Get a bible…and read it throughly
Stop being stupid
God is our maker
leave that as it be, because it IS the truth
and to the comment above me, that was god hoping to help.
I feel for all of you who believe this idiotic belief.
and i hope you change sometime in your life so you can make it to heaven.

Alchemist, I’m sorry. Reading hundreds of posts has left my brain a bit addled. But, no. I understand you completely, and I would be a liar if I said I had never questioned those things. From the way you write, and the way you argue, I can tell that you’re probably older than me. That said, I’m very young. Maybe in a couple of years I’ll come around to your side of the table, but for now I go to church every Sunday because it is one of the requirements of the household I live in. Again, I am very sorry if I offended you. I’ve always had trouble with mis-quoting people.

Yeah. Sorry about that. There’s so many of you I’d love to meet IRL and I’m sure that goes for a lot of people. hehehe I’d love to meet Peter, although I think CNN would have to issue a warning first :).

The internet is great for bringing like minded individuals together. I think it’s wonderful. It still doesn’t come close to the real thing though!

BlueDreamer – no need to apologise, seriously. One thing though. Don’t go to anyones side. Make up your own mind and do what you think is right! You’ll hate yourself if you don’t. PS I’m NOT old {huff} {g}

CNN would never allow Peter on there. They like “quality”. I guess it depends on what quality. I don’t know who has more quality than the people on this site.

“Um…….3 million years? 3.5 million?”
Near enough! :)
I don’t personally have a problem with people believing in whatever they choose. I’m probably some sort of Pagan/Budhist cross or something. (it’s not something I think about)
I mostly believe in the here and now, I guess. What I do have a huge problem with though, is the religous crowds who state that their main aim is to indoctrinate every one to their beliefs and engineer social change to suit their own ends. Especially the Evangelical cults!

Thank you, Alchemist. It’s been a while since I’ve talked with a fair-minded person. Let’s just say that I live in a house that has been Catholic for more than seven generations. And I didn’t say you were old. I just said you were oldER than I am, which may not be old at all, as I am quite young……….As far as you know. ;)

Nikky, I live in a literal “cultural melting pot.” Whenever the missionaries come around, I pretend I’m not home. Besides, I think it would be totally boring if everybody believed the same thing. Who would you have exciting, heated debates with?

Hahaha – ” I just said you were oldER than I am”
Sorry for that, bit of scary thing for me, existential dread at the thought of turning 38 this year :(.
I tend to treat people in the same way they treat me. So; no problems. You live in a Catholic house? I don’t envy you, truly. Catholicism has been the cause of so much hatred in the past. I don’t know where you live but the IRA have really helped us in England to realise the poison that religion can generate.
You say you’re quite young and denigrate your intelligence. I wonder :) You can put a sentence together. You seem pretty bright to me!
.
Like I said. Look at the evidence and make your own mind up. It’s your mind, your life – the only one you’ll get. Don’t waste it in fear!

BlueDreamer, never, ever stop questioning and reasoning. That is the core of learning. And I am old. Old, old, old. So old that when I was a child all we had to play with was rat feces and spent ashes. *sigh* It was a grueling life, but luckily, I survived long enough to encourage you to continue your personal exploration. To be a youth is not bad, to waste youth is inexcusable.

38?! You old geezer! ;)
However, nobody is old until they stop learning. That’s a thing my Grandfather taught me, and he’s probably going on 87.

I can honestly say that when I log off tonight, I will go to bed with a feeling of camaraderie warm enough to cook pasta off of.

“I think it would be totally boring if everybody believed the same thing. Who would you have exciting, heated debates with?” Exactly! Boy, am I glad not everyone believes what I believe! Talk about boring if you can’t disagree…
Glad to see someone else gets it, BlueDreamer. (And, hey, don’t worry about the age, I’m barely 18 myself. If you can string a sentance together you’re fine here!)

I didn’t want to turn 5, and I know that’s totally different, but yeah…….I see the scary distinction. You really should fear the day I get my driver’s license, because then I’ll cross the line from being a teenager to an official public menace. Even though I love our Noodly Master, I promise I won’t eat soba and drive.

I don’t really have religous beliefs (aside from the FSM :). But I guess I do believe in Karma (what goes around comes around) as a way of treating others. Also, if believing in the inspiring power of nature is a religion, then I’m one of those too. The more that is explained/I learn about how nature came about/how it works, the more I am inspired.

Bloody hell you lot! I go to bed and the thread explodes!
Have rattled you off an e-mail Alchemist – but I don’t suppose you will be up for a while!
Who is offering to help me out from under the table where I will be loudly singing sea shanties then?
So now thanks to the glory of the internet I have friends I want to meet all over the f***ing place! Why doesn’t the NHS give you free airmiles?

hahaha Booty, don’t worry thanks to the FSM we can all meet at your place!
As long as your place is a pub/bar or other place that people go to enjoy drinking “in moderation” of course.
And if you should want to email me, just ask Alchemist to pass on my addy.
I need your support for this Prez gig.

Hi Peter! Have asked Alchemist for your addy or to send you mine. :)
I am not sure how I can help with the prez thing – but maybe we can fix the votes like the Florida fiasco ;) I suppose I could be a willie consultant (small c!) if that would come in handy;)
We have lots of the pubs of which you speak in Nottingham – recommended by Robin Hood no less! There was a man who knew his mead.
I am afraid you would drink me under the table in no time at all these days though, I very rarely get to go out so my stamina has totally gone – I may have to do some building up exercises!

Hey Peter, Didn’t I say that no one had more quality than you? It all depends on what quality you’re looking for. I think humor is a very good quality, as well as presidential ambitions.
@BlueDreamer – “You really should fear the day I get my driver’s license, because then I’ll cross the line from being a teenager to an official public menace.”

You and me both. I get my license in 2 months, and I’ll tell you one thing: if certain people on a certain list I have step off the curb in front of me, I’m pretending I didn’t see them.

Hit the brakes late and swerve a bit. That way it leaves rubber on the road for forensics! You can say that you saw them too late, braked and tried to avoid them. It’s good for reasonable doubt. Oh, and burn the list.
Just a thought :)
