    How would does you shooting my wife have anything to do with my moral standards? In fact where is my wife, and how come I have not met her? If you tell me I could be getting laid regularly and I am not, then I will be very sad. Oh wait, you said “wife”. I forgot: girlfriend=sex, wife=no sex. Can’t argue with math, and as you can see by the “=” symbols in my previous sentence, I was using math.

    By the way, your logic is about as sound as your religious beliefs, assuming that you follow any religion other than the FSM gospel.

    I think we’re all missing the point here. We’ve been hypothesizing so much here, how do we know the wife is still alive? Was a ransom note even delivered?
    .
    I think I’ll wait until the smoke clears and see what the kidnappers’ demands are. He may be a pirate, and I’m down with that if that’s the case. Pirates are methodical killers. They don’t flip out like ninjas and start slicing away. If a pirate kills you, he has good reason.
    .
    Remember, if a pirate is involved, look the other way. We need more of them to decrease the temperature of the planet and get those tree-huggers off our asses.

    Yes my quote is free to all. Here it is again for all you lazies who haven’t read the previous posts:

    @Cat
    I have lived with felines for years and now have a novices understanding of catish. And I’m still amazed that you felinestines are able to do theoretical phycis without an opposable thumb.
    Now to be relevant to the thread for the first time: as a previous poster said, flexible morals does not imply no morals. I believe non-believers can be more moral then believers. We do whats right, not because of the promise of some celestial paradise or from fear of eternal damnation, but because we care about our fellow humans (and cats and various other creatures). This is true morality. Morality out of fear or in hopes of rewards is childish. So we pastafarians may condone a little pre-marital sex (with protection) and occasional trips to alternate states of reality, but at least we don’t preach “Thou shall not kill” while supporting the death penalty and war.

    “Humanity m[a]y actually redeem itself when they stop waiting for a higher power to do it for them”
    -Wise words, but unless people do things nothing will change. I was thinking, and I contacted Bobby on this, but he ain’t got back to me yet, that FSMism could hold its first general meeting. I think your quote would provide an intersting debate. In my opinion FSM should consider taking a proactive role in our future. FSM could actually make a difference where it counts, but it would mean actions, not words, however wise. We could have a forum at the general meeting to discuss FSM’s future role in the world on such issues as obviously the education of children, but also on larger topics, such as global warming, etc and draw up a plan of action.

    I just want to say that i think you are crazy. Who would waste their time and money trying to get this theory into schools around the country. Although I do believe that everyone should make up their own mind about what really happened, your version is obviously not true, as you well know. All I’m saying is that you should really try to be more productive doing something worthwhile versus something that will never become a part to school curriculum.

    @_____-

    Do you not understand the concept of sarcasm and/or satire, my son? If you are refferring to the Open Letter, which I suspect you are, then how on earth could you have missed the glaring satire there? The point of said letter, you poor pathetic sheep, is not so much to instill Pastafarianism into schools as it is to point out the glaring idiocy of attempting to get ID into a school curriculum. The reasoning behind NOT putting ID into schools is that, simply, it is NOT SCIENCE. Teaching children to be unscientific in science class is like teaching them to burn books in english or how to cook crystal meth in home ec. It is ridiculous, and therefore your point, I’m afraid, is moot. From a philisofical standpoint, Pastafarianism would make far more sense in a school environment than ID ever would, unless, FSM forbid, the separation of church and state laws are ever repealed.

    13,
    .
    Your dream is quite straight forward. The Meatball represents the Earth. As you hungrily consumed the meatball, you encountered an unpallitable portion, the “tooth”. Clearly the tooth is symbolic of the consequences of our unbridled rape of the planet. The fact that it was a human tooth is also significant. The tooth demonstrates that we are the root cause of our own misfortunes.
    .
    The metamorphosis of the meatball into a mouth which then consumes you clearly shows that if we continue to thoughtlessly squander the resources of our mother earth (figuratively speaking), she will turn on us and destroy us.
    .
    Finally, your dream ends with hope. The remaining parmesan in the bowl are the seeds of humanity which may rebuild, hopefully learning from our mistakes.
    .
    Surely the Noodly One has blessed you with a powerful vision which we should all take to heart.
    .

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
