New chart

I made a newer, shinier, Temperature Vs. Pirates chart. It’s being printed in the college text “The Presence of Others“.

Cool. Looks even better than the original.

  2. 2 - Ken - May 16th, 2007

One thing that bothers me - shouldn’t the x-axis show time (instead of number of pirates) and the points on the graph show number of pirates (instead of time)?

  3. 3 - Twinky Winky - May 16th, 2007

Nice! Woo hoo I got third post!

  4. 4 - Loki - May 16th, 2007

Have a look at the FAQs, Sore pAncake. Hi, btw :)

  8. 8 - Twinky Winky - May 16th, 2007

Why do people have a problem with this chart?
I’ve heard this before? I have no problem reading it?
Of course I looked it up first.

  9. 9 - Loki - May 16th, 2007

Works for me - first draw your curve, then plot your data - standard practice I thought!

  10. 10 - Avatar of Reason - May 16th, 2007

This is what makes FSMism better than other religions. We don’t merely have graphs, we have up-to-date, cool, piratey graphs.

  11. 11 - kev3056 - May 16th, 2007

Isn’t it the same as coming up with facts to support your predetermined conclusion? That’s how science works after all.

  12. 12 - Loki - May 16th, 2007

kev3056 - this is religion here, not science! That’s how religion works isn’t it?

  13. 13 - kev3056 - May 16th, 2007

Of course, but only the ones with lots of facts!

  14. 14 - Wench Nikkiee - May 16th, 2007

Other religions go on facts? Do tell :))

  15. 15 - Wench Beth - May 16th, 2007

Shouldn’t there be some tiny, hidden icons in the new chart somewhere? Like jolly fish, or skull and crossbones — so small that only FSM’ers know where to look for them? That would be cool.

  16. 16 - Wench Beth - May 16th, 2007

By the way, does anyone know how Noodlefest went? Prophet Bobby, can you post some information/pictures on Noodlefest? Inquiring Pastafarians want to know!

  17. 17 - Dan - May 17th, 2007

Cowabunga! now THAT is a chart..obviously evolved from bowls of data & tureens of theory..& not “created” ex nihilo like some other “design” i could mention..may we all be TBHNA..

  18. 18 - Professor B♥♥ty - May 17th, 2007

Dan - is that you CNSTBHNA?
    I am so confused :( ;)
Nice graph, Bobby - very convincing and mathematical :D
And I should know, I AM a professor!

  19. 19 - KirkH - May 17th, 2007

You may want to look into a concealed weapons permit. Or at the very least get a tazer. No sense living in fear.

  20. 20 - Arg Sayer - May 17th, 2007

I’m confused. The number of pirates increased between 1820 and 1860, but so did global warming! Is this FSM working in mysterious ways or a typo?

  21. 21 - Pope Pixel the Vertebrate - May 17th, 2007

    Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiny…
It looks the exact same to me, or at least for the most part the same.

Yo Pixel - test post here. Server’s been down a lot today.

  23. 23 - Pope Pixel the Vertebrate - May 17th, 2007

Yeah, I hear ya there. I checked here earlier and got the error page, BOTH of them!!!

  24. 24 - Alchemist - May 17th, 2007

Pixel - Do ya think Bobby needs to up the bandwidth? Maybe that’s the reason for tricking people to this site so we can convert them? Extra revenue to pay for extra bandwidth.
    .
Hey, maybe the chat server could be reinstalled then :)))

    .
You’re absolutely right. There goes the shiny graph! Or did the FSM intervene there, making figures look different from what they are?
    .
RAmen to your sharp eye: you’re going in the crow’s nest of Bobby’s vessel!

  26. 26 - Pope Pixel the Vertebrate - May 17th, 2007

    @Alchemist
I think you might be being just a tad optimistic, though I am hoping to get the chat back.

  30. 30 - Wench Beth - May 17th, 2007

What’s been going on with this site today? I’ve gotten a handful of error messages.

  31. 31 - Jonny - May 20th, 2007

The dodgy number of pirates there is to get people from other religions to question our small error so that we can point out massive errors in their religion and thus convert those willing to listen to our much more believable religion.
    .
It’s all part of the FSM’s great plan.

The new chart means nothing if we don’t have our “Recent Comments” to refer to! Please bring it back, Prophet Bobby, so that we can properly worship at the CoFSM!!

    I concur…

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
