mouse neurons, the expanding universe, and the fsm

The New York Times has published a graphic which compares the strangely-similar image of mouse neurons, only micrometers wide, to an image of our expanding universe, billions of light years across. There is an obvious noodle-and-meatballs-like pattern to each, suggesting underlying intelligent design, which comes as no surprise to Pastafarians.

    Is Thumper then a “troll”?

  2. 62 Pixel Pete Jan 22nd, 2007 at 2:57 pm

    Yes, yes Thumper is a troll.

  3. 63 Johnny Corvette Jan 22nd, 2007 at 3:10 pm

    I remember a few previous poignant posts by him that showed wit and forethought. Maybe I am mistaken.

  4. 64 Alchemist Jan 22nd, 2007 at 3:14 pm

    Hi Thumper. You’re up early!

  5. 65 Peter Popoff Jan 22nd, 2007 at 3:19 pm

    Alchemist,
    Thats not Thumpie. I know Thumpie!
    Thats not it.

    You are right, Alchemist, that would have been mighty early for Thumpie. Hmmmm.

  7. 67 Alchemist Jan 22nd, 2007 at 3:28 pm

    @ whoever is playing silly bastards. Stop it please. Seriously! The joke was funny but it’s worn thin. Have the intelligence to know when to stop!

    That’s not thumper, it’s not pompous enough

    .
    I agree.
    Didn’t smell the same.

  10. 70 Thumper Jan 22nd, 2007 at 5:04 pm

    Indeed that’s not me. Saw another one on a different thread to…I’m wounded that Beastly thinks I’m pompous.

  11. 71 Marc McOar Jan 22nd, 2007 at 5:16 pm

    Pompous is as pompous does. You may quote me.

  12. 72 Peter Popoff Jan 22nd, 2007 at 5:27 pm

    Thumper is as Thupmer does.
    Thanks for the quote Marc.
    I’m still waiting for neekid pics of a display dummy.
    You?

  13. 73 Marc McOar Jan 22nd, 2007 at 5:32 pm

    Yes I am. And I am quite ticked that I am still sitting here, member in hand, without any pics. Quite ticked.
    Oh, and I do think that Thupmer is fitting. Fred Thupmer, CPA. Round, slightly balding, hairy back.

    Well I am glad to see the dialog has taken a turn for the worse.

    I use V or v, can’t remember which.
    .
    Laughed ’til I cried. Only ‘cos I’ve been pondering the same question for a couple of days.
    .
    Thank you.

    what the hell is your problem.

    .
    Huh?

  19. 79 Thumper Jan 22nd, 2007 at 7:38 pm

    @Johnny C.
    Don’t sweat it Johnny. PP and Marc are self medicating again which leads to interesting posts given that neither of them are the sharpest tools in the shed to start with. If you wind PP up enough he’ll lose the plot and threaten to “kick your ass”…is terribly amusing…if you’ve nothing better to do I throughly recommend it…but then again I’m a Troll and that’s what Trolls do.

    @Teddy Jan 22 at 5:56 pm
    You quoted me without saying that that was a quote from me! Gasp how dare you.
    @Thumper
    Peter’s never threatened to bludgeon my anus, if that’s what you’re trying to get at. And the only thing that you’ve said that I completely agree with is this: “I’m a troll”, that’s it that quote is beautiful!
    @Peter and Alchemist
    Evenin’ gents, care to fill me in on what’s goin’ on, had homework to do :(

Purchase the Gospel

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
