Personally, I think YOUR religion has gone too far, out of hand even with the continual publication of that book and other “stuff”, but before I move on, I would just like to remind you that things like “periods” and “commas” and capitals DO exist. It’s hard to believe, I know, but I promise that if you look hard enough at your keyboard, they’re there.

I’d like to know what exactly makes your religions superior to ours. I mean, I can clearly see how the Pastafarians are better (none of our religious leaders have raped a little boy, we don’t take money from the followers every week, we haven’t forced our religion on anyone, and we don’t look down upon people of other religions, orientations, etc.)

    So where’s your list?

Well, we do kinda look down on southern baptist evangelicals…. but that’s only because they can’t spell, and they smell funny.

The title of this thread is “I can see that this is a joke”, but apparently not everyone can. I found this site while following one of the Trackback links which appear at the bottom of the blog threads.

I’m still a bit speechless. I can’t believe this person is serious. I keep trying to find signs that perhaps it is a joke, but I don’t see any. You have to read it to understand.

I think Shelly is joking… Take a look round the site, (adopt a liberal etc).
But if you are refering to some of the people at the bottom, I don’t think they can see it :p

I think youre right Aussie. The more I read it, the more I think it must be satire along the lines of a very extreme Colbert-ish character. I think the wacked out respondents are playing along. I fell for it.

I really shouldn’t read this crap in the middle of the night. I need a beer.

Well, whatever it is, I was completely taken in by it. One of those rare experiences where you’re left feeling slightly *soiled* by what you’ve read.

i’m sorry, but i dont understand what you are saying, as going by your spelling and grammer capabilities, you have the mental capacity of a small piece of fluff.

Pet rocks they make my blood boil! They were harvested from the wild and no attempt was made a captive breeding! And what’s worse they were never feed or watered! Any way how can our religion be out of hand? The catholic church is much worse that this.

    Mr Reed.
I’m sure your accusations have been taken into careful consideration. Now go in peace and re-read your english text books of yore.

An elaborate spoof on Intelligent Design, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is neither too elaborate nor too spoofy to succeed in nailing the fallacies of ID. It's even wackier than Jonathan Swift's suggestion that the Irish eat their children as a way to keep them from being a burden, and it may offend just as many people, but Henderson, described elsewhere as a 25-year-old "out-of-work physics major," puts satire to the same serious use that Swift did. Oh, yes, it is very funny. -- Scientific American
