inspired by the fsm?

Wired’s Gadget Lab takes a look at these speakers which clearly have a close resemblance to the FSM. Coincidence?

    RAmen to that Storm Petrel.
    .
Ireland has received a good deal of EU money in the past. How would you rate the chances that people who oppose the religious parts would still vote for the constitution because they might be more Europe-appreciative than the Dutch or French?

@ everyone – I am very impressed with the level of involvement of people on this site. I am working really hard in my little corner of the world to change the people I can reach for the better (have one horse back riding student who is now an ex-Mormon! And one that would be a Pastafarian if she had her own internet access and didn’t have to use her xtian mom’s computer). But, many of you are taking on much bigger projects and that is so very cool!

@ Dread Wench – we do have a hole to dig ourselves out of! And I think it’s getting bigger all the time. It’s getting kind of scary around here…

I think it was the Nice Treaty, our Taoiseach pretty much expected everyone to vote for it because the government wanted it to be passed…no info, vote no, never mind being appreciative, when it was actually explained and the government stopped treating everyone like little kids it passed on the second vote, but the majority of people here won’t vote yes to something just because it comes from Europe.
There has also been a hell of a lot of investment in Ireland by US companies, didn’t stop people from developing a distinct dislike of the government for letting US war planes refuel in Shannon on the way to Iraq, and there was probably more security around GW when he came here to protect him from protesters than I’ve ever seen in the Republic, I doubt anyone would have tried to kill him, but there would probably have been a few rotten eggs thrown.
The point of all that, being more appreciative of something won’t stop people going against what it wants.

@ Dreadwench. Thanks for the offer by the way. It was very much appreciated.
You lot are helping. Being on a site like this you are saying enough is enough. If more people do what you and the rest of us are doing then, maybe, just maybe we can avert another dark age.

I’m a devout Pastafarian but lately, I’ve been questioning my faith in The Supreme Noodle. After today, I doubt no more …

Thank FSM that you have refound your faith in His Noodlyness.
This may be a very personal question, but when you were questioning your faith, did you develop a sinful appetite for rice-based dinners? That’s a temptation that many doubting pastafarians feel, I believe. Very evil and seductive, those pasta-less ways. Renounce that dark rice-based menu if it is still in your head!
    .
Blessed be his noodly appendages that He has made you find the warm embrace of His appendages again.

Rice? No, worse. Beans. Yes, I slid that far. Is there hope for me?

I’m back to the macaroni but having been raised Catholic, I’m wondering if there isn’t a bit of penance involved for a full recovery from the guilt. From what I recall, Pastafarianism isn’t into, say, flogging with a wet noodle or the even worse punishments inflicted by fundamentalist religions.

I think I’ll say 10 Hail Marleys and 10 AARRRR Fathers, and try to get on with my life.

Arghhh, beans! Ok, you do have some penance to do. I suggest you engage in our way of observing mass (having a beer) on a daily basis.

Strong, black coffee and beans can do the trick as well: check out the campfire scene in Mel Brooks’ “Blazing Saddles”, the theatre version I mean, like it is now on DVD. They took out the sound effects for television broadcast, which lead to a strange cowboy ballet. Say no more, say no more: you can find “both” on the same DVD!

I have been struck by a dream, which changed my life. Before i knew much of anything about FSM i had this dream and in it i saw the world and another planet similar to the world entangled in a web of what looked like pasta what i saw strongly resembaled a certain flying wad of spaghetti we have all grown to know and love. My theory I have developed is that they are two seperate interexisting worlds both under the direct control of the noodley apendages of FSM. I don’t know what this other planet was, maybe it was a planet of pirates and pirates are so far above regular humans that they didn’t die they just got bored with earth and left on one of His noodley appendages

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
