FSM Money Stamp

Nick Jones came up with this FSM money stamp. It covers up “In God We Trust” and replaces it with “In Pasta We Trust”. I like it.

BoingBoing had a post a while ago showing a tiny stamp to strike out the word “God” from paper money:

Which prompted Kim Moser to suggest the following FSM stamp:

Here’s what I want to know: how many people would be interested in a money stamp? We could have them made if there’s enough interest.

    Pretty clever idea! To follow suite in the ridiculous waste of time I began re-Godding previously degodded bills by stamping or writing “In God We Trust” on them. This immature stunt in defacing the dollar proves that anti-christs are just as intolerant and prejudice as they claim Christians to be.

    Hiya Nathan. How’s tricks? Now why would you trust God?
    Did you also remove the pyramid and all seeing eye from the bills. I believe Masonic symbolism is a no no for a God Trusting Christian. Or are they OK?

    It’s not illegal to write on US Currency. Currency with writing on it is still legal tender so it doesn’t fall under the definition of “defacement” unless you altered the bill to the point where it wasn’t recognizable.

    Actually, defacing money in the US is illegal, but placing stamps on money is not. That’s right, there is no problem. In the US it does not violate any laws since you are not intentionally “render[ing] such item(s) unfit to be reissued.”

    for proof. So stop wishing each other evil for “defacing” US money. (I am not sure of the legality of it in other countries.)

    @Ciaran
    I’m not sure, but I think advertising is illegal too, but we’re a religion and christianity is already advertising there, so I think we would be safe.

    I was looking at making a custom FSM stamp (CafePress?) just like this one. Then it occurred to me to check to see one existed.

    Damn, I guess my idea isn’t original.

    Hi, I’m a combat veteran and an atheist (Vietnam 1969-70) and resent having to “utter” that I trust some invisible alien of religious mythology (ie: “God”) … therefore since 2001, I have been stamping all my money with ”

Purchase the Gospel

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did.
