Woah….that is just so..so…dumb. Really, it is. I hope no one actually thinks that that graph has any purpose, or credibility. Global warming and pirates have nothing in correlation. The reason global temperatures have increased is due to (not only just greenhouse gas, which actually do not contribute much overall) the earth’s natural process of heating and cooling. Pirate numbers have decreased because the practice is far less accepted and is more easily restricted. I don’t mean to sound rude, well actually I do. That’s bullshit, all of it. Seriously. I’d rather you believe in no higher power, and have good morales, than worship dinner.
-sean

The graph serves a great purpose. It makes our religion more credible than most other religions. While it is possible that there is a lurking variable (time), it is quite probable that the most important cause for the inverse correlation is the FSM.

wooh…this statement is just so.. so.. dumb.
It flies in the face of all serious science.
Just went to an event this morning and heard from experts on the subject. I live near Woods Hole oceanographic, MBL, NOAA, and others. Lots of those folks were there.
I guess if you consider us humans as evolutionary beings then our wastes are natural. But since its far more likely we were created by the touch of His Noodly Appendege….

Hi folks.
I have only just discovered the church of the FSM and read Sean’s post with much glee. He is a silly person. I live and work surrounded by silly people. My advice is to ignore them (and perhaps pray to my new logical God). Having said that, I have replied to his post. Hmmm, silly me.
I have spead the word of the FSM to all the people in my email list that I think have an IQ above their shoe size – including some dedicated (but reasonable) believers in that other religion about the bloke who came to a sticky end for pissing off the Romans and the Jews.
Now I just need to get myself a decent pirate outfit, which reminds me. Is the parrot on the shoulder optional or mandatory?

We do have good morales. Have you ever seen a more cheerful and confident bunch than us?
.
If, by any chance, you mean ‘morals’. Our standards may have a large degree of flimsiness about them, but the flimsiness of the standards makes our morals even better than most. For example, have you ever heard of a pastafarian wanting to banish someone to eternal torment after mercilessly killing them just because they don’t subscribe to the pastafarian belief system?
.
I don’t think so.

Woah….that is just so..so…brilliant. Really, it is. I hope no one actually thinks that the Bible has any purpose, or credibility. Global warming and pirates have everything in correlation. The reason global temperatures have decreased is due to not only our acceptance and control of greenhouse gases, but the people’s natural process of pirating, pillaging, drinking and stripping. Pirate numbers are increasing because the practice is much more accepted and is more easily accomplished. I don’t mean to sound rude, no, I really don’t. That’s sensible, all of it. Seriously. I’d rather you believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster, and have good morales, than worship a fiction book called the Bible.

I am saddened to see a post by someone, who actually has bought into the pollutionist lobby’s talk about greenhouse gases not having an effect.
.
How about thinking of it this way: If global warming is a hoax but the world still tries to cut pollution levels, we maybe lose a little bit of economic growth. If global warming is real and the world does nothing, we lose the planet.

i pitty people who believe in “green house gasses” and “earths natural heating and cooling effect” Actually it is HE who controls global warming and because Pirates are his chosen people because there are less of them HE is angry so he is heating up the Earth to make you suffer for not being Pastafarian! @Sean:
Earlier, I forgot to insult you for your ignorance of statistics. Whoops. You shouldn’t have said that “[g]lobal warming and pirates have nothing in correlation.” Correlation means a linear association. I agree that they are not linearly associated, but grammatically you should have said that they “do not have a correlation” or that they “are not correlatedâ€. Furthermore, they definitely do have an inverse association, even though it is not linear. As such, the two phenomena, from a statistical standpoint are possibly linked, although I will also agree that the numbers show that to be somewhat improbable. (I’m guessing that there is actually a 100% association and that the FSM was messing with my calculations just to confuse me, but I will concede that the numbers alone, FSM aside, are against the pirate/global warming link.) In conclusion, use proper statistical terminology in grammatically correct ways when discussing statistical analysis with people who enjoy math, science, and making fun of bad grammar.

Why is it that the non-fundies that insult our scientifically proven deity are able to read the original letter to the Kansas School Board that started this movement in modern day? It’s not even satire as much as it was an equally scientific approach of explaining our beliefs as the (practically deceased) Intelligent Design movement. Oh well.
Fine! Don’t believe! But know this: when the last of pirate brethren has departed the earth for an eternal heaven complete with beer volcano and stripper factory, those left below shall see an ominous sign of times to come. Arrrgh, the ice caps will melt and ocean shall cover the earth. In the great tempests, the land shall be torn asunder into strands thin as angel hair and the seas will begin to boil!
But when the storms calm, we shall bask in His glory as we witness Earth reborn in His noodly image. Let there be sauce!

That’s right. Pirates and global warming have no correlation. That’s why you CAN’T draw a straight line between the dots on the chart.
What I’m guessing you meant is there is no causal link between them. I didn’t see you provide any evidence in the form of a snazzy Excel graph to prove it though…so better luck next time.
Of course, lets’ not forget your amazing argument against global warming. I’m sure you’re right about Earth naturally heating and cooling….so I’m sure we’ll all enjoy the next ice age together!

My theory about why the FSM is heating up the world as pirates decrease:
.
1. Fewer pirates on Earth means fewer devoted people preaching his noodly word.
2. Having fewer people preaching his noodly word makes this a world with less adoration of pasta.
3. The less people love pasta, the worse the world becomes.
4. The FSM is benevolent and wants to improve the world.
5. Warming up the world raises the mean temperature of the ocean, which is made primarily of water.
6. Warming up the water makes boiling it easier.
7. The easier it is to boil water, the more people may be inclined to eat pasta.
8. Warming the ocean also decreases the salinity of the water by melting the ice caps.
9. Decreasing the salt content makes the water better for cooking. Some salt helps with boiling, but too much is bad. No one wants his or her pasta to taste like pure salt.
10. Making pasta easier to cook to delicious perfection might also make people more readily inclined to eat pasta.
11. The more people eat pasta, the more they will like it.
12. The more people like pasta, the sooner people start building pirate ships to preach about the FSM.
.
As you can see, the FSM is using human nature and global warming as part of a homeostatic feedback loop with the intended purpose of insuring that there are always Pastafarian pirates to fight the fundies. Yarrrr.

@Avatar and anyone else following the diamond logic – Have you considered the following:
1. Warming up the earth means a melting of the polar ice caps.
2. The melting of the ice caps results in risen sea levels.
3. Risen sea levels adversely cause there to be less land surface.
4. A decreased amount of land surface means that there is less space for chickens.
5. Chickens lay eggs and eggs are an irreplacable ingredient in noodles and pasta (as far as I know).
6. Less chickens amounts to less pasta and noodles?

“I’d rather you believe in no higher power, and have good morales, than worship dinner.”
.
First of all, what’s not to worship about dinner–it’s food which keeps us alive. And best of all foods is pasta because it tastes good, and it has complex carbohydrates which help keep us energized for games, tests, thinking, etc.
.
Secondly, if you read “Darwin’s Black Box: The Biochemical Challenge to Evolution” by Michael J. Behe, like I have and like everyone should, you’ll find it hard not to believe in a higher power. (It’s a very good book; and by the way, it doesn’t actually support intelligent design, it only presents an extremely relevant challange to Darwin’s theory of evolution by natural selection.)
.
Thirdly, I’m very sure most of the Pastafarians contribution comments to this site have good morales.
.
morale – “a moral or mental condition with respect to courage, discipline, confidence, enthusiasm, willingness to endure hardship, etc. within a group, in relation to a group, or within an individual”
.
If you meant morals, I’m sure most have relatively good morals, too.

morals – “principles, standards, or habits with respect to right or wrong in conduct”

Sorry about the late reply, but your post is not quite as old as the book you mentioned – Darwin’s Black Box: The Biochemical Challenge to Evolution by Michael J. Behe. So here goes.
.
I have not read the book but by the synopsis I understand that it contains examples of irreducibly complex systems, ie. systems that could not have evolved because the parts that make them have no functions without the full system. The book is however 11 years old and many (if not all) of the posterchildren if irreducible complexity have since been proven wrong. I could mention the eye, the blood clotting system and that bacteria, I think it is called flagella something. The ideas in the book have pushed scientist to find answers to the problems he presented and were thus quite helpful to science. The idea of irreducible complexity, however, does not seem to hold up to recent data. If there are still some irreducibly complex systems remaining, whose parts have not yet been found in nature functioning without the whole, I think they will quite soon suffer the fate of those “irreducibly complex” systems mentioned above.
.
If there are more things in the book that require answers, please let us know.

As much as I am a huuuge fan of pastafarianism I’d like to provide y’all a wee bit of knowledge or perhaps trivia. Despite an infinite amount of stupidity carried out since day one in the name of religion I’d like to point out that the church I was baptised in played an important role in the provision of education for the poor ( anyone who wasnt a landowner) and it was the church that came up with the crazy idea that every child (and not just the children of noblemen) must attend school to learn to read and write.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Church_of_scotland
According to the wikipedia page this idea was the first of its kind in the world so perhaps we should be thankful. Tis such a pity that religion is now a main reason for the spread of so much misinformation ( ID ) and the reason Im a proud pastafarian and opponent of ID being taught in science class is that I fear a few generations down the line our children will no longer question anything in the universe and will be satisfied with answers like ‘God did it, so there’. So yay science and the spread of knowledge RAmen

@Cottura 5 Minuti –
.
I don’t remember why I wrote that. I know as trying to make some sort of point, but I don’t remember what….
.
Anyway….
.
I just read it, and I was wondering if anyone here has. I should say I’m not an atheist but I’m also not a creationist. I’m somewhere in between. The idea that someone created all the universe sounds mythical; but then so does the idea that someone did not. (It just happened by accident?) Neither side has convinced me.
.
However, I would very much appreciate it if you would recommend to me a book that challenges the biochemical challenge to evolution. Or challenge it yourself? Or find someone who’s qualified? Something like that….
.
Thirsting for knowledge,
Aristotle
.
P.S. Just ignore that earlier post of mine. I have no idea why I wrote it; therefore, it no longer means anything to me.
.
P.P.S. I feel like an idiot. I may forget a thought, but once I’ve gone through the writting process, I NEVER forget it.

Speaking of hate mail, this fellow reminds me of some of the people who send hate mail to Landover Baptist Church (check it out, it’s hilarious). Most of the letters are typical fundie rants – poor spelling, poor grammar, poor reasoning, etc…, but there are some who just don’t get that it’s satire. I like to think of non-fundamentalists as better able to reason than fundamentalists, but I guess this goes to show that we can’t all be cool pirates.

I got only through the first fifty minutes–I’ll watch the rest later. I got to the part about Behe.
Miller only gave two examples….
Behe had more examples, and he probably didn’t find all the examples. There are so many different life-forms….
.
“I should say I’m not an atheist but I’m also not a creationist. I’m somewhere in between.”
Maybe I should explain myself further:
I DO believe in evolution, but I also think there is some sort of creator. He did not create the universe several thousand years ago. He did not create all the animals we see today. He did not make commandments telling us what’s bad–that’s for us decide, using the basic themes of our collective consciences.
He caused the Big Bang. He created all of the laws of physics and chemistry, all the laws that govern the universe. Then He let it go. (I guess I’m a deist.)
He made no laws that prohibit evolution; therefore, evolution is possible.
That’s my idea. I came up with it entirely on my own from everything I’ve learned and experienced; and I did it through my own thoughts and feelings. (It “evolved!”) I didn’t realize until now I was defining myself as a deist.
.
Behe’s book was the first substantial challenge to evolution I found. I’m fifteen so if I’m a little late, that is because I’ve only been interested in philosophical, religious stuff like this for about two or three years.

The biggest problem with Behe and his ilk, as far as I understand it, is the fact that they’re ignoring/twisting the evidence we have for evolution to ‘prove’ how creationism is true–he’s starting out with a conclusion and looking for ways to prove it, rather then looking for evidence and drawing a conclusion from that. I’m no scientist, but if you wander around some of the older threads here a bit you’ll find some of our more scientific-minded members gave some pretty darn good rebuttals of most, if not all, of Behe’s points.

The universe with the laws of physics is no doubt suitable for our existence. It has been said that the coincidence is remarkeble, in fact too remarkable to be a coincidence. I hope I am not pushing a belief upon you, but here are 4 ways to look at it:
1. There is/was a designer, who made it that way.
2. There is a multiverse causing a high probability that a universe such as ours exists. So do many other types of universes.
3. Our understandin of physics etc. is not comprehensive enough. If we keep discovering, we will find out that the universe and the laws of physics are not unlikely but quite if not totally likely.
4. It is just chance – even in a billion ticket lottery someone wins and that is nothing remarkable.
.
The above explanations are 75% in favour of there not existing a supreme being. Of course, you win nothing by placing your bet on one of them – you might win a place in paradise with a share of the strippers and beer by placing your faith in the FSM – the true God.

@ Aristotle – Fifteen! RAmen! To be thinking this much and asking these questions so early is remarkable. At 37, I have come around to being a deist as well (on the Belief o Matic I’m New Age/Neo-Pagan. I love being Neo-Pagan!) Link to Belief o Matic:

While I agree with those who applaud you for thinking about these things at a young age, I would like to ask you to elaborate a bit on how you came to your conclusions. They seem utterly unlikely to me, just like the religious ideas of adults. Ok, yours are less weird than the ideas many adults have, I’ll give you that. Still, weird in my opinion. Why would the Big Bang, laws of physics etc have been caused by some deity?

@DPG -
I’m often influenced by family/relatives, books (even novels), TV programs, websites like this, just about anything, and I try to be rational in my decisions between TRUE and FALSE.
.
The biggest question of all is “How was the universe created?” C5M, your correct about the LIKELIHOOD of a disigned universe, given the four options. But HOW was it created? Don’t the three alternatives imply that some random event took place to create a universe (correct me if I’m wrong)? What event? That’s what can’t be explained.
But, the first choice, the ID choice, could mean that a creator, who was intelligent, simply imagined the universe, thus creating it. That is what I believe, mainly because of a passage somewhere (I’ll quote it tommorrow, I don’t feel like it now) around p. 500 in Orson Scott Card’s “Xenocide.” Something about “philotes” that make up the universe at the most basic level and which actually have wills/souls/etc. These philotes exist Inside the universe and Outside the universe. The Inside philotes all agree upon the same set of laws (whereness/distance, mass, energy, etc.); the philotes that reside Outside do not agree on any set of laws. (Outside is complely chaotic.)
Anyways, certain philotes have stronger wills than others: strong enough that they can manipulate others to follow a common law.
I’ll explain more tomorrow, I’m tired, it’s after midnight my time.

@ Aristotle, it’s great that you have formed your own opinion, just be careful that believing the big bang etc. were cauced by a creator doesn’t stop you from looking for answers, saying a god did it has traditionally been the human way to avoid saying I don’t know, or preferrably, I don’t know yet, that’s one of the good things about science, admitting you don’t know something is all right, as long as you keep lookin for the answer. I’ve posted this link before, but it shows why the god did it argument worries me, http://www.stephenjaygould.org/ctrl/azimov_creationism.html

If the origin of something is unexplained, that doesn’t mean there has to be some creator or designer who did it. The Chinese thought for millenia that solar eclipses and comets were signs of doom about to be visited upon them by their gods. But it just turned out to be the movement of objects in space. Similarly, people may have thought that lightning, that loud, bright, potentially lethal phenomenon was the wrath of god. Didn’t turn out that way. Lighning and solar eclipses were unexplained for a long time and many therefore attributed them to god(s). But as these examples show you, lack of an explanation of where something comes from doesn’t mean some creator made it. The origin of the universe id not too clear, but don’t let that make you believe in some unverifyable explanation in terms of god(s).
Also, even you did choose to believe in a god, you’ve not explained anything. Because the follow-up question would be: where did god come from? Or where did your philotes come from? As Storm Petrel says, it’s just another way of saying ‘We don’t know’. And it is indeed fine not to know everything yet. It’s better to keep working at it, to try to increase our knowledge rather then take the negative religous view and say ‘We’ll never understand god, no point to try to understand thing, switch off your brains instead’.

@Aristotle – You are correct about the 4 options I presented earlier. Only the first says anything about how – or maybe even more to the point – WHY the universe came into being. The others do not answer a question about what was before the big bang etc. But DPG asks a very valid question in the above post: “where did god come from?”. I might be repeating some of what DPG and Storm Petrel said above, apologies for that.
.
Historically god has been a method of explaining the mysteries of the universe. I believe that a problem religions face these days is that that domain is diminishing. If someone were to claim lightning, the tide, solar eclipses, etc. as works of god, you would just say “no they are not, you dimwit” (leave out dimwit for a more polite effect). At this point we cannot yet look behind the big bang. That is about all what is left of gods’ traditional domain – the domain of natural phenomena.
.
I do not know how old you are, but if you are indeed young as other posters say, I applaud you for forming your own opinion. My beard does not grow long and gray either so for anyone to consider me a fatherly authority figure, they would have to be less than 10 years old.
.
I encourage you to form your own opinion of the beginning of the universe. A few questions for you to think of along the way: Has god existed forever or was it born somehow? Could the universe just have existed forever (ie. there has always been energy that just was reshaped in the big bang or something of that sort)? If there were no god, could you deal with what that implies in terms of the following issues: a meaning of life, ethics, afterlife…?
.
Being an atheist is not necessarily easy – you do not go to heaven when you die. You do not go to hell either, it is harder than that. It may be terribly difficult to accept that you go nowhere – you are no more – it just ends there.

I really don’t see what you guys are all making so much trouble about. I’m a Christian. I feel the whole problem is not whether or not your graph is believable, whether your deity has big balls or whether or not you can worship dinner but simply whether or not people can deal with having you do it. I believe in my God because I feel He’s there for me, that he exists if you want. You can believe in your Spaghetti Monster as much as you want also. If it makes you feel any better, I’m fine with it. Why do American Christians always have to be so rigid? I just don’t get it. Christianity is a religion, therefore it should stick to religious theories. If Christians just wouldn’t claim they are being scientific, the whole problem would be gone and the sole reason for the existence of this church would be gone with it.

@Aristotle – The list looks nice. Some criticism next…
“free rights” – do you mean human rights or that sort of thing? Or maybe that we are all free to do as we please without it being good/evil. Please be more specific.
“America should solve its own problems before it tries to help others” – no country will ever solve all its own problems, so theoretically you would never help. And please nobody mention Iraq, for we all know America in not helping.
“stupidity is a growing problem” – I think it is closer to a constant, it just has more channels these days – like the Internet.
“red is my favorite color” – Good choice, the colour of tomato sauce.
“some people are smarter than others” – I would like to know how you think this is false after you get to know a mentally handicapped person. Or even someone who just never could finish 9th grade.
.
@Rob – “in the hypothetical situation that a country had a large missile of mass destruction aimed at your country, and sent you a message there were about to launch it at you, would it be okay to send some fighter pilots to take out that missile?”
.
Do you honestly consider destroying a missile violence? Or does your plan include killing some members of the other party along the way? Maybe try to use diplomacy? I do not think the army will get there in time to stop the missile even if violence was ok in that case. In my opinion violence is neither good/evil, for there is no standard. It can be counterproductive, saddening, infuriating, etc – but not evil or good.

on “America should solve its own problems before it tries to help others” – Maybe we could try a little harder.
on “stupidity is a growing problem” – you’re right, “it is closer to a constant.”
on “some people are smarter than others†– I meant to put this in true.
on “sometimes violence is ok” (under false) – I didn’t think I needed to mention self defense.
on “Would they be willing to negotiate?†– If they are willing to treat with me, then I won’t need to do those less desirable actions. I’d be happy to negotiate with them. (On a side note, if I was in country such as Switzerland, I could remain neutral in all wars. No one would try to attack Switzerland (and no one has) because 1. it would be hard and wastefull to campaign in that kind of terrain, 2. Switzerland has little or no recourses, 3. Switzerland generally doesn’t make enemies, and 4. Switzerland has always been a neutral country. I won’t be living in the US forever.)

(It’s a very good book; and by the way, it doesn’t actually support intelligent design, it only presents an extremely relevant challange to Darwin’s theory of evolution by natural†selection.)”
Probably best to read the contradicting arguments that deal directly with Behe’s assertions in “Darwin’s Black Box: The Biochemical Challenge to Evolution†(Behe)
That surely would allow an appropriate overview from which one could weigh up both sides of the debate?

All hail his eminence the Flying Spaghetti Monster:
To Capekicks, the depletion of Pirates and its effect on global warming makes about as much sense as Mann’s hockey stick graph, which is based on several fallacies and is the basis of all the man made global warming crap. Google these and find out.
1. The data smoothing technique that was used, is flawed, other mathmeticians using this technique on random data also produce the hockey stick graph.
2. The hockey stick graph, and Mann’s assumptions ignore two very important times in history, the medieval warming and the Little Ice ages. Mann, says these were localized therefore insignificant. But other scientific studies show the same periods throughout the planet. If Mann is wrong in this assumption, what else is he wrong about?
3. Mann’s data set itself is flawed. Up until the last century Mann uses tree ring data to determine temperature, in the last century he uses surface temperature. The problem with surface temperature, is simple, many of the reporting sites were rural sites 100 yrs ago, those sites are now contained in the urban sprawl, and anyone knows urban temps are 2 or more degrees higher than rural temps.
Enhancing the skewed data of the last 20 years.
Lastly Mann himself is stifling the debate, he has been appointed as one of the chief referee’s for the scientific journals, where conflicting theories are debated. And he is blocking publication of articles in these journals that dispute his theory. If Galleleo, and Copernicus would have been similarly blocked for all ages, would the world still be flat.
May the FSM, lead you to truth and integrity.

“I meant human rights” – In my view they are just a contract. If you have not climed the profits they provide, you are not bound to them. Maybe this is an appropriate time to say LONG POST WARNING.
.
My view on ethics… There is one constant in ethics, that you are free to make your own contracts. Since I do not see any authority that could impose a set of right morals, there are none. No action as such is right/wrong. The society however is made up of contracts on innumerable levels. If you assume that you are protected by one of the contracts, you must not break it, or it no longer protects you.
.
Example 1: If you drive over the speed limit, people who hurt you as a consequence of speeding should not be punished for it.
Example 2: If you kill a murderer, you are not to be punished, for the contract that protects individual life does not apply to him. He has broken the contract and it is not against the contract to kill him.
.
If a person serves the punishment set for breaking the contract, he is re-entitled the rights granted by the contract. For example if the previoulsy mentioned murderer wants to come under the contract that protects his life, he must first serve the punishment. The punishment is set by those that are under the contract.
.
Scary? It gets better ;) The contract does not mean that something is good/evil or right/wrong. It just means that you can assume a certain degree of protection from certain actions that you yourself do not commit.
.

@Cottura 5 Minuti
You line about opting in and out of society at will is totally unworkable.
Consider a serial rapist/mugger/bank robber/burglar (delete as applicable) who argues that it is fine for others to do to him what he does to them – if they can.

Work on your self-worth! The instinct of self-preservation in a life-threatening situation is one you might have trouble overcoming.

Does this lack of care for your life extend to other areas? If you were attacked by wild dogs would you fight back? Or would you tape raw liver to your neck in an attempt to prove how civilised you were?

No, Jesus was a man. And what a Mighty man he was!
Please come join our Church, you have much to learn.
With the simple stroke of our hands we can pull the sin from your body!
Ask Ted Haggard! We spent two weeks touching him (he was in rough shape).
Now he is cured! Just one example of what our touching can do.

Erm, no offence, but they’re are no demons in My head?
I’m truly sorry if there are demons in your’s.
Just always be careful not to speak for everybody, we are all of our own.
We just happen to relate with each-other.

As a representation of FSM on Earth, I make my first three mandates:
.
1) This day, April 22, shall forevermore be known as Hierophant Aristotle I Memorial Day. It shall always be celebrated with much pasta, beer, piracy, and strippers.
.
2) August 22 shall be known as Excessive Immaturity Day. It shall be celelbrated with excessive (more than usual) immaturity.
.
3) I shall always be refered to as His High Mightiness or His Holiness.
.
Have a Noodly day,

Greetings to all my brothers and sisters in Holy Crist.
Hello again Fred the Evangelical and Pentecostal Preacher
I trust our heavenly lord has been good to you?
Also a blessed hello to Sub-Arch Pope Pixel I, Hierophant Aristotle I and other Holy Blessed Popes, Cardinals and Bishops :)
.
I myself have surely been blessed with the divine meeting with my new motorcycle friend. He too is an adept master at hands on healing. I have never in the past, experienced such a feeling of total elation and oneness with the lord which I felt after his thorough, and quite lengthy, ministrations.
A most generous fellow is he, who has suggested we invite Sister Sally over to share in our next divine session.
.
Oh Glory Be!
Would you like to come too Sister Sally?
Amen

Well, this good Lod may bless me, if he (I’m just supposing Lod is short for “Lodewijk”, thus representing a male Dutchman. Mmmm, should we call a female Dutchman a Dutchwoman or a Dutchwench? “Chwench” looks odd to me.) hasn’t anything else to do. But he could also spell-check your messages: you surely forgot the “R” in RAmen!
