bobby, your site is amusing

Bobby, your site is amusing, and I can agree that ID does not belong in science classes. However, I also believe that Evolution does not belong in science classes for much the same reason. Let’s stick to chemistry, physics and biology based on the scientific theory.

    Very artistic Davey, but I see illegal numbers. I forgot we are keeping 0 as well to avoid the null system.

    Nah see, I think if we butcher the l33t system (which I am not overly familiar with) we could end up with something like:
    a = @, A = 4, E = 3, G = 6, I = 1, O = 0, S = 5 etc
    so to tie in the illegal numbers again:
    A = +, E = +/, G = +++, I = /, S = ++/

    Now, / und+/e++/t+nd th+t th/++/ c0uld g+/t + l/ttl+- c0nfu++//ng but /t w/ll b+/ w0rth /t wh+/n w+/ tr+n++/l+t+/ th+/ g0++/p+/l /nt0 th+/ l+n+++u+++++/ th+t th+/ n00dly 0n+/ /nt+/nd+/d….

    I am so glad i found this site, I like to see someone have a go at over zelous Christains.

    To teach religion in school is altogether wrong, it taints the fountan of knowledge for the youth. It gives the religon with the upper hand, even more power. It can cause un needed tension between different peoples. I hope this law NEVER makes it to australia, but luckily we have a diverse and pretty equal share of religious power in our country and no one religion can claim there beliefs are fact, and have it forced on people through an institution. It goes against the principals of freedom to allow one’s beliefs to be the only chosen for teaching. It goes against the idea of unity to make it seem that others are wrong, which religion has done for far too long. It should not offend people that the institution is being mocked, oh no. It SHOULD offend people that such a practice still exists! and that only one alternative is being offered. I would like to say in response to those who are oposed to this site, YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO BE OFFENDED! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO COMPLAIN! YOU LOVE AND SUPPORT FREEDOM, AND YET YOU OPRESS IT IN YOUR RICHEOUS STUPID WAY! I SHOULD BE THE ONE OFFENDED, NOT YOU. SO SHUTTUP AND SIDDOWN!!

    You know, I read down a couple of responses to what Davey had posted. I actually had a thermo prof use the law of entropy to try and prove that there was a higher being of some sort. As I recall it was only a few lectures after he disproved global warming. I tend to agree with him on both counts. Global warming is a farce, and “higher beings” than my thermo prof almost certainly exist. Higher beings like snowboarders, Jamaican’s, all other chronic tokers, and of course …… mother inlaws.

    There appears to be a driving force built into a spontaneous process that propels it in a given direction and it has been determined that this force is the mighty FSM.

    Oh by the Heavens!
    Yeah this site and its idea are a big fun joke, and like all GOOD jokes it is made to make poeple THINK about things. But not so many writing here seem to do that. Nonetheless, let me point out one thing: I have been reading the words about “Evolution Theory” everywhere, in posts AND anwers.
    Guys: evolution is NOT a theory. It was in the back-centuries when all man could do was look at birds fly by. We are in 2006 for His Noodly Heaven’s sake! ^___^
    Freudism is theory. Jungism is. Statistics. “Which is the best way to obtain a date with someone you like” is a theory.
    Rain, cheese, algebra, the Punic Wars, the hybrid electric car engine, evolution, headache are NOT theories.

    Do not write “evolution theory”. you are feeding their side!
    Yaarrrrr!

  29. 129 - Enlightened. - Oct 31st, 2006

    @Logan:
    `
    “Theory” means something different in scientific terms than it does in grammatical ones. A scientific theory is an explanation or reason for a law. We have laws of genetics; we have the theory of evolution. We know there are genes, we know they mutate, we know that there is a process by which they do so. These are incontrivertible facts; hence, they are considered law.
    `
    We use the theory of evolution to explain the process by which this law is executed. Since we cannot prove that our interpretation of evolution is succinct and complete unto itself, we must consider it a theory. Theories are constantly tested by the scientific community to ensure they are still valid. Theories are repeatable, generable, and consistent across any given set of parameters for all empirical data.
    `
    So it’s okay to be a theory. =)

    Perhaps the reason I get along so well with irrational and imaginary numbers
    is that I spend a lot of time in another dimension where the FSM is made from strings of meat and big puffy pasta balls.

    You should come visit sometime. You seem to be more
    comfortable with numbers than I am, so you could maybe help
    me out with some of the more difficult bits.

    Just use plain old “evolution.” I hate when people think they can have their cake and eat it too: accept all of science, except for evolutionary biology. Evolution is as much a part of science as astronomy or geology; you just can’t single it out. “I believe 2+2 is 4 and 4+4=8 but I just won’t believe 40+2 = 42!!!!”

    you know…all fact tought in science class is just a theory. It takes Decades for a theory to be developed. It needs to be tested and compared. Gravity is only a theory bu nobod has any problem with that being tought because it does not threaten a God’s power. Because Evolution poses a threat to creationist beliefe they draw attention to the fact that it is a theory. EVERYTHING IN SCIENCE CLASS IS A THEORY. This is because science is always sarching for the truth. Until they find it for definate they stck with the apparant truth. Like how it is apparant that sodium reacts with water for a number of reasons.

    Hi Dave

    Evolution on the short time frame has been proven repeatedly in labs, and is not a theory.

    Evolution on the longer time frame has more evidence supporting it that any other human idea in history. So, while it cannot be proven without a time machine, it in nonetheless worthy of being taught in school.

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did.
