never even make typos… *Beth sticks nose in air*

Erm….just one itsy bitsy detail….I hate to even mention it because of your beautiful delicate surgery……but the FSM’s name is not linked to his main Uncylo article.
Keep up the good work. (:))

    I love Pratchett.
Somehow I think you find there’s a hell of a lot of Pratchett fans on CoFSM…

I agree, maybe we should invite him over or something?

    Hello all,

I wasn’t sure where to post this but since there’s some activity here I thought it’d be best. I submitted some FSM artwork to Mr.Henderson back in Feb. I worked on the artwork over the course of a month and was proud to present the finished piece to him in hopes that he would actually use it for something. After sending emails and even uploading the artwork through his Submit Art option on this site, I never heard a word from him. From what I gather, this is not uncommon because he is very busy. That’s certainly understandable.

What bothers me is that since I stopped attempting to contact him, he has posted other fsm artwork consisting mostly of someone else’s artwork with the fsm Photoshopped in. My ancient piece of “discovered” fsm artwork is all originally and I worked very hard on it. Anyways, I just wanted to vent here I guess.

If you want to see the artwork check it out at http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/50245018/

    Thanks.

Wow, TestingPointDesign! That’s a great piece of ancient history, you created there!! Very good!
It’s sad that you weren’t honored by the prophet, but he made some new posts recently, maybe he wants to safe some stuff for later?!

Nice look TPD! Sorry you weren’t chosen, that sucks :(
Were there some other images? I only found the one, but I am known to be a bit dim in searching for things!

    @ TPD - Good work!

@ BCA - I think the slogan does need some work!!

Purchase the Gospel

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
