Take a look

Take a look at some of the hate mail on this site…some people actually have said it ruined their lives because their friends have believed in this stuff, and yes in fact I do know a girl who told me about this, and yes, she does belive in this stuff, with all of her heart. I don’t think that you people take into consideration that not everyone is the brightest crayon in the box and people will believe in anything they’re told..it’s a fact of life. I mean…I’m all for fun and games and joking around…but there really is a point of taking it to far. I mean…come on…look at what you’re doing in your spare time…it kind of depresses me.

    Dear Peter,

If we were to stop talking simply because someone, somewhere might misunderstand, all mankind would be entirely silent. There are thousands of beliefs in the world. Are you railing against everyone who believes differently than you do? Do something constructive and start your own Web site that proclaims your humorless beliefs.

“I mean…come on…look at what you’re doing in your spare time…it kind of depresses me.”

Don’t bother being depressed about what other people are doing, live your own life to the best of your ability. If you don’t want the stripper factory and beer volcano, that’s your business. I won’t be depressed on your account – don’t waste your time being depressed on mine.

Okay OEJ, I came up with Mel Brooks on the way into work. I had the old lady type it in for me- remotely, if you will. Mel Brooks is better than most people will ever know. Just plain Yogurt! How about this: “Did you will the towell to fall?” That is one of my all time favorite lines, from one of my favorite flicks. From the same mervie comes “what if he’s an escaped vivisectionist?!” Get on it before the whores, or hordes beat you to it.

Mel Brooks…. History of the world…..
    .

Moses (Brooks) is shown coming down from Mount Sinai after receiving the law from God (the voice of an uncredited Carl Reiner). When announcing the giving of the reception of the law to the people, Moses proclaims “I have given unto you Fifteen…” (his proclamation is interrupted by his dropping and shattering of one of three tablets) “Oy!… Ten! Ten Commandments! For all to obey!”

I’m sure there are some people on the edge of sanity or mental retardation that believe this is not a satire. I feel sorry for them, but I’m not worried about any negitive repercussions.
    .
I personally feel that if these people’s lives are truely ruined because of a different religion, then there is something wrong with the person not the religion. These people must shallow and week if they are unable to talk about religion with a friend, and the same thing would happen if a mormon missionary went to their bus stop every morning.

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
