Hi, the problem with quoting scripture is not just that it is outdated (Leviticus - dear invisible deity that doesn’t exist!)
The other part is interpretation - I was told to read the Old Testament through the eyes of jesus (not a prospect I relished as they were no doubt a bit past their sell-by-date. That’s interpretation isn’t it?

I never claimed to be better than anyone. I have faults as do all people. What i was referring to in Ezekiel was a greater power that has allowed men of the world to choose to believe in a salvation plan that anyone can receive. It is open to all.
I do charity work for the homeless in my local community. I deliver diapers and food items to impoverished families in my community ( just answering Batman’s assertion that i don’t contribute.) I give as i can.
That godhatesfags website is not a christian site and unfortunately they claim to be. We are to love others, this includes those who are like-minded but especially those Jesus came to redeem.A true christian church would not condemn others for something the bible claims we all are. We are guilty of it, including christians. Unfortunately there are many that have preached at people under the banner of christianity to steal, lie, cheat others.
There are radicals in every community organization. From FSM to radical Christianity, Muslim extremism to the Warlords of Somalia. WE identify and commit ourselves to a movement, some become radical and others contribute in more meaningful ways. A christian who blows up an abortion clinic is not a christian. As a christian we are instructed to emulate Jesus in best way we can. Blowing up abortion clinics is not the way of Christ. God is patient and will endure for a time. Those who continually reject Him will be given over to themselves so to speak. Its like tough love in a way, you can try to help an alchoholic turn from alchohol, you may try for years but if they do not want your help you will have to let them go their own way, and you will probably let them go with tears in your eyes.
I just wanted to share like i said above, i dont mean to sound preachy, i dont think i do anyway. Like i said in a previous comment, this is an open thread so i wanted to give a christian perspective and perhaps a little insight of what the bible truly teaches. I only type so far and really dont wish to upset anyone, i dont like to hold myself to ridicule either but again just wanted to share a little. Incidentally i think anyone who enters this site looking to convert anyone is fooling themselves. I dont think i can do that. I think it would be the equivalent of taking my grandmother to dance club. It is inviting people to laugh and goad us. I find people who profess to be christians coming onto FSM and ridiculing its posters for not being like them is insulting to christian and those who do not believe alike.
Either way i think im breaking the 3 scroll rule so i would like to end this by saying not all of us think alike in the christian community and those who truly care for others dont do it with a forked tongue.

Matthew 27 and Luke 10 are unrelated.
Matthew 27 talks about the betrayal by Judas in delivering Jesus to the High Priests and hanging himself because he delivered Jesus to the people who wanted him dead and did this for money.
Luke 10 is a parable of a man who stopped to help a man he stumbled upon bleeding on the ground after being robbed and beaten. Jesus was saying be like the good samaritan who stopped to help a man who was beaten. Others walked around the man. He was the only man who stopped and helped.
The way you quoted it would have someone believe Jesus instructs people to do as Judas did and hang yourself.

Alchemist, i suppose in the end we are just people and there can be a bridge built between those who have different belief’s. I contribute where i can in this and the only people who’s integrity i hold to a light are those coming to this site under a christian flag and cursing others trying to strongarm those into their belief.

I recognize humor and have laughed at the wittier comments posted here. I reply to comments that challenge the mind and formulate a response that best addresses the comment. If it relates to scripture i give my opinion on why i believe it as i do so if you see me post here and there it’s just additional commentary from a different perspective is all.
