FSM Money Stamp

dollarwide1.jpg

Nick Jones came up with this FSM money stamp. It covers up “In God We Trust” and replaces it with “In Pasta We Trust”. I like it.

BoingBoing had a post a while ago showing a tiny stamp to strike out the word “God” from paper money:

Which prompted Kim Moser to suggest the following FSM stamp:

Here’s what I want to know: how many people would be interested in a money stamp? We could have them made if there’s enough interest.

    @Billy (again)
    and please stop with the whole “I bang, you bang, he/she/it bangs, we bang, they bang, you all bang… etc.
    It is beginning to make you look a bit sexist.

    @J
    I wasn’t trying to add any credence to my arguments. I was merely curious.

    @Fr. Corpus Callosum
    I really don’t think there’s any reason for name calling, and I prefer not to burn crosses…it’s kind of against what I stand for, and isn’t this comment thing ment for us to post our opinions on?

    Yes, the bible condones slavery—

    “When a man strikes his slave, male or female, with a rod and the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. But if the slave survives a day or two, he is not to be punished; for a slave is his money.”—Exodus 21: 20-21

    Kupo - it should be ‘their slaves’ I hope. Once again, nothing of relevance to add to the thread but just wanted to join in.

    Kupo,
    .
    I don’t specifically hate Christianity. It is the obvious target because it is the majority religion in the US. What I dislike is what religions teach and do. 1) Faith. That there is something sacred about belief without proof or even belief contrary to evidence. 2) Religion cannot be questioned. 3) Indoctrination of children. 4) Religious influence of US public policy that impedes scientific progress (ie. stem cell research). 5) Leading a good life has no value. You must believe in XYZ god or you will suffer eternal punishment.
    .
    Having said that. I know many good Christians. I know many good non-Christians. However, if a Christian is going to try and engage me in a discussion of rationality concerning religion, I am not going to lie down. Religion and rationality do not mix.
    .

    about the whole Moses-slavery thing, wouldn’t it have been more intelligent to render the Egytians into an extended period of artificial sleep? There would have been no deaths from his oh-so-loving plauges, and the slaves would have easily been able to stck up on enough food and goods to supply them through their desert excursion. And don’t bother saying that he couldn’t, seeing as you have already claimed that he is omnipotent.
    Praise the FSM!

    Kupo,
    Are you suggesting that someone with a different opinion than you, coming into a discussion that he was never a part of to begin with, should leave because he is annoying you? Did you find that mirror I asked you about a few posts back?
    RAmen.

    Ah, Kupo…I was thinking something so similar to that. >.

  18. 498 Trey Dec 8th, 2006 at 12:50 pm

    hmm….gotten pretty talkative eh?

  19. 499 Fr. Corpus Callosum Dec 8th, 2006 at 12:53 pm

    I think Billy should stay. He’s a poster child for christian family values.

  20. 500 Italia Dec 8th, 2006 at 12:53 pm

    Ah Kupo, I was just thinking something like that!

    So, I don’t think I’m going to join in on this conversation. Unless of course there really is a question about Christianity, then I’ll be happy to answer. For the time being, I think I’ll just sit on the sidelines until I’m needed.

    Everyone have fun blowing up and everyone else!

    (yay for mass criticism?? This is getting dumb.)

Purchase the Gospel

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
