FSM Chat update

The FSM Chat experiment was a success - over 200 registered users in the first 24 hours.  But, it was too slow and it was killing the server.  So I’m going to install a faster, better chat service. I’m hoping that it will be up by tomorrow.

Wench Nikkiee, you win the sexy stripper points. Good job. Cliff Richards.
    .
Ships Cat, are you ok? We were so worried about you!

@ Jean Bart - “Made in Europe, for sure, partly in northern Spain (desertlike rocky environment in Aragón and Alemería),” Thanks JB for the info. I’ve wondered for years where in Italy there was desert and mountains like that…

@ Thumpie - You are forgiven by this wench! I like, you, really I do! I can’t figure out why I like that cat so much - but I’d come after you with a frying pan to defend him! :)

@ Wench Nikkiee - I used to be a big fan of Cliff Richards! But we don’t hear anything from him in the US, certainly not in the last 20 years. Or I haven’t anyway…

    @ Wench Nikkiee

Thanks for the Dawkins B-Day link! Looking through the comments and pictures that people sent in almost made me a little teary eyed. You can really see what he means to people. What a breath of fresh air. Now I almost have hope for humanity!…….Almost.

@ Nick - “Now I almost have hope for humanity!…….Almost.” Glad to see you aren’t getting giddy or carried away! Humanity has a long way to go to overcome the psychopathy that is religion. I am glad we live in a time when groups like this one and people like Dawkins can speak their minds and not getting offed by the Catholic church.

  5. 245 Wench Beth Mar 26th, 2007 at 6:52 pm

    “Hope for humanity”… what’s that?… sigh… :(
    .
Nah, this wonderful group gives me hope. It might be a tiny flicker in a world of total blackness, but it ain’t going out any time soon! :)))

  6. 246 Rowdy Wench Mar 26th, 2007 at 7:07 pm

@ Wench Beth - At this point I’ll hang onto any flicker we’ve got! And fan it… :)

(scrambles to scrape pinestraw and twigs to throw on Rowdys tiny flame)
    .
    Burn baby burn!

  8. 248 Rowdy Wench Mar 26th, 2007 at 7:30 pm

@ Nick - Thanks! It’ll take all of us but we are a tough lot so let’s get going! ;)

  9. 249 Nick the Missionary Mar 26th, 2007 at 7:44 pm

When it comes to fanning the flames (literal or not (I’m both a pyro and an instigator)) I’m your man!

  10. 250 Rowdy Wench Mar 26th, 2007 at 9:16 pm

@ Nick - A man after my own heart! Hee hee hee!

“someone such as yourself, so obviously exuding an abundance of good taste, style and class, is reduced to posting under the inauspicious handle of “Anonymous” for fear of persecution”
    .
What complimentary kind words…a sincere thank you Thumper
My fear is not so much of the wenches, more based on the implied demeanor (misdemeanor?) of that purple cat. I’ve heard it has very sharp claws and gets rather nasty at times……brrrr….
The cat seems to blame you for its personality hiccups?

I think the tiny flicker has graduated to a small blaze already. Yahoooooooo!!

    .
I had DPG to thank for reminding me Nick :)) I visit the site fairly regularly (once every couple of days at least) checking out the articles posted, but must admit the Birthday had slipped my mind.
    .
The sheer number of sincere good wishes speaks for itself…but to read through some of them…… both on the main page and on the B’day wishes list (3425 names last I checked)…..well yeah pretty hard not to get emotional…in the very best way.
    .
Everyone check it out and leave a birthday wish if you are so inclined and haven’t already done so.

Umm…that link above is for viewing the messages…this one will take you to page where you can leave a Birthday message which will then be added to the above list :))

    .
There is also the responses on the main page as well as the production put together by staff and friends. It really is an uplifting experience…so check it all out :))

    @Anonymous
“I’ve heard it has very sharp claws and gets rather nasty at times……brrrr….”…Indeed…it would seem that you are also blessed with a clarity of mind, good sense and sound judgement so as to make you a veritable demi god among those touting clarity of mind, good sense and sound judgement…it’s a bad kitty and it bites…don’t let the wenches convince you otherwise…

  18. 258 Storm Petrel Mar 27th, 2007 at 6:17 am

If you didn’t keep locking him up, I’m sure Ship’s Cat would be much less inclined to bite you

  19. 259 Red DutchPasta Kidd Mar 27th, 2007 at 6:38 am

Exactly Storm Petrel. It never bit ME.

  20. 260 Wench Beth Mar 27th, 2007 at 10:29 am

RAmen to both of you, Storm Petrel and RDPK. Cats rule.

Purchase the Gospel

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
