    Please spare me. The US was founded on commerce. The first explorers/colonists in the US were financial ventures. Some came later for religious freedom (Freedom of their own religion, mind you. They had no problem repressing the religions of others.), however, most immigrants came to the US for economic reasons.

    Take five minutes and learn some facts before you try and spread that shit here.

    @Penne
    Actually, you have that backwards. Some of the original settlers like the Pilgrims were Protestant fundamentalists that would make most modern fundies cream their pants in envy.

    Here is a good site that tells of some of the MANY religions that came to the new world,but the first religions, of course, belonged to the Native Americans who were here long before any of them. http://www.loc.gov/exhibits/religion/rel02.html

    We at the first fundamentalist Pastafarian Church of the North Woods will be taking to the street in full Pirate gear as Cap’t Awsome has done. He is one mighty an stronh and will be blessed many fold by His noodly appendages.

    I have all my pamphlets ready for a roll out on campus tomorrow. I had decided to wait til the end of semester (term) exams, as I personally know how distracting the FSM site/cause can be. Also nearly everyone turns up to celebrate.
    It has been a frustrating wait, but I felt it was the right thing to do so as to attract the most attention and conversions. I intend to save the following, (after this one) roll out on campus for orientation week next year.

    @Anna
    To post (fix..um attach) the pamphlets to boards ect. It did not matter anyway, they went so fast I didn’t have a chance to actually pin them up anywhere.

    @Bill
    Hello Bill. Did you lose something?

  15. 95 That Wenchy Character Dec 2nd, 2006 at 5:25 am

    @Bill
    The ability to think for yourself, maybe?

    Yall need straight jackets and padded walls. Maybe you should also join the military. Go over and ask the terrorists if they beleve (spelled wrong, I know) in the so called FSM.

  18. 98 Rodger the cabin boy Dec 2nd, 2006 at 8:40 am

    Bill
    I have never heard of terrorists who believe in the FSM (they wouldn’t be aloud to terrorise anyone) but there are plenty of terrorist groups who believe in god. For example your beloved president who decided that Iraq needed to be bombed because god told him to do it. The civillians who were bombed by the US were no doubt terrified by this unjustified attack and so it was TERRORISM thats right the US+UK army are terrorists.

  19. 99 Bill Dec 2nd, 2006 at 1:39 pm

    You are one. So is the “fsm”

  20. 100 Rodger the cabin boy Dec 2nd, 2006 at 1:45 pm

    Bill how the fuck does the FSM terrify anyone unless you happened to be scared of a sense of humour, something that truly is terrifying is your lack of intelligence.

Purchase the Gospel

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
