FSM Chat update

The FSM Chat experiment was a success - over 200 registered users in the first 24 hours.  But, it was too slow and it was killing the server.  So I’m going to install a faster, better chat service. I’m hoping that it will be up by tomorrow.

    I had secular humanism (100%) on top, second was Unitarian Universalism, third non-theist (94%).
    Bottom with 2% are Jehovas. Whooopie! Then 7% for 7th day advenstist (no clue about them) and than 15% for Roman Catholic. And I was born RC. I’m glad that a unbiased computer tell me I’ve managed to shed my bad religious past pretty well.

    They probably don’t know enough about pastafarianism to write it into the programs, we should put together an email explaining a few of the key concepts so that they can add it in

    You know what bugged me about that quiz, though? The last options for the first4 or 6 questions was too ambivalent. There was no box that just said “I don’t believe, period”. The closest was “I don’t believe in an afterlife. Or I’m not sure. Or it doesn’t matter.” Well, excuse me, I am pretty sure I know what I believe, and it does matter to me that they are turning the atheist response into a quasi-”seeking” answers thing.
    .
    Yes, I am over-sensitive. I am secular humanist, with my next highest being neo-pagan at 89%. I checked the unapplicable box for the first grouping of questions.

    Problem with these quizzes is the inevitable “what answer should I give to get the result I want?” - Mood plays a part too. I think mine just says that I don’t know - I’m not certain of anything. I don’t mind that position but it does make shaving interesting :))

    this one might be a bit better, haven’t done it yet, but the first options are good

    @Alchemist
    HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
    .
    If mood were a huge factor, I’m sure my belief system would come up as “Pissy Bitch-ian” or something similar.

    @Batman Mar 28th, 2007 at 3:32 pm “If mood were a huge factor, I’m sure my belief system would come up as “Pissy Bitch-ian” or something similar.”
    .
    Don’t agree. I’ve seen nothing from you that proves nor illustrates this. Unless you mean “Pissy Bitch-ian towards myself because I’m to sensitive to other people’s stupidity, and frustrated by my not being able to put a halt at it!” Or is it your well-developed sense of humour that covers the whole “Pissy Bitch-ian” thing? Bugger, one more Pirate that still doesn’t understand Wenches…

    @Disciples
    Aaaaargh! The Disciples’ group is “temporarily out of order”. Phew, Wench Beth’s post were starting to go quadruplicating!

    @Jean Bart
    ha ha ha ha… NO, I don’t think I’m really really a bitch. I do get pissy once a month, though. I just wish I WAS a bitch, to be honest. In a good way… like, more able to express myself and less scared of other people’s opinions. I’m lacking confidence in that area a little bit. So I tend to try and get my point across my making fun of myself a lot. =)
    .
    I think you’re very good with the wenches, Jean Bart. =)

  12. 292 Wench Beth Mar 28th, 2007 at 5:23 pm

    Yeah, I’ve noticed that the Yahoo group is very down and that my posts were VERY duplicating. Grrrrr…..

Purchase the Gospel

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
