FSM Money Stamp

dollarwide1.jpg

Nick Jones came up with this FSM money stamp. It covers up “In God We Trust” and replaces it with “In Pasta We Trust”. I like it.

Closeup: dollarwide2.jpg

BoingBoing had a post a while ago showing a tiny stamp to strike out the word “God” from paper money:

godlessmoney.jpg

Which prompted Kim Moser to suggest the following FSM stamp:

Here’s what I want to know: how many people would be interested in a money stamp? We could have them made if there’s enough interest.

    Actually Batman,
I think that was more like a “worse than Jeff Foxworthy”, then a “worse than Michael Richards”. Michael Richard lashed out at someone of a different race. Jeff Foxworthy lashes out at those of a different…… well, let’s just leave it at different.

“Whoever mutilates, cuts, defaces, disfigures, or perforates, or
unites or cements together, or does any other thing to any bank bill,
draft, note, or other evidence of debt issued by any national banking
association, or Federal Reserve bank, or the Federal Reserve System,
with intent to render such bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence
of debt unfit to be reissued, shall be fined under this title or
imprisoned not more than six months, or both.”
    .
that’s the law. I don’t see anything about the death penalty. Please at least graduate middle school before blatantly insulting and lying to us.
By the way, someone said something like this earlier (I forget what thread and person):
    .
“It has been proven that many religious fundamentalists spend more time thinking about homosexuality then the homosexuals themselves.”
    .
Now, as a straght guy myself, I couldn’t back that up, but your kind certainly spends much more time yelling about it.
Please end your hickish insistance on dropping the “f-bomb” and calling everyone faggots. If I will burn in hell for expressing my ideas on religious domination, so be it. It would be better to spend an eternity burning then to watch from above as fanatics such as yourself destroy everything my code of ethics stands for, turning the human race into nothing but curse-spewing religious marionetts. I do not imply that all religious people are that way; indeed, most aren’t. however, there is the problem that “Scum rises to the top”, and what scum that is religious could resist a 1984- esque Big Brother takeover? We simply wish for a world free of religious fanaticism/fundamentalism, one where science remains science and peace doesn’t involve killing everyone who doesn’t share your views.
Gnocci Man, hoping for a brighter future.

What’s this line of argument about? You just trying to make a guy feel good about himself or what? Listen: if OEJ and I turned out to be drunk, inbred, necrophilic neo-Nazis with twelve wives, upsetting though that revelation would be, it wouldn’t have the least bit of impact on whether the arguments we’re making add up or not. Yes, the bible condones slavery—

“When a man strikes his slave, male or female, with a rod and the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. But if the slave survives a day or two, he is not to be punished; for a slave is his money.”—Exodus 21: 20-21

    Kupo,
    .
I don’t specifically hate Christianity. It is the obvious target because it is the majority religion in the US. What I dislike is what religions teach and do. 1) Faith. That there is something sacred about belief without proof or even belief contrary to evidence. 2) Religion cannot be questioned. 3) Indoctrination of children. 4) Religious influence of US public policy that impedes scientific progress (ie. stem cell research). 5) Leading a good life has no value. You must believe in XYZ god or you will suffer eternal punishment.
    .
Having said that. I know many good Christians. I know many good non-Christians. However, if a Christian is going to try and engage me in a discussion of rationality concerning religion, I am not going to lie down. Religion and rationality do not mix.

about the whole Moses-slavery thing, wouldn’t it have been more intelligent to render the Egytians into an extended period of artificial sleep? There would have been no deaths from his oh-so-loving plauges, and the slaves would have easily been able to stck up on enough food and goods to supply them through their desert excursion. And don’t bother saying that he couldn’t, seeing as you have already claimed that he is omnipotent.

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
