Just had to tell you, I went to read “The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster” for a book report in school. Of course, it was 9 pages too short and my teacher denied me the chance to report my book to the class. Now, next book you write, and you MUST write a next book. You should totally make it over 175 pages just so every misled student out there will be able to further educate people about FSMism. Wait! Maybe like 250 pages instead, because by the time your finished hopefully i’ll be considered a higher educated misled student by then and wanted by ‘the people who make decisions’ to read something around that specified number, which wouldn’t even exist had ‘the people who make decisions’ decided it did.

Just to make it count, Chinese “translation” can’t be understood at all. Starting from the headline: Church-every week-fly-weird-beast. I think it should be Feixing lamian mogui jiaotang (飞行拉é¢é”é¬¼æ•™å ‚) but I’m no native speaker… Anyway, hope you fix it soon.

拉麵 is ramen (hand stretched noodles) and spaghettiis 義大利麵 or 通心麵. é”鬼 is devil, and not monster. (monster=怪ç¸). æ•™å ‚ usually refers to the physical building of the church, so instead, 教會 would be more proper.
I think it should be 飛天義大利麵怪ç¸, for (FSM)
or 飛天通心麵怪ç¸, either one would work.

Hahahaha, I used http://www.freetranslation.com to translate a school newsletter last year, and the phrase “school boosters club” translated to “los motores auxiliares de propulsión de la escuela golpean,” which as near as I can tell means “the school’s auxiliary propulsion devices clubbed” (’clubbed’ as a verb).
So here’s how we look at the faulty translations: 1) they’re probably really funny, 2) if FSM wants His Word translated accurately, He’ll take steps to ensure it, and 3) kinda makes you wonder about the accuracy of the Judeo-Christian Bible translations, eh?

I am from Germany and the German that is created here (by PC I am sure, not by Humans), reminds strongly of the wisdom of fortune cookies. Highly cryptic, almost without any sense. If you really try and read word by word with due care and thought it is possible to catch the general meaning, but you could also be totally misled.
Anyway, this is the most genious idea the FSM has ever feed its prophet with: Bring in a little random generator in this holy story. Make enough room for differing interpretations of HIS word.
Quite probably, (in some decades – sorry we’re in www-times now) in some days we will have a schism with the fundamentalists believing only the true English word. The more relaxed believers will agree to almost anything that sounds weird and all the same scientifically proved.

Well, I did have a dilemma for é”鬼 vs. 怪兽 (since the dictionary and some guys here in Beijing say both are OK :)). The difference between æ‹‰é¢ and Spaghetti was quite clear from the start, but I wanted to add some local flavour. And isn’t RAmen a sacred word of Pastafarianism? ;)

About the french version… sorry, but it’s awfull…

French is a tough language even for the french speaking people.
I for one read the whole site in english and I understand and approve all that’s been said/ done, but when I read it in french, it doesn’t make any sense… so for the sake of this great site and religion (hehe), you should reconsider posting something this bad.
This is by no mean a critic of the religion, it’s just that it plain doesn’t make sense in the french version.
I strongly suggest finding a real human that speak, read and write french to translate this.

Hey the translation however is a bit funny (I can only comment on the german translation)… I wouldn´t translate flying Spaghetti Monster with “Fliegen-Isolationsschlauch-Monsters” That is a really weird translation. I´d say “das Fliegende Spaghetti Monster” fits a lot better ;-) BUT I have to say that it is a great thing that FSMism is published internationally now, and I hope it will overcome the prejudices and stand strong against the ones who want it to hit the dust!!!
The german pastafarian community is growing and growing together, I am hoping that there will be a german translation of the Gospel either anytime soon!

Hello Fellow/Fellah Pastafarians,
As a recent convert who also happens to be a bilingual poet and writer, I beg that you remove your French translation of “Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster” – at least the title. Check any French/English dictionary and you will see that the word “gaine” (as in “Eglise du monstre de gaine de vol”, the title page for your French website) comes from the Latin for vagina and means anything from a sheath to a corset. It also means to contain and restrain (as in girdle). I doubt that’s what Pastafarianism is all about!!
As the word ’spaghetti’ is also a legitimate French word, why not just translate it as “Eglise du monstre de spaghetti volant”. That would be an accurate translation.
To further correct this unwittingly (I’m sure) mysoginistic post, I have been inspired to write an “Ode to the Flying Spaghetti Monster’s Mother” which I will send to you upon completion. Till then, Niddle, Noddle, Noo, RAmen.

I thought it they were real translations until I read the Spanish version. First it was “separate the word” instead of “spread the word” when it went on to say “Pastafarians believes” because the automated “translator” didn’t recognize Pastafarians (pastafarianos) as a real word so it was assumed to be singular. I stopped there. Isn’t there someone who could do a translation of the site?

To be a proper religion, the teachings of the FSM should go through multiple translations, including all the inevitable errors. It’s not a real religion until the original meaning has been completely lost.

When you are done, pastaman, I recommend you have someone translate your site from Spanish into German, German into Russian, Russian into Chinese, Chinese into Italian, Italian into French, and finally back into English. I would love to see what the final translation looks like.
