FSM Money Stamp

dollarwide1.jpg

Nick Jones came up with this FSM money stamp. It covers up “In God We Trust” and replaces it with “In Pasta We Trust”. I like it.

BoingBoing had a post a while ago showing a tiny stamp to strike out the word “God” from paper money:

Which prompted Kim Moser to suggest the following FSM stamp:

Here’s what I want to know: how many people would be interested in a money stamp? We could have them made if there’s enough interest.

MJK, we need to find some more intelligent people to argue with. looks like kupo and CC have vacated the premisis, and arguing with Billy is like arguing with canine fecal matter. See you tomorrow!

The problem is that they’ve run everybody off with their crap, but I’m glad that at least some of my friends found it fun to debate with them. I was just looking around for a thread that I’d enjoy more, but not much is going on. Oh well, back to work.

not sure I will know how to get back to this page - you can write to me at pokerspider@aol.com

Is someone actually selling the stamp? I thought it was a one-off kind of thing.

“Jesus died on the cross, he made it possible to just aski him to come into your heart. So in order to get into heaven you just have to ask Jesus into your heart.” ….Am I the only one who has an issue with this? Oh, is that ‘all’ you have to do!? Sounds easy enough. Except that then I’d be lying to myself because I don’t think Jesus is alive and able to understand whether I ‘take him into my heart’ or not. Also, any religion that lets Jesus-loving child molesters into heaven over good, decent, honest people who don’t happen to be Jesus-lovers is to me a disgusting perversion. No offence, of course. (For the record, I know and respect plenty of Christians who don’t see it that way at all….I’ve noticed that only the fundies seem to, actually.)

“That the Red Sea actually parted, that the Jews crossed it (and didn’t sink into the sea bed)” Please. I’ll be honest, the biggest issue I have with that story (besides, y’know, the physical impossibility of it all) is that people actually think one guy could have convinced all those other people to follow him. Jews love to argue and debate, hence why the most popular image happens to be old bearded guys studying the Torah for the millionth time, to try and figure it out. There’s no way they’d ever be able to agree to follow Moses like that…or if they did, it would take a few dozen years. Heh. ( since people seem to get offended very easily on this thread, that was a JOKE. )

“RELAX….” ….That’s pretty funny coming from someone who’s spent so many posts trying to prove to us that a piece of satire is untrue.

“if OEJ and I turned out to be drunk, inbred, necrophilic neo-Nazis with twelve wives,” Now *that* would be an interesting turn of events.

“I simply said that it in no way ever says that slavery is “okay” in the eyes of God.” Ah, but it also never says it’s NOT ok, now does it? So slavery at the very least was *allowable* by god, correct?

Italia—Whoever you are, I love you for that ‘chill out’ post of yours.

    Yay for long posts.

I made the original “In Pasta We Trust” one. Right now its a one of a kind. I’d be stamping some bills with it now, if I had some damn money!

Bobby hasn’t said what his plans for the stamp are yet, but I could tell you how to make your own custom one.

    .
You guys have blown this thread up with 400 posts in two days. I can’t even keep up.
    .
I wish the posts were numbered.

Just goes to show what happens when a couple of creationists show up.

Creationists showed up in the form of school kids. Yippee. And obnoxious kids to boot.

Hey Nick… I would be quite interested in your stamp-making methodology.

  12. 572 Nick the Infidel Dec 8th, 2006 at 5:45 pm

    @Farseer
    .
I just went to Michaels (local crafts store). I found a stamp thing where you could turn various dials to spell out words (like the date stamps librarians use, but with letters). I just took an exacto knife and cut out the letters I needed. They also sell these clear plasic blocks for making your own stamps (so that you can see through the stamp and line it up with what you are stamping). I just glued the letters onto the stamping block. Don’t forget that they must be spelled out backwards! I carved the FSM image out of a rubber eraser. The vertical bars at the top, are just a strip of the letters turned upside down.
    .
I had tons of letters left over, so I made another stamp that also covers up “In God We Trust”, but says “Federal endorsement of a deity or religion violates the U.S. Constitution”.
    .
    Hope this helps!

  13. 573 Farseer Dec 8th, 2006 at 6:25 pm

That sounds easy enough. Thanks Nick!
May His Noodly Grace grant you a happy weekend.

“I happen to believe that homosexuality is directly related to a chemical imbalance in the brain.”
Well, uh, that is just idiotic. The rest of your post was good. Scientists don’t know why straight people are straight much less why gay people are gay. But good try. We’ll make a smug, left-wing assclown out of you yet.

First of all high school students can be some of the most intelligent individuals. Many of us know our stuff and take this thread seriously. Billy is the only one who takes it as a joke. James or Kup and I love debating with everyone. Don’t sink so low as to judge us as imcompetent idiots because of our age.

  16. 576 Caped Crusader Dec 8th, 2006 at 7:05 pm

I know that scientist aren’t sure One oared Marc. Didn’t you even read the quote. It says I HAPPEN TO BELIEVE. As in it is my opinion.

  17. 577 Caped Crusader Dec 8th, 2006 at 7:07 pm

Oh and I am not religious and happen to be one of the most liberal people in the whole sate of Virginia

  18. 578 One Oared Marc Dec 8th, 2006 at 7:15 pm

You are reasonably smart for a teenager but you are fucking stupid for an adult. So, stop being so obnoxious. You happen to believe, based on what? Your own stupid opinion? Think. It doesn’t hurt. And learn.

  19. 579 One Oared Marc Dec 8th, 2006 at 7:42 pm

Oh, and Virginia is not a “sate” or a “state”. It is a Commonwealth. At least learn about where you live.

    Howdy folks.
    .
Damn, I missed a post fest and a half. Still, a few points…
    .
@Caped Crusader (pretty damn sure it was you, but cannot be assed rechecking several hundred posts) what is your fascination with Australia? First you call us idiots, (in jest I know, but still…) before going on to display a real hankering for Nikkiee. Curious…
    .
@Everyone; Is it just me, or did Billy slowly grow more coherent the longer he posted?
    .
@Whoever was talking about the seas parting; Don’t know if this helps, but I saw a BBC doco a while back that expressed the idea that the Israelites might have crossed an area thick with reeds. These reeds allowed the passage of the foot-slogging Israelites, but the horses and chariots of the pharoah’s army foundered due to lack of solid support.
    .
@Nikkiee. If you ever get around to reading this, I think caped crusader has a thing for Aussie girls, so watch your step.

    See you all around,

Purchase the Gospel

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
