nice mural

Dear Mr. Henderson–

I have a picture enclosed a picture of a large mural that myself and a fellow pastafarian put up on the ceiling of our school to help spread the good news. I also suggest that fellow Pastafarian Zach Heesche be agknowledged for his martyrdom to his great noodlyness. He was all but destroyed by the librarians after printing it out. I am happy to say that for a small South Dakota high school, I was very impressed with the response i got from the other students. In the last 24 hours I have officially recruited 38.  After making a “Facebook” group I was surprised to see even more interest.

Good effort. That could not have been an easy task, especially if the school admin were not involved in the process. How did they feel about your handywork? Where did you get the ladder? I can understand that you may have had some problems with the sticky-tape if this endeavour was just a little more rushed than you would have liked!

That is a very impressive undertaking, Mr. Ben. You are to be commended. If I had been a Pastafarian in high school (way back in the Dark Ages, before his Noodly Appendage had touched our society) that is something I would have done. As it stood, however, we had to content ourselves with throwing Knox Blox and pencils at the school ceilings to stick there for all ages… :)

what is with the sudden surge of pastafarian creative efforts?
    .
I’m not complaining (it’s good work, well done Ben and Zach) but it seems to co-inside with the decline of the hate mail. What’s up with that?

Well, we need something to do with our copius free time. If we can’t battle them here, we’ll take the battle to them.

Wow, a FSM mural! I wish we had those here in Belfast. This place has been torn apart for a couple of centuries. Christians killing each other for not approving of each others flavour of Christianity. And while the physical violence has mostly stopped for the moment, the venemous hatreds are still all around. One way both the Protestants and Catholics express their hatred of each other is through murals. The Catholic/Republican ones are actually quite artistic sometimes. The Protestant/loyalist ones are mostly about hooded men with Kalashnikovs, quite disgusting.
Wish we had a few FSM murals instead! Unfortunately, many of the murals are from the paramilitary here, and painting one over carries the risk of suffering real physical violence. Seriously worse than what a librairian would do to you. And I’m not sure I want to become a martyr for the cause just yet. Maybe my FSM convictions need to mature a bit first. If I ever do take the oppurtunity to put one up somewhere, I’ll let you know.

Mr. Henderson, I just want to congratulate you for your work. Pastafarianism is a good way of responding to the absurd imposition of other people’s ideas in the minds of the new era. Good luck with everything, I hope the FSM word keeps being spread, here in Mexico as well.

    That is amazing!

I tried to spread the truth to my school as well, but they had a problem with the brash showing of anatomy…. so i’m still in the process of getting an agreement

meanwhile its just flyer spreading for me.

Acutally, it is in the band room of my high school, they acutally climbed shelves to tape this mural on the ceiling. It is absolutely B-E-A-utiful. The appendage has touched me in all the right places.

You guys you take it easy on climbing shelves to get the ceiling won’t you. If one you accidently fall and break bones or something worse, the CoFSM will never hear the end of it. We have a reputation to uphold. Remember, no one has ever been seriously injured or died in the name of FSM. More importantly we don’t want to lose any truely dedicated Pastafarians, such as yourselves.
    Just take care eh!

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
